Christmas Gift Guide: Nursing Bra by Bravado Designs

If you know a nursing mom, then you know a nursing mom who needs a new nursing bra.

Here's why. Nursing bras are expensive so most moms only have 1 or 2. Nursing bras also don't last forever so moms of multiples often have bras that have lost their gumption if you know what I mean.

Christmas Gift Guide: Nursing Bra by Bravado Designs 1If you have a sister, best friend, cousin, or daughter who is nursing, I recommend the Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra ($49.00) by Bravado Designs. Because of its super easy sizing, you're almost certain to get an exact fit for the recipient. Available in 4 colors, the bra is both stretchy and supportive (it really does give you a little extra lift). Also, it comes with removable foam pads if you want extra lining or need to insert breast pads. I have the Berry Burst colored one [pictured] and it's quickly become one of my favorites!

Christmas Gift Guide: Nursing Bra by Bravado Designs 2Another gift idea to consider is the Essential Nursing Bra Tank ($49.00). It's a tank with a built-in bra so that you can have support without having to wear a separate bra - awesome for moms with a B cup or higher. I especially love this one in Jade - such a deep, rich color.

If you are a nursing mom, how many nursing bras do you own? What nursing bra is your absolute favorite and why?

Christmas Gift Guide: Nursing Bra by Bravado Designs 3WIN IT! One winner will receive either the Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra ($49) or the Essential Nursing Bra Tank ($49) - her choice! To enter, leave any topic-related comment on this post prior to Saturday, December 11th at 11:59 p.m. All generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified. 1. Ha! I don't even know how many nursing bras I have, but I don't have any that still hold anything up, in, etc. I'm nursing my third child and my nursing bras are all from my first child. I have actually worn regular bras recently, which is painful when I try to hike it up to nurse! I'd love a nice, new nursing bra!

  2. Don't have any- i just use a regular tank with the skinny straps that pull down easily for nursing

  3. these look great! My current nursing tanks are getting a little too well worn!

thanks for hosting such a great contest!

  4. There are so many things an expectant mother needs :) I hope to breastfeed when I have kids so this would be a good investment. I would rather have a few quality bras that are comfortable AND supportive. It is so hard to find bras that do both!

  5. I own three but they are old and worn out. Do you feel like the nursing tank has enough support? Is it low? It always struck me as more of a "pajama" item.

    1. It has enough support because it has a built-in bra inside (you order based on your bra size - not S, M L).

It is definitely low-cut. I only wear it to bed. :)

  6. I am currently pregnant and I do not have any nursing bras, which is why I was so excited about your giveaway. Thank you for the lovely giveaway.

  7. These look very comfortable! I nursed by daughter for a year, and I plan on nursing my son (who is due in March) as well. Thanks!

  8. I am due to give birth to my second son any day now and I plan on breastfeeding. I only have one nursing bra so I'd love to win this giveaway. My old one was from my first son and it's ratty and stained. Thanks for the contest! codisweepstakes2 (@) gmail(dot)com

  9. i am a nursing momma. i own two and if you could believe it, it's the bravado one you're showing. one in white. one in black. and yes, they've lost their "gumption". but they're so darn pricey! as my hubby says, sure we save money on not buying formula but there's all this other stuff you need to buy. nursing bras, nursing cover, etc. etc..... i reminded him of the benefits of nursing before i gave him the stink eye. :P

  10. I am expecting #2 in a few weeks so a new nursing bra would rock! I have two nursing bras from when I was pregnant with my daughter...they are from Motherhood Maternity but they aren't my favorite...I have yet to find a favorite nursing bra to be honest with you!

  11. Breastfeeding is so important to me and my family. I love Bravado Designs so much because they make quality pretty bras for all sizes, as I have a hard time finding nursing bras in general because of my size, let alone pretty ones =)

  12. I had one of these when I was nursing and I was just telling my newly pregnant friend about it the other day. I would love to win one for her! Bravado is awesome! Thank you!

  13. No nursing bras for me (yet), but my friend just had a baby this week, and I know she could use this. Good to have a recommendation for a quality product!

  14. I was a nursing mom for 13 months and will be again in about 30 weeks or so! I think I had 2 good bras and 1-2 not so good bras, but NONE were this good and they're definitely on my list this time around (I threw all of my old ones away last time!)

  15. i nursed for almost 2 years and bravado is my fave brand hands down. They are expensive but soooo worth it. The other brands just really disappointed me.

  16. I am due with my first baby in about a week, so right now I only have one nursing bra, I would love to try one from Bravado Designs...mine is from Babies R Us.

  17. I own three, they're from Target, and I need some new ones! I have a really really hard time finding ones that are comfortable as well as have good nursing access and support me at the same time.

  18. I've heard great things about Bravado. I'd love to try them. I'm in the market for some nice nursing bras as I'm due in March, so these would be a HUGE help!

  19. So I probably have 8 nursing bras and all of them are worthless except for my Bravado bra! I wish I hadn't wasted money on all of those other ones. I wear it ALL THE TIME. So much so that I probably don't wash it nearly enough, don't tell anybody. I would love another one, that pink one in the picture is super cute!

  20. I am a nursing mom and own three nursing bras. two target brand and one bravado that a friend let me have. I absolutely love the bravado one!

  21. I'm a nursing mom with only one nursing bra...wanna know why? Because I had two, but one of them broke last week. Nice huh. I would love the chance to win a comfortable, supportive, reliable nursing bra. Thanks for the opportunity.

  22. When I was nursing, I only ever had 2 or maybe 3 nursing bras, and never one that I was terribly thrilled with. BUT, I did LOVE my nursing cami, and recommend it as a MUST for all new mommies! I'd love to win one for my youngest sister, expecting her first in February!

  23. I am not nursing yet but have been told by friends how important nursing wear is so I would love to win this to start my collection.

  24. I would love a new nursing bra! I am 26 weeks with my second pregnancy and while breast feeding was difficult the first time around - I didn't make enough milk and had to supplement - I am believing that it will be better this time. Would love to breast feed for a year instead of just 4 months.

  25. I simply love the relationship you have with Bravado and all the giveaways you do for them! I was wearing my Bravado bra yesterday and was just thinking how amazing it was. Really a great product. I have a few from Target, but they don't come anywhere near the Bravado.
    Thanks, Stephanie!

  26. My sister just had her baby. And she had been nursing mom for the past 6 years. I'm just 21 and I don't know the feeling of wearing a nursing bra. When I saw this site, I know that this will help my sister with her nursing problems with regards to her new baby:)

  27. I don't need to be entered in this giveaway...my nursing days are over...BUT the Bravado is the only nursing bra that I wound up using every day and that was a good fit, comfortable, and felt good and helped me not look like a saggy nursing mom.

  28. I have two Bravado Nursing bras and I love them! By far my favorite is the Allure underwire bra. And you are right, a mom always could use another one and one that hasn't gone thru multiple kids!

  29. My first time breastfeeding I just used cheap sports bras. Not a good idea. I didn't realize how bad they were until I breastfed my second child using ACTUAL nursing bras. Soooooo much better. I used a motherhood maternity one but my favorite was one that I boutght at Target. I have a good friend that just found out she is pregnant with twins. She could really use this prize so I will give it to her if I win :)

  30. oh you're so right - nursing bras are ridiculously expensive! I have 3 - one that I hate and hardly ever wear. And the other two are awesome - Pea in the Pod... I think they would not work for larger chested women though... but I find them to be super comfy! :) Thanks for this awesome giveaway! :)

  31. I am currently nursing my second daughter and my nursing bras are seriously lacking! I just bought target specials and they are not the best quality to say the least! I could really use a new, well fitting bra.

  32. I'm a nursing mom and this is my 3rd child. I can honestly say I have never owned a nursing bra! I always wear these uncomfortable bras that I pack away with my maternity stuff because they're too big for me normally. They are not great, but they sort of do the job. A real nursing bra would kind of be nice!

  33. I have been looking for some new styles of nursing bras. The ones I currently own already seem very worn after only a couple of months use.

  34. A good nursing bra is so hard to find! Wait, scratch that. An AFFORDABLE, good nursing bra is hard to find. Right before or right after the birth of each my children I go on a hunt. I'm on the small end when it comes to cup sizes so I still find Target and Motherhood my best bets because I don't need a ton of support. My only complaint: Why can't they prettier?!

  35. I am expecting in two months and don't have any nursing bras (or totally understand what they are yet, to be honest). Everyone keeps telling me I need to get some, so this would be perfect!

  36. so i'm going on 2 years and 2 months of nursing at this point, and i desperately need a new nursing bra. but i keep thinking, 'she'll stop nursing soon- why waste the money on a new bra?' ha! it hasn't happened yet!

  37. I had two Bravado nursing tanks when I was nursing my first son and I loved them! Now that I am expecting my second, a new nursing bra would be great to have.

  38. They are SO expensive! My cost supportive ine is a Medela, but so hideous. I would love a bpBravado, they see gorgeous and nice quality!

  39. Right now I only have one nursing bra and it fits a little snug. The one I bought with my first son was too big so I was trying to make sure that didn't happen again. I need support and at least the one I have this time fits a little better. The support with my current bra isn't the best but what do you expect from a $15 bra...support and lift are much needed. ;)

  40. Baby number one is due January 24th so this is something I haven't had to delve into before. :-) Currenty shopping around to see what there is available to use as I plan on breastfeeding.

      1. Yay! Thank you so much - I'm looking forward to perusing it, it will be very helpful I'm sure! I need to start figuring everything out - I'm sure these last 7 weeks will go by very quickly and I'll run out of time if I'm not careful. :-)

  41. Next month I'll begin my 7th nursing journey. I am definitely in the market for a new nursing bra. I only have one leftover and it is not very supportive :) These look wonderful! Love the beautiful colors!

  42. I have a handful of nursing bras that were given to me as hand-me-downs. I don't really love any of them, because they're all kind of shapeless at this point, but they were free. :) A new nursing bra would be awesome!!

  43. I currently own three very cheap nursing bras and I have each and every one of them. My daughter is 23 months old and I have never had a good nursing bra. When she was first born I didn't buy a nice bra because I wasn't sure how breastfeeding was going to go, it didn't look good. And then as time when on I just resigned myself to cheap bras. I really need to do something nice for myself and buy a good bra because it doesn't look like we are going to be done with our breastfeeding relationship for a lot longer, which is super fine with me. Or I need to win one. :)

  44. While I am no longer nursing, I would have LOVED a really nice one. I always stuck with the JCPenny's bras. They had a sports one that was absolutely WONDERFUL during those first engorged weeks, and then after that for days when I wasn't leaving the house and at night. I have a pregnant sister-in-law. Their family is extremely financially strapped as her hubby works through PT school. This is her third baby (she has a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old). This would be amazing for her. Thanks for the tip!

  45. I haven't nursed, but I have heard many nursing bra-related complaints from my two sisters. My third sister is expecting her first baby at the end of January. I know she'd make good use of this bra.

  46. Well I kept my two Bravado bra's from the first time around (even though they are threadbare!) and ordered another one for my Christmas gift since #2 is arriving sometime in the next 5 weeks! I would love to try their nursing tanks, but nursing bra's/tanks ARE expensive. I adore bravado and think they are so comfy! I recommend them to all my friends - even if you can only afford one - one good bra is better than 5 uncomfortable ones!

  47. I had two nursing bras that I tried to make last through nursing my first baby ... but when I decided to keep nursing beyond 12 months, they definitely had to go ... so now I just have one, I wash it quickly and then put it back on! It's so hard to find a good one that fits, is comfortable, looks OK under clothing, and still allows for easy access.

  48. I currently use the Bravado nursing tanks under other shirts, but I'm not 100% satisfied with them. For me, they are too low cut to wear by themselves except for around the house, and I have trouble doing the latch with one hand, especially my non-dominant hand. I ordered a Bravado Bliss recently, but I am in the process or exchanging it for the next cup size up otherwise I really liked it (different clips than the tanks.) I used the cheap Walmart brand ones for the first couple weeks until my ribcage shrunk back down and they no longer have my size.

I've had problems with small/medium/large sizing - my cup size needs a larger size than my band sizing. (I'm a 34F/G depending on how the bra fits.)

It's terribly difficult to find smaller band sizes with large cup sizes locally - there's actually nowhere in my small town that carries my size. If anyone is looking for a good website to order from I've had good luck with BreakoutBras.com. (Hope you don't mind me putting that out there Stephanie. I am not affiliated just a previous customer.) They carry Bravado as well as some of the other quality brands in a variety of sizes.

  49. I'm about to become a nursing mom and have already purchased several nursing bras. So far it seems like the most comfortable ones will be the sleep bras, although the berry one pictured above does look good!

  50. I think i have two nursing bras, but they are both the wrong size and so I pretty much only wear tanks. I did just ask for some bravado nursing bras for christmas though!

  51. I have cheap nursing bras. I'm curious if these are made for women of all sizes. (I plan to go check out their website after my comment :))

I did lov e my nighttime nursing bras. They were soft and worked really well.

  52. I'm not sure if I should try to post again? I posted already and it isn't showing? And my entries into your other two contests showed right away?

I would like this for my daughter who is nursing her son. I know she could use this as she only has one nursing bra. :)

  53. Yes, well said. Nursing bras are so expensive and nursing moms need more than a couple. I haven't had the chance to try one from Bravado as they are quite spendy however they always have such great reviews and they do look comfy too. What a nice treat for a nursing mommy!

  54. I have two bras that I wear right now as I am nursing my sweet little 4 month old. Yes, just TWO! Aaaand, one isn't a nursing bra, and they're both so old I used them when I nursed my last baby :/ um, I think I need to go out and get some new ones! Lol. I've always had my eye on this brand but never broke down and bought it. Hm. I'm thinking I should ;)

  55. I have paid small fortunes for nursing bras. The unfortunate thing is that for some reason the bras I had with my first don't fit me this time around!? So weird. This time I went off to purchase those bras again in different sizes only to find they were not made anymore. I have a few different brands, all $40+. Honestly, I was on vacation and in Walmart a few months back and just grabbed one of theirs to have an extra on our trip. It is hands down my favorite nursing bra! $12.99!!! You can buy them online also with $.97 shipping.

I have to add though, I have good handful of Bravado nursing bras and I had an issue with one of them. I called Bravado and left a message. They called me right back and shipped me a new one over night for free, no questions asked. Awesome!! They get my good "word of mouth"!

  56. I just had this conversation with one of my sisters this morning when she asked me what I wanted for Christmas! She didn't even bat an eye when I said a nursing bra- what a good sister, right? :) She doesn't have kids though, so now I'm sending her the link to this post because this is exactly what I'm looking for! I have 4 nursing bras, I hate all of them, and my baby is only 7 months old so we've got some months to go!

  57. I so agree that all nursing moms need a new bra. I have two that I use at night, and two that I use during the day. The day ones are about to go into early retirement. That Body Silk bra looks comfortable AND supportive.

  58. I had a bra that had removable straps so that they could be crossed in the back if you chose a shirt that shape. I decided to use that as one of my nursing bras. It was a pain to undo the side because it wasn't meant for nursing and was not a one-handed job. And the bra was not designed to be folded down for baby access. I don't think I still have that bra, but I am sure it got really beat up. If you are nursing, please just buy a good nursing bra instead of making do with what you have.
