Our baby boy turned ONE in late August!
Here are the baby products we used most often between 9 and 12 months. ***Click over to see our favorite baby products for birth to three months and our most used baby products for 4 to 8 months.
Note that we have four children (ages 11, 8, 5, and 1) so many of these are items that we have used for multiple babies and/or fallen in love with after much trial-and-error.
Looking for a highchair that is stylish, super functional, and easy to clean? We LOVE our Abiie Beyond Jr. Y highchair. The seat is waterproof and a cinch to wipe down. The tray is detachable and dishwasher-safe. The beechwood is elegant and gorgeous, matchable to most any decor. Best of all, the seat “grows” with your baby and can be used as a regular chair for children, teens, and adults when your little one grows up. Truly a phenomenal investment!
We received this wagon as a hand-me-down from family - and we use it every single day! Our little guy loves to be strapped in and wheeled around the back porch or neighborhood.
We purchased a Little Tikes Swing on Amazon for $26 and promptly hung it up on our back porch. It’s gotten excellent use over the past year – by our baby and visiting babies too! For the price, I would say it has huge ROI. Definitely register for one if you can.
If you have had a baby in the past 20 years, you’ve probably heard about BOB jogging strollers. Highly coveted on craigslist, they are the gold standard for jogging strollers because they are lightweight, easy to push/fold/steer, and are generally well-designed. We were so fortunate to have been given a BOB from a friend this time around and we use it on daily walks when the weather is nice. If you only can get one stroller, get a BOB and call it a day.
A video monitor seems like a luxury, but it’s actually one of our most-used products. We use it daily for both naptime and bedtime. Video monitors give us such peace of mind because we can check in on the baby regularly from anywhere in the house. The only thing that I would change about this particular model is that I wish the camera could be "swiveled" around the room. We used to have one like that and we appreciated that feature.
If you read my previous two baby product articles, you know that I love the Kickee Pants brand for little ones. I still reach for the baby's Kickee Pants polo romper and pajamas whenever they are clean because the material is buttery soft and so stretchy.
Soft shoes for precious feet! All four of my kids have worn Robeez shoes as babies. They are stretchy and moldable, easy to put on, and comfy for crawlers and new walkers.
These shoes wear well too. I just took this pair of my little guy's feet yesterday to photograph them. He has been wearing them every day for several months now (indoors + outdoor) - and you can see that they still look pretty new.
Thank goodness for Costco! With four growing kids, we have found that we shop at Costco more and more – especially for dairy, meats, breads, salads, and snacks! If they offered fresher + more local produce, we would probably rarely step foot in a traditional grocery store. All that to say, we loyally buy Kirkland Signature Wipes. They seem gentle (fragrance-free, paraben-free, chlorine-free), don’t fall apart like some other competing brands, and come in handy dispensers that work equally well for at-home or on-the-road.
If you have a toddler, get a few of these interactive, touch-and-feel board books by Usborne. If you're new to the "That's not my..."" series, start with the puppy and lion book...then add some more! Our little guy loves feeling the bumpy, scratchy, furry, and squashy elements on each page.
I don't carry a traditional diaper bag. They tend to be way too big and bulky. Instead, I carry a simple quilted black purse by travelwell that I received at Disney Social Media Moms several years ago. It's spacious with an exterior pocket and one zippered interior pocket.
Baby food pouches are how I get through the grocery store with a 1-year-old. I try to always have one in my purse in case we have to run errands when we are out-and-about.
Whenever the Peach, Banana, & Apricot flavor by Plum Organics goes on sale (I wait until I can find the pouches for $1 each), I stock up. Plum Organics baby food is certified organic, unsweetened, unsalted, and non-GMO. The packaging is BPA-free and the ingredient list is short.
I like having a grocery cart cover for this age range. They're a cinch to use. Slide over the seat and you can keep some of those germs at bay!
Our Belize Bebe au Lait shopping cart cover is a cloudy blue and we keep it in the car for east access when we run out to the store.
A lightweight umbrella stroller is such a handy item to have with a toddler. Fold up and throw in your car for outings to the park, zoo, or pumpkin patch. We use the Inglesina Net stroller when we travel since it is more compact than our larger jogging stroller (see above).
Here are some other items we’ve used a lot for these past four months –

If we had only the products above for months nine to twelve, we’d be golden. Tim & I have definitely learned that less-is-more when it comes to baby gear. We don’t even use a crib. Our little guy sleeps on a mattress on the floor.
