all the way to the moon

all the way to the moon 1She says: I love you.

I say: I love you more.

She says: No, I love YOU even more than that.

I say: I love you all the way to the ceiling.

She says: No, I love YOU all the way to the ceiling.

I say: I love you all the way to the sky.

She says: No, I love YOU all the way to the sky.

I say: Well, I love you all the way to the moon and back.

She says: No, I love YOU all the way to the moon and back.

I say: That's a lot of love right there. (But I love you even more that).

  1. Hi, I'm the author /illustrator of Do you know how much i love you? It's out of print now, but I know that many libraries have it.

    Glad you all like it!
    Thanks, Donna Tedesco

  2. So sweet. We play this game and ours always ends with "I love you as big as a pineapple" it always makes us laugh.

@blessed - is this the book you mean? Do You Know How Much I Love You? by Donna Tedesco

  3. I don't think there is any way to measure all that love :)

I read a kids book once (and I can't find it now... arrgh!) anyway, at the end of the book it basically said "I love you more than all the petals on all the flowers in all the neighborhoods in all the cities in the whole wide world." I'm on a quest to find that book again - it's one I'd love to share with Sugar!

  4. SO cute! My mom tells the story of her and her mom (grandma) having nightly contests to see who could express the most love. Like, "To the moon and back one million times," or more geographically expressive :)

  5. It is amazing how much more loveable my 2 year old is than my 4 year old. It is just their different personalities. Lily (the 2 year old) will now say Love when we say "I love you". It is so cute. She is also more than willing to give hugs and kisses whenever! I love being a mom!

  6. I think one my favorite parts of leaving toddlerhood behind and entering into the preschool years is that they know how to reciprocate love. "I love you!" I say to my 3yo son. "I love you, too!" He responds, without any prompting.

    So very sweet!

  7. How incredibly sweet! I've only heard Shane say "I love you" too me once -- "Ahwahvoo" -- but he'll sign "I love you" (well, his little version of the sign).

How wonderful that you recorded this little moment! So heart-melting!

  8. Awe. So sweet. My little boy has just started saying "I love you, Mommy." He melts my heart. I'm guessing you have been reading "Guess How Much I Love You?" One of our favorites :-) I'm glad you wrote down this precious conversation.

  9. A love like that - so pure and true - is {next to our salvation} the best gift God has given us Mother's!

    Nell
