BEST OF 2008: Picaflor Kids

picaflorkids logoI'm picky and choosy when it comes to clothes for my 2-year-old daughter. They don't have to be posh and pricey and celebrity-inspired (in fact, I'm happy if they're not any of those things...). My stipulations are seemingly much simpler.

I look for clothes that are:

  • Well-made
  • Machine-washable
  • Modern
  • Chic/Cute
  • Appropriate
  • Non-branded
  • Comfortable (my daughter is not a big fan of "extras" - lace, buttons, etc.)

dsc00869Picaflor Kids is all of that and more. Headquarted in Portland, Oregon, this company creates elegant knitwear (sizes 6 months - 10 years) in gorgeous colors. The outfits look somewhat dressy, but they're also surprisingly perfect for every day wear.

My daughter wore her julia knit peasant dress all summer long. When given a choice, she'd sort through her drawer and pull it out - perhaps because it was so easy to slide on and off.

Now, she can be seen running around in her abigail dress and matching ruffle pants (pictured). She's being exceptionally silly in that photo, but isn't that color wonderful?

You can purchase Picaflor Kids clothing from a number of brick-and-mortar and online retailers. As far as I can tell, sets go for between $29-44 and individual pieces are in the $26-42 range.

WIN IT! One winner will receive one piece from the Picaflor Kids collection of her choice (won't that be a hard choice?). To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Wednesday, December 31 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

NOTE: For additional information, please feel free to read my original review, published on 6-7-2008.

*UPDATE* The winner is #3 Belinda A. Congratulations!

  4. My daughter has rediscovered her inner-girl and they have some of the sweetest pieces. She would be in heaven. Thank you for the chance to enter! :c)

  12. Cute stuff. I checked out the site and it seems like they have a lot of kimono type shirts. These are good for newborns.

  13. The clothing is so beautiful. I love both the Kimono dress and the sol Dress from the Spring Collection. Thanks for introducing us to this collection!

  14. I like the more simple/non-brabded clothes for my boys too. We are just getting to where our toddler has a preference about what he wears, and he prefers the most comfortable pieces it seems. I would love to choose a new something from picaflor.

  15. well I love the dani dress in cranberry and the lomdon sweater coat in pink and the abi in pink- love these- easy to care for and not hard for the child to put on for themselves

  16. Picaflor clothes sound great---your children's clothing criteria are similar to mine, with the addition of "affordable;"of course, that's different for everyone. I love the London Sweater Coat in their Child Fall 2008 collection and would be very happy to win it for our little girl. Thanks for the giveaway!

  17. I love the styles on this site! Very cute and modern and if I happen to have another girl...it would still look cute in a few years.
