Babybug: A Monthly Magazine for Infants & Toddlers

Babybug: A Monthly Magazine for Infants & Toddlers 1When my daughter was right around one years old, she LOVED getting the mail with mommy. In fact, "mail!" (exclamation point inserted purposefully because she would say it so enthusiastically) was among her first words. She loved to move the red flag up and down, to open the box, and to see the letters inside.

Since little ones love surprises and opening special packages, it's no surprise that someone decided to create a magazine specifically for the 0-2 set. What fun to be able to look forward to a new square-shaped, thick-paged zine each month!

Babybug: A Monthly Magazine for Infants & Toddlers 2Babybug Magazine is "for babies who love to be read to and for adults who love to read to them." Filled with colorful illustrations (that are multi-culturally sensitive, I might add), rhyming text, and simple stories, the magazine is meant to be shared between parent and child.

The Parent Bloggers Network asked me if I would review Babybug a few months ago and I obliged. Strangely, although my daughter loves to read books, she isn't interested in Babybug. I'm not sure if it's her age or her stage, but I've tried to pull them out on several occasions and she always pushes them away and opts for another book. Perhaps she'll like them more in the future...for now, she just likes pulling them out of the mailbox.

Want to try Babybug for yourself? A 1-year subscription costs $33.95.

  1. Cheeks has this subscription, and Blondie has one called "Click". So fun! It's fun for them to get mail, and gives us new things to read. Cheeks would rather eat her babybug subscription than read it right now, but eventually we'll get there.

  2. What a wonderful idea! I don't know if we have anything like this in Australia. I must make some inquiries.
Also, I'd love to be a part of your blogroll (cheeky I know), so if you think your readers would be like to see more from an international Mom with a unique sense of style and fashion, please come on over.

  3. My daughter loves to "read" (of course me reading), always pulling the same books every night. Her love for magazines is offloading the pile that I never seem to have time to look through and of course pretending to read them. This would be something different and tie in the interest for getting the mail when it is actually for her is fun. Thanks for the heads up Stephanie!

  4. It sounds like a cool kids magazine! Strangely enough, though my son (now 6) loves books as well, but has never been interested in subscription magazines. He loves getting mail, but the magazines barely get looked at.

I'd love to hear from others if their kids like this or other similar children's magazines... I keep wanting to subscribe him and my daughter to a kids magazine because I love magazines!!
