3-2-1

Hi, Friends!

3-2-1 1

I have 3 quick things to share. Ready. Set. Go.

1. Remember when I mentioned a "top secret project" awhile back? Well...Tim & I are working like crazy on a new website + blog that we are super excited about (it won't be replacing this blog...it's something brand new). I'm thinking about it so much that I'm dreaming about it.  All that to say, I might be a little bit quiet over the next few weeks as I hunker down and immerse myself in the dream. I can't wait to unveil it to you. Really. I'm bursting.

2. Tomorrow, I'm debuting a spectacular Father's Day Gift Guide. There will be ideas galore...and lots of giveaways for COOL guy gadgets and things. They've all been "Tim-approved" - which means you won't see me featuring any masculine manicure sets or t-shirts that say, "Dads are #1!" ;)

3. Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, to everyone who comments on my blog. Your thoughts mean the world to me and I am constantly inspired by you. If you stop by to read, please say something from time-to-time...even a little squeak from the corner, "Hi, I'm here."

YOUR TURN: If you're reading, say HI (even if you're single or a newlywed without kids or a dad).

Also: I'm curious. Do you read blogs more or less in the summertime?

  1. Can't wait to see more about this project!

I find that I read blogs less and less these days, but I find myself here more often than most! :) I stay busy homeschooling and taking care of my boys, and less time on the computer... which is a good thing! :)

  2. Hi Stephanie,
I’m still out here in cyperspace. I am reading but I don’t have as much time for posting these days and not because it is summer. Besides my volunteer projects and my household, my two sons (3 years and 2.5 months old) are keeping me busy.
I was thinking that maybe your top secret project was going to be a mission trip, not a new website + blog. I can’t wait to read it!
I love reading your posts. They can be really thought provoking and I can tell you really write from your heart.

  3. Stephanie, HELLO! You're so talented and lovely. Thank you for the time you put into your blog. I love it and cannot wait to see your secret new project. If you put as much TLC into it like Metroopolitian Mama, it will be a hit!

  4. I can't wait to hear about your new site.

As for blog reading, it's definitely a lot less in the summer. We spend too much time doing things and going places (fun ones, not just errands). I just can't see using such precious time online (though of course I still read your blog, mostly through RSS).

  5. Hi :)

I think less. In fact I think my season of blog following may be slowing considerably. My son was an infant last year and I was forced to sit still to nurse, now my son wants to MOVE, and loves the outside...so I have to cut back. But I'll be popping in...usually lurking in the back :)

  6. I love this blog. I check in daily! I am very excited about all your new adventures!! Can't wait to see what's next!

  7. Hello - I'm looking forward to seeing what the surprise is! I've been working on a new website idea myself. Maybe once you are done with yours you can share some info with me on how it went and the problems you had to deal with to make it all happen!

  8. Looking forward to your new project with your husband!

The seasons of the year never really interrupted my blog reading before.

And since I read only a few blogs now, it wouldn't make a difference any way.

I'm looking forward to this summer --- I'm hoping we can do our first ever family vacation!

    Nell

  9. Just wanted to say "hi"! I've never commented before, but I'm a faithful follower. You have inspired me. I call you my "blogging hero."

I recently did a post where I linked to some of my favorite blogs, and of course, yours was included. :)

Thanks for your authenticity, transparency, and passion.

Can't wait for the new project!!

  10. stopping in to say hello...
i haven't been reading any blogs lately since we added a new member to our family two weeks ago. i've been keeping busy with my three boys and loving it! the only time i've been on the computer is to upload pictures, order birth announcements, check email, and pay bills.
looking forward to your new project and to your father's day guide.

  11. How exciting! Can't wait to see the new site you two are working on. That is so great that the two of you are doing it together.

I think I read blogs a little more during the summer. No getting ready for school or pick up and drop off's. Although this summer I really want to work out a little more and do more outside stuff with the kids.

Looking forward to your gift guide, although, I just ordered hubby's gift...an iPad..he will love it ( :

  12. holy moly you got lots of comments on this post :)

i am not sure if i read more or less blogs. i'm trying to slim down my reader list and get rid of the ones that I don't read very often and just keep up with the ones that i love (like yours).

i'm so excited for your Father's Day gift guide. i'm struggling to figure out what to get Scott.

so excited to see your new blog/website. anything the two of your produce together is bound to be cool. good luck while you engross yourself in it.

  13. I think I read less in the summertime but maybe I just read less because I'm nursing the baby less often...still always reading yours ;)

  14. Hi :) I tend to read more during summertime since the AZ sun is just way too hot for me to spend a lot of time outdoors.
I thoroughly enjoy your blog and am excited about the new project to be revealed.

  15. Looking forward to the new website+blog. I also can't wait to see your Father's Day gift guide...my husbands bday is 2 days after Father's Day, and I'm at a loss for what to get him this year.

My "summer" just started but so far I'm reading blogs less. I've got way too many posts piled up in Google Reader (and way too many blogs, too...I have WAY more than the 50 blog limit you use).

  16. I read you weekly! Try to comment weekly, too. :)

I probably read blogs more often in the summer, mainly because 1) we homeschool but not in the summer and 2) I'm looking for inspiration for boredom busters during summer months!

  17. Sounds so fun! Can't wait to see it. Love reading your blog, and I guess I spend about the same amount of time reading blogs in the summer as I do the rest of the time.

  18. Hi there - I have my list of blogs I scan through every day when I check my email. I don't see that changing much based on the season. Can't wait for another new website from you. Your blog is always interesting, so am sure I'll be adding your new site to my "morning list." :)

  19. Hi Stephanie,
I love your blog and am very excited to see the new one you've been working on with your husband. You put a lot of thought into what you share and I really appreciate that.
As for reading blogs in the summertime, I keep up with them the same unless we're going on vacation...

  20. Totally excited about your new website and Father's Day gift ideas!
I read and blog LESS in the summertime - too much other, non-routine stuff going on!

  21. Stephanie, can't wait for your Father's day gift ideas! I enjoy reading your posts and getting a glimpse into you life. Thanks for letting us in!

  22. So excited to see what is in store for you guys! I can relate so much to these feelings you have been talking about over the past few months...that deep yearning for some sort of change....looking forward to seeing the new project!

  23. I'm here, I read, I hardly ever comment. Need to make more time for that but seems like naptime is when I can catch up on blogs and emails.
Looking forward to seeing what the new blog is all about!

  24. Hi! I think I read blogs just as often or much as other times of the year...but that's probably because my husband's work schedule is busier in the summer and he works the night shift. No one to talk to in real life at night...hence more computer reading and writing time.
I too am excited to see your new venture! Much luck to you on it.

  25. Hi Stephanie.
I'm still here. Lurking more then commenting. Glad to hear all is well with you and excited for your new website/blog.

I just changed my whole blog and am considering sharing it with the masses via my FB account etc. Till now it's just been friends, fellow bloggers and some family. Always worried I'd offend someone.

Anyway, wishing you lots of inspiration on your new dreams and hope your sweet family is well.
    ~Amy

  26. Your gift guides always have such great ideas that I never would have thought of. Can't wait to see what you have for father's day.

I probably read about the same or maybe a little less during the summer. I do all of my computer stuff during nap time. But if we have had a busy day or nap is really short then computer time is what gets cut shorter.

Looking forward to the new website!!

  27. I probably read about the same. I try to keep the kids busy both indoors and outdoors, but we are usually out more. I tend to do most of my reading of blogs, emails, etc, when kids are napping, sleeping or otherwise occupied without me.

  28. I was just thinking yesterday about your surprise and wondering if you were going to reveal it or not. I can't wait to see!

I'll miss you being quiet though! :) I definitely blog less/read less in the summer. I want to and have to enjoy the summer with my kids outside!

  29. I've almost completely given up blogging and seriously cut down on my blog reading, but yours is still on my list. Perhaps it is just summertime, but I think it is more likely a change in where I want to be spending my time. Can't wait to see what you've got in store...

  30. Hi Stephanie! I can't wait to see the new website, and I'm excited about the Father's Day post tomorrow! I'm never sure of what to get my dad (usually I take him out to lunch but he's in Alabama this year), so it will be great to get some ideas.
And, to answer your question, I check blogs about the same all year round. Although I have more time in the summer, I've found that searching my favorite blogs during the school year provides a much needed break from studying.

  31. My wife and I read from news readers on our "idevices" so we rarely visit the actual site although we rarely miss a post! First child will be here soon! (mid July)!

    1. So excited for you both! Parenthood is life-changing, miraculous, and marvelous. You are going to love it. :)

  32. Hi Stephanie! Well, to be honest, yours is the only blog I read. I use to read my cousin's, but he's home with Jesus now. And I think that there is no difference in my reading whether it be summertime or not. :) Good luck with your new project!

  33. My summertime reading is about the same.. well, maybe a little less, but I try to make it the same :)

  34. SO looking forward to your top secret project not being top secret anymore! Also looking forward to the "Tim approved" Father's Day guide!! Did I mention that I am excited about your project? I am...it seems that anything you touch is inspired so I can only imagine how this is coming together...can't wait!

  35. Hi! I'm not sure whether I read less but I sure comment less. So much to do, so many competing priorities.

I'm contemplating making my husband a shirt covered in baby footprints that says: "Daddy lets me walk all over him". It would be funny but definitely not approved :)

  36. Can't wait to see what's in store with the new project! Best of luck with it!

I try to make time to read blogs over the summer, but I definitely get much less time to do it. Too much exciting stuff going on!

  37. Hi Stephanie! 1. I can't wait for your new blog! How satisfying for you and Tim to see all your hard word come to fruition! I'm glad you're going to be a littler quieter in the next few weeks because we'll be on vacation and I don't want to miss too much!

    2. The Father's Day gift guide will be great. My husband would die laughing if I bought him a manicure set.

    3. Yes, I read blogs in the summer, but not when we're on vacation.

    4. Love the reply button on the comments.

  38. Hi! I'm here!! I love reading your blog, it's one of my few daily check-ins. I can't wait to see the new project!

  39. Since my kids are no in school yet, summer is not that different from other seasons.
...And I love your blog and excited about the new project ;)

  40. Hi Stephanie!! I'm here! :) Still love to visit your blog everyday! Am enjoying watching your girls grow and blossom :) You know, I never received the gift certificate from dream dinners...! Can't wait to see what the new blog is all about!!! xoxox

    1. Thanks so much for your kind words! :)

I just sent you an e-mail about your Dream Dinners cert. Hopefully we can get that straightened out soon.

  41. No school means I have more time for everything during the summer!! More working out, more writing on my own blog, more visiting other blogs, more cooking. Oh, I can't wait until next week!!!

  42. Hi, I'm here too. Summertime is just the same as winter since I am at home with two small children.

  43. can't wait to hear all that you have going on! Summer reading probably is about the same. Because of the weather, I def. read less during the daytime hours, but I tend to stay up later during the summer months, so I read into the night often...

  44. Hi, I'm here! I need to be better about coming on here and commenting, but I read your posts through my email! Looking forward to the Dad's gift guide that's actually real Dad approved and the new project! Oh and my summer reading stays about the same.

  45. I definitely read less in the summer. Although, all of my blogging activities really slowed down in January or so this year and I haven't gotten my mojo back so who knows!

Looking forward to the gift guide and the new project!

    -Jenn

  46. Hi- I'm here for some more binge commenting...Miss you friend- But super excited about the secret project! Looking forward to Father's Day ideas to- extra grandpas in our fam :)

  47. I'm looking forward to seeing the dream that you're so excited about. I know that anything you and Tim are working on together is going to be thought-provoking and great fun to read! I hope your work goes well these next few weeks :)

  48. Looking forward to hearing about your top secret project!

As for blogs, I'll read the same amount during the summer as I do throughout the year.

Oh yea and I'm up at this horrible hour with a major ear ache arrgh

  49. I cannot wait to see what the website is all about. And, I think I am addicted to coming over here three to four times daily...so, you guessed it. I will miss you. But please hurry up and come back! Make that website+blog look pretty, I cant wait to see it.

    1. Thank you for the kind words, Blessing! Your comment made me smile.

I'll still be "around." I'll likely just be quieter on facebook/twitter/blogs over the next few weeks as Tim & I work like crazy on our new project.
