The best advice I can give for shopping for a tween girl is to buy something that an adult woman would enjoy.
With few exceptions, my 11-year-old enjoys the same things that I do - good books, comfortable slippers, athletic clothing, pretty bags, well-made shoes, jewelry and accessories, room decor pieces, and journals.
Here are some items that caught my eye for 10 to 12-year-old girls in 2017.

Obermeyer's new teen collection offers stylish and well-made clothing for the outdoors - including jackets, pants, suspender pants, tights, gloves, and hats. When we saw the Essential Teen Study Bible at a local bookstore, I could immediately tell that my 11-year-old was interested. The soft leather cover is gorgeous and very "grown-up." The text is a nice size (not as tiny as many Bibles). The Bible also includes tools for understanding like introductions to each book of the Bible, memory verses, essential questions, behind the story features, and full-color study maps. Although I haven't read all of the included notes and special features, I appreciated that the tone is more academic and less topical/opinion-driven. In other words, you won't find a devotional about dating or peer pressure. It's also super smart that the publishing company did not put the word "teen" on the spine of the Bible. This focus helps the Bible have greater appeal with teens and to be relevant to more audiences.
