It's unfortunate that "The ABC's of Breastfeeding: Everything a Mom Needs to Know for a Happy Nursing Experience" (AMACOM, January 2008) ended up with such a bland title and ho-hum cover because this book is really a jewel. In this case, you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
Author Stacey Rubin provides an accurate and honest portrayal of breastfeeding, from preparing for it to weaning from it. As an experienced nurse and certified lactation consultant (and a mother of two), Rubin has witnessed and helped hundreds of women turn their nursing experience into a blissful one.
Rubin speaks with compassion and authority on everything from how to prepare for breastfeeding before your baby is born to building a healthy milk supply to how to continue breastfeeding after returning to work.
This is one of the top three nursing books I've read and I sincerely recommend it to new moms and moms-to-be.

No matter what book you choose, I think it's a good idea to have one or two breastfeeding books on-hand after you have a baby. Questions are bound to pop up and it's good to have a trusted resource to turn to.
