Win TWO Tickets to Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland

We spent this past Friday night at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

Our 6-year-old was elegant and enchanting as "Winter Belle." Our 3-year-old was a demure and dazzling "Sleeping Beauty." Our 5-month-old was "The Cutest Baby in the Whole Wide World" (aka I didn't have time to buy a costume prior to the event). ;)

OUR TAKE

Dressing up is always a treat for kids and this event provided an extra-special venue to get fancy. Regardless of your costume choice, be sure to insist on comfortable shoes for small feet. Count on plenty of walking throughout the park.

Trick-or-Treat stations are plentiful and small trick-or-treat bags are provided at the gate. We walked away with way more candy than necessary. Bonus points to the park for also including carrot sticks, craisins, and dried apples as "treats." I'd love to see even more healthy options in future years. Perhaps packs of nuts, beef jerky, sports beans, granola bars, and sugarfree gum.

We found lines on the attractions to be much less crowded than on other days at the parks. Fantasyland, in particular, was wonderfully sparse. We rode Peter Pan, Dumbo, Snow White, and King Arthur's Carousel - with line wait times of 5 to 20 minutes.

The fireworks show was spectacular, but not too spooky. Certainly little ones may need to be held (it's a good idea to discuss the show ahead of time too), but most kids will probably be thrilled at the magnificence of the lights.

OVERALL: Mickey's Halloween Party is a fun event for families. It's an especially great way to get out of the heat and enjoy the park in the evening.

Win TWO tickets to Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland (valued at $108!). Tickets are good for October 9, 2012 ONLY. Park entry begins at 3:00pm. Event ends at 11:00pm.

  1. I really wanted to go to this party! I called to order tickets only to find that they just sold out! I am so disappointed! Hopefully, we will win!

        1. Well anyone who wins this contest only gets the two tickets, they won't be able to buy more for anyone else to come with them, too! That's kind of disappointing :(

          1. I regret waiting to see if I won now because of that. But if I do win we only need 2 because our children are small and don't need tickets. So maybe the extended family wont be able to join and that sucks, but at least our kids can have fun.

  2. Thanks for sharing this post. My wife and my favorite Disneyland ride is Indiana Jones. My daughters is King Arthur's Carousel.

  3. My favorite ride is the Winnie the Pooh ride because it is my daughters favorite. It is so cute and she is just so happy riding it.

  4. We just took my girls for the first time and they loved it. My 4 year old said her favorite ride was the roller coaster in toon town. I think my husband would say star tours. I love pirates of the carribbean!

  5. I would love to take my son to Halloween at Disneyland. It will be nice to go before I give birth to twins in Decmber and spend some time with him.

  6. We haven't been to Disneyland yet even though we live in So. Cal. because we were waiting for the little ones to be old enough, but our kids are the same as yours, so maybe we'll give it a try! Favorite ride - I always liked the Jungle Cruise.

  7. The Haunted Mansion is the best ride, especially during Halloween. It is a classic Disneyland ride. Thanks for the chance to win tickets.

  8. I haven't been to Disneyland in YEARS, but when I was little, I was always loved Star Tours. It was even fun standing in line! :)

  9. I LOVE Peter Pan! Love that the attendants will throw Pixie dust on you before you take off!

I love Disneyland during Halloween time but have never attended their Halloween Party, looks like a lot of fun! Nice that they give away healthy snacks also.

    PS. I might steal your costume idea for baby this year (;

  10. My favorite ride is Space Mountain, I especially love the reaction and excitement of my kids now that they are old enough to ride it.
