Every morning in 2012, I'm going to wake up with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen.

The best thing about that pledge is that something wonderful always will - because I'm surrounded by the best people ever. [Hint: My Family].

  1. Ooohhhh... I LOVE your list... so much that I want to steal it and make it my own :)

    #1. They exist, right?
#2. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, you can do this!
    #6. That's easy, move to Alabama :)
    #10. You'll need #11 for this one.
    #20. YESSS, me too!
#25. Go for the Kindle Touch... I can hardly put mine down.
#52. I like this one... adding it to my own list, too.
#53. Eeek.. you've reminded me I was trying to do this. Must, get, back, to, it.

    1. RE: #1. I'm still searching. The ideal cocktail dress is illusive indeed - especially one with a reasonable price tag. ;)

  2. I had pretty much given up on my dreams of finishing my doctorate once I became a mom, thinking I'd never have enough time for that type of all-consuming commitment again, but seeing #58 on your list inspired me. Maybe there is hope for that someday. When would you do yours? When your kids went off to school? In what field?

    1. I've thought through my options so many times. I'd prefer to attend a brick-and-mortar university as opposed to an online university (for credibility's sake), but am not ready to jump in to that commitment since I have small children. My field of choice would likely be either Naturopathic Medicine or Family Studies.

What field are you interested in? How old are your little ones now? Let's "compare notes." :)

      1. I'd be continuing on in Developmental Psychology...you should look into Cornell's Human Development and Family Studies PhD program. I'm a graduate of that department (did my BS) there and Can attest that it is a really good department with amazing professors who are doing very interesting research.

        1. Thank you for the recommendation. I'll look into it. I wonder if they offer any distance learning options. I don't think we're up for a move to NY - at least not right now. ;)

  3. I haven't made a list, but yours is great! I'm excited about your plans to visit Zion and Bryce. I think of Zion as *my* park after growing up in St. George. :)

  4. #9 - I will TOTALLY karaoke with you -- any time, any place -- you name it and pick the song...I will join you!!

And another developing dream of mine is to write children's books too...

    Your list inspires me!!

  5. Such an interesting list! I've done a few of these, some I have no desire to, and some sound really interesting! I most heartily agree with the last one though... :)
I don't really have any goals this year except perhaps to rely on God more. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need that!

      1. Hmmm, let's see, 15, 16, 26, 33 (there's a very long story behind this one!), 51 (and not because it's with Tim! ;), 58 (I love learning, but I have no desire to get another degree, if I could audit classes here and again I'd be a happy girl, but we live too far away from our alma mater. :(
Some of the rest are kind of take or leave - like being a consultant for a planned community. I'm sure I'd have lots of ideas, but unless someone specifically asked for my input that's not the kind of thing I'd go looking for!

  6. I love your list. And, knowing you, I have a sneaking suspicion that when all is said and done you will have accomplished all of these things. And more! Happy New Year, friend.

  7. OK, I do believe that makes it into my top 3 best lists! Too awesome. I might just have to steal some of those for my own! Greatness- And the cocktail dress- a must have :)

  8. I love number 15! You have inspired me to create a list too. So far I have two things...1. Stop drinking diet coke (I am on day 4 already!)...2. Win a gameshow :)

  9. The LivingSocial travel deal a few days ago is $99 for 2 nites for a family of 4 right outside of Zion National Park. I think the deal is still on for the rest of today (Tuesday). I thought about buying it but the deal is only good through March or so!

    1. Since our baby is due in April, we won't be able to take advantage of that deal either. A season for everything...

  10. If I just plagiarize from your list I'd definitely include these - #6, #8 (but with David!), #18, #22 YES!, #27, #28, #34, #38, and #48

In the travel department my list goes like this: Visit Italy, visit every state and explore the world in general…

I'll never have #35 - didn't even have it when I exercised regularly, was a size 6 and weighed 115 pounds!

I've done #20 - now I just need to be able to have it built some day. I've got the plans saved and ideas for interior details pinned on Pinterest!

But my biggest dreams for 2012 are to finish organizing our "stuff" finish weeding out the excess, then keep it weeded out regularly, keep up with the household chores and move into the country - out of town and into a slightly larger house! Business wise I'd like to continue developing relationships with the clients I have and add a couple more to the list!

  11. I never EVER do this, I know it is poor blogging etiquette, but since we are good friends, I will link to a post I put up today - just this - my goals for 2012, biz and personal. Mine aren't as outrageous as many of yours, but I love your ability to dream! :-)

Love your dreams!! especially the one about running a race with your daughters. I am adding that to my bucket list! :-)

    1. I'm so glad you left that link. I just read all 20 on your list, left a comment, and took your survey. I have a feeling 2012 is going to be OUTSTANDING for you.

  12. #4 is on my list too. I'm dying to go with Noel -- to take him to all my favorite sites and places. London is my favorite city in the world, and I want to share it with my favorite guy! :)

I also want to do #32. One of these days. And yay for #50!

  13. that is quite the list!! As far as invisalign goes...i'm 5 months in...i'm totally used to it now, hopefully by year 2 my teeth will be straight! Also, lasik is so very worth it...got it done a few years back. Facial moisturizer...Jojoba oil form trader joes...love it.

    1. I've heard many positive stories about Lasik and my eye doctor told me that I am a good candidate. She also told me to wait until I am done bearing children and breastfeeding because both of those things tend to alter eyesight. Needless to say, I won't be scheduling the procedure anytime soon.

Jojoba oil. Hmm. This is the first I've heard of it. I plan to look into it...especially because YOUR skin is so beautiful.

  14. I have to think about my own, and then I'll get back to you...

but, to your #54....I have started using coconut oil as a facial moisturizer and find it to be quite perfect!

    1. I had braces in middle school, then...a retainer that I was SUPPOSED to wear until I graduated high school. Unfortunately, I was not as diligent as I should have been. Thus, my bottom teeth have slowly been shifting out of alignment. I've heard wonderful things about Invisalign though!

P.S. Thank you for the compliment.

  15. Oh jeeps, and here I thought I was excelling by making my own homemade bread this year! ;-)

Seriously though, what an amazing list! Here's to 2012 and wonderful things happening!

    1. We make cinnamon-raisin bread pretty often, but I'd like to branch out and try other recipes too. Do you have a bread maker or do you plan to make the bread from scratch? Please do share any good recipes as you try them!
