Have you ever wanted to work from home on a part-time basis?
Perhaps one of the following scenarios describes you:
- You are working full-time, but want to scale back your hours due to the upcoming birth of a baby or a desire to spend more time with your school-age children.
- You are a full-time SAHM, but desire to utilize your skills and creativity to bring in a little bit of additional income for your family.
- You are searching for a position that will allow you to earn money “on your own time” – while your baby is sleeping/nursing, the kids are in school, etc.
I am pleased to introduce you to HireMyMom.com!
HireMyMom.com exists “To provide businesses with top talent for temporary and permanent projects while enabling mom professionals to capitalize on the freedom and flexibility to do top-rated work from home.”
I recently had a chance to go “behind-the-scenes” and explore HMM to scope out the usefulness of the service. This is what I found:
At any given time, there are typically 200+ opportunities available. Most of the positions pay between $10-30/hour, but there are also positions that are contract and/or commission-based. Some of the positions are permanent; others are temporary. The type of positions that are available vary widely, but here are a few of the most recent postings:
- Virtual Assistant
- Graphic Artist/Illustrator
- Legal Research
- Book Editor
On average, it appears that 1-5 new job opportunities are posted each day.
Essentially, you can gain access to these opportunities by purchasing a quarterly membership ($29.95) or an annual membership ($99). As soon as you join, you’ll have immediate access to all of the listings in the project directory and can begin sending queries directly to companies that interest you. You’ll also receive daily e-newsletter alerts that highlight recent job postings.
MY TAKE: If you’re a moderately tech-savvy mama with 1-2 years of experience in your area of expertise (web design, blogging, human resources, etc.), there’s a good chance that you’ll find job postings of interest at HireMyMom.com. “Closing the deal” is up to you, of course…but finding clients is more than half the work…and HMM does that work for you! I think that $29.95 is a nominal fee to pay for the information received because having all of those job postings at your fingertips saves you valuable time and increases your chances of landing a credible contract/position in a shorter amount of time.
So – Are You Interested? I’m giving away a quarterly membership to one reader. You’ll find the full contest details below. Please leave a relevant comment of your choice: Are you looking for a work-from-home job? Do you currently work from home? What questions do you have about HireMyMom.com? Etc.
WIN IT! One winner will receive a quarterly membership to HireMyMom.com ($29.95). To enter, leave any topic-related comment on this post prior to Friday, March 20 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.).
*UPDATE* The winner is #1 Serena. Congratulations!
