BEST OF 2008: Julian & Co.

julian & co logoThe day of my daughter's birth (It's been a little over two years ago now...I can't believe it!) is a day I will never forget. It was life-changing and love-infusing...positively magical.

birth necklace square julian & coOne way that I commemorate that memorable day is by wearing a Birth Necklace ($59) from Julian & Co. Etched with my daughter's name on the front (and her birthdate, height, and weight on the back), this delicate sterling silver necklace is absolutely charming. It's small and sweet, yet it makes a HUGE statement. I always receive compliments when I wear it. Best of all, it's dainty enough that you could easily have multiple charms (for multiple kids) on one necklace without it looking overbearing or cumbersome. This is one birth necklace that will grow with your expanding family.

If you're looking for a beautiful gift for your best friend/sister/etc. who just gave birth, this is one present that won't be overlooked or unused. I can assure you that it will be treasured and worn proudly...even if the recipient is not really the jewelry type.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a birth necklace from Julian & Co. To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Wednesday, December 31 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

NOTE: For additional information, please feel free to read my original review, published on 03-10-2008.

*UPDATE* The winner is #42 Andreah. Congratulations!

  1. This is beautiful. I can't believe it - "mama" jewelry I would actually wear! Even if I don't win, I'll probably end up buying one of these anyway.

  2. What a sweet way to keep your children close to your heart. My daughter was born almost 6 years ago! I can't believe how the time has flown. now I have a sweet little boy and he is nearly a year and a half I really wish I could slow it all down. I love these necklaces.
    Thanks for the entry

  3. My husband bought a necklace with 3 hearts from him and my two boys after they were born, now I have another set of twins and would love a necklace to put all my kids on

  4. Although I will be keeping these in mind as incredibly special gifts, I have to admit that I think I would purchase one for myself first- selfish, right? I think the Del Mar square would be perfect because I can fit my daughters unabridged first name on it and I like the modern look.

  5. With expecting my third child in a couple of months, I would love something like this to help celebrate not only his birth but also my motherhood. Thanks for a great giveaway :)

  6. This is a parent's delight.... the giveaway is a sweet gesture and much appreciated by the lucky winner, I'm sure!

A lovely and precious gift to honor a miracle child!

  7. These are adorable!! I would love to win one for my sister with my nephews birth info. on it! I would love one for myself as well, but I have 4 children and I couldn't wear 4 necklaces..lol!

  8. The Birth Necklace Rectangle would be perfect for my Son who just had his first child. He is so proud of his new Daughter. It is wonderful that this company recognizes that men love to wear chains and also are committed to their families.

  9. I love how this is an necklace that has room for a growing family :) This would be a great gift for a friend who is expecting twins!

  10. My wife would love those! She's been looking for something like that but we haven't been able to afford one. At least now I would be able to afford to get the extra pendants for the other kids too instead of the whole kit and kabootle.

  11. I'm not a necklace wearer, but when I received a necklace with my son's picture in it, I've worn it almost everyday. I'm proud to show off that I'm his mom, that we're connected. This necklace is a beautiful reminder of the effort it took to bring our little ones into the world and their stats at that particular moment in time.

  12. I love all the wonderful keepsakes that are out now. I don't usually wear jewelry but would definitely have fun showing this off. It would be a way to keep my dd close to my heart even when I'm at work. Thanks so much for another wonderful giveaway.

  13. It took me 13 long years of trying to finally have my daughter. I would love to have this necklace. I would wear it proudly.

  14. I have a friend with a similar necklace that I love. One charm for each of her kiddos. I'm not much of a jewelry wearer but I feel like this is something I could (and probably would) wear every day (or at least close to every day).

  15. I love these necklaces and I would give it to my very best friend. Her son Drew was born last year on Christmas day and passed away 3 months later from SIDS. My friends birthday is in January and would love to give this to her in memory and honor of her son.

  16. I love the necklace! It is unique and one of a kind, something I would wear everyday as a reminder of the battle with infertility I have had and the precious result :)

  17. This is such a beautiful and fresh take on Mother's jewelry, would love to have charms made for all three of my children.

  18. Every time you wear your necklace I want to make a comment, including yesterday, but I try to refrain since I know I've commented before. I would love one for our new baby boy!

  19. That is such a sweet idea! It would make a great present. Although, I think if I won I'd have to keep it for myself and have all of Levi's birth info written on it.

  20. I've been looking for a great "mother's necklace" that's tasteful and not too "flashy" and I love this one! It's tastefully simple, yet stylish, and I love sterling silver. Thanks for the chance to enter!

  21. This is such a sweet idea. If I won, I'd have to save up my pennies though, and buy a couple of extra charms for my other kiddos!

  22. I love personalized jewelry, and this necklace looks fantastic. I have a ring with my first three sons' birthstones, but my fourth isn't represented. Maybe this could be his!

  23. I know we didn't even get to Christmas yet, but I can't help but think what a great Mother's Day present this would be. I'd love to win one for myself. Also, I like that it is such a fresh idea. I guess it is a take off of a mother's birthstone ring.
