Christmas Gift Guide: Photo Art by EZ Canvas

Christmas Gift Guide: Photo Art by EZ Canvas 1Some of our best friends recently had their 1st baby [see left]. Don't you just love it when your friends have babies? Now they finally GET IT when there is noise in the background on the phone or you show up to dinner with a macaroni noodle on your shirt.

Check out the adorable canvas print we recently made for their family on EZ Canvas. The idea is simple. Submit a photo. Pick your size and mounting of choice. Voila! A pristine and jaw-dropping piece of art will arrive at your doorstep in 2-5 days.

Canvas art is an ideal gift for most anyone - a newlywed couple, a college student, a family with a new baby, a grandparent, etc. It's sure to be one of the most-talked-about gifts of the year...all year.

Here's a photo of their canvas on the wall:

  1. I would have a picture of my children put on the canvas. We like to do formal sittings and casual with all three, so I'd have fun picking just the perfect picture. I really like your friends' picture!

  2. Wow, the quality of the canvas looks great and I love how simple it is to order! I love how a canvas has such a nice finished look to it! Thanks!

  3. This would be so perfect, I have a great picture in mind of my two kids together out on our hike last weekend...it would be so good on a canvas up in our living room!

  4. This? "Also, if you buy a 16X20 EZ Canvas and then share a brief testimonial, you can get another 16×20 EZ Canvas FREE" is SUPER AWESOME! I've read a lot on these canvas portraits but I have yet to pull the trigger. I have the perfect picture too. And even a spot! And what a SUPER gift idea.

  5. I love the idea of a canvas print of a family photo - gives it the vibe of being a real piece of art. And the raised effect it has on a wall is pretty fantastic as well.

  6. What a beautiful gift! I do love it when my friends have babies, I love seeing them experience that overwhelming love and joy (and it's true, you can't understand how VERY busy it is until you've been there).

  7. Oh, I have a picture of the kids playing on the beach I have been wanting to be enlarged, but I haven't done it yet. Now I think I want to get it on canvas instead! Thanks for giving me that idea.

  8. We already have a few canvas pictures. They just light up our living room and they are so personal to our family. I have a wonderful photo of my mom, daughter, and son on the beach with the sun going down that would be perfect to be make into canvas.

  9. These are so beautiful! My family just took some Christmas pictures in front of the tree and I would love to win one of these so that I could have a beautiful canvas of my family to display every holiday season! Thanks!

  10. You just saved Christmas! ;) Well, okay, at least my sanity. I didn't know what to get for my mother-in-law, but this is a great idea. And then I can leave a review & get one for me, too lol

  11. I know exactly the picture I would pick for this would be of my 2 year old son sucking his thimb laying his head on his baby sister while she is sleeping. I think this would make a perfect gift for dad or grandparents!

  12. I just recently did a photoshoot with my 4-yr old at The Greenbrier resort in WV. The snow was falling outside and the photos turned out great. I would love to have the photo put on canvas to display in my home.

  13. That was so sweet of you to give your friends that gift. It's something they can treasure forever!! I've been searching for a pic to turn into a canvas. They make such a personal addition to the home.

  14. " I had no idea something like this even existed! It is a great idea and it is a beautiful picture. We still haven't printed a large picture from our wedding to hang, so this might just be it for us! Thank you for letting us know about these things, I too sometimes wish we didn't do gifts for Christmas because I feel the true reason of Christmas gets forgotten and we decided to do purchases of such items like this that we need and could use."

  15. My daughter is planning on getting another family portrait made after Christmas since baby #2 is 18-mos. now. I know she'd love to have a canvas print of it. On the other hand, I can already think of a couple of photos of the babies that I might like to have a canvas print of!

  16. I have a lot of small framed photos but it looks a little cluttered. I would love to replace them with a few large canvas photos.

  17. Ok that baby is too CUTE!!

I need to get one of these of my son! We have a huge picture of my daughter (that she won in a contest!) But my son don't have one! Poor thing, lol.

So I better order one of these before he thinks she is my favorite!!

  18. Oh man, I have THE perfect picture I would love to have printed on canvas! It will be our Christmas card photo this year so no, it's not been on the blog yet! ;)

  19. What a great way to display your favorite snap shots or to give away as presents. Grandmothers always love pictures of their grandchildren.

  20. Wow-this is so much more affordable than the other photo shops I have browsed. I would love to do a photo of all my grandchildren!

  21. oh how i love these...what a classy way to display a favorite photo! i (like you) love tobe behind the lens taking photos of my twins... i have a pic in mind that would look neat on a canvas!!

  22. Those things are so cool, ditto to so many others comment, this would be perfect for the grandparents Christmas gift, especially my husband's parents who are 9 hours away and don't get to see our little guy very often!

  23. I have to agree with several other commenters that this would be a great Christmas present for a grandma! Noel and I were just talking the other day though about how we have a lot of pics up, and how he'd like to have more art. Maybe this would be a good compromise if we kept it for ourselves! :)

  24. We just had a family photo session with a back drop of fluttery golden leaves in the high-stretched sycamores. There's an amazing one that I'd love to put in our living room so that the bare walls of this apartment feels more like our home instead of this box where we eat and sleep. I just need to get on this project...thanks for the giveaway, Stephanie!

  25. I love photo canvases! I first saw one when my husband and I were meeting with our wedding photographer a few years ago - she had a few of her daughter. They're super awesome!

  26. I think that if i were to win the photo I would choose is a pic of my husband from when he was a little boy. He looked really cute in the pic, I think he was about 7 and it would be nice to have in our home. He might think it's so great but I think so. :-)

  27. I would have my entire walls covered by canvas. They are timeless and beautiful! I would LOVE to win one and try out a new company!! Just ordered one from Canvas By Demand and am anxious to see the quality.

  28. I would love to give this to my parents for Christmas with their grandkids on it....thanks for the chance to win...

  29. I love photos on canvas. They always turn out amazing. If I was to win this the problem is I would have to get the whole family's picture taken together!

  30. I'm really wanting to make one of these for my mom. We live overseas and I know it's so hard for her to be away from her grandkids. I'd love to be able to give her one of these while we're home for Christmas. She would love it!

  31. This is amazing. I have just the photo. I had it printed in an 8 x 10 but never found the right mat and frame. I love that it arrives ready to hang.

  32. We don't have any family photos that are larger than the standard picture size. I would love to be able to put one of our family up in our living room.

  33. I love these! I remember the post you did with your picture on it! The hardest part would be deciding what picture to choose to put on a canvas! This is also a great gift idea!!

  34. This is fabulous! I have seen the canvas photo art popping up in friend's living rooms lately - it really makes a great photo look stunning and "more than" the typical framed enlargement, you know! Again, a great gift for the person who has everything! :)

  35. That is such a wonderful gift! And a great alternative to photos in frames. I cannot wait to see what else you have in store for us.

  36. I would love to have a canvas of my son to hang on the wall! That canvas looks beautiful and the prize is a good size too! It would look great on my wall!

  37. I much prefer photos mounted on canvas rather than in a picture frame. Definitely adds artistic flair! Unfortunately, it is usually pricey.

  38. Ooh! After 8.5 years of marriage we're "expecting" our first (by adoption) in February. Our first family picture would be so cool like this! Thanks for the giveaway!

  39. We just had photos taken of our two daughters together and it would be so nice to have a large copy of one up on our wall!

  40. I had to look at that first photo a few times before I realized what I was looking at. Talk about quality! I'm a picture-freak, if you will. I'd love to have more up around the house but don't like putting them all in frames. This would be a great way ti display a few really precious photos.

  41. I have seen these before and have always been intrigued by them. I think I might use it for a photo of my children, or our new soon-to-be-adopted daughter. It would be fun to create, I'm sure!

  42. I LOVE when people have their pictures on canvas. I am a photographer and have wanted to do this for myself for so long, but I can't seem to spend the money on one. They can be really expensive! They look so good, though.

  43. I have actually been meaning to get one of these for a while now, they look so amazing! What a unique way to turn your digital picture into a different type of art!

  44. I would love to have a canvas picture of Addy...the only problem would be choosing the picture! She now loves pictures of herself, and one in particular of her when she was about 3 1/2 months old always makes her go "Oooooh, Wooo, wooo!" It is so cute! Maybe I should let her choose the picture...This is a really great baby gift too!

  45. I love this idea for right over my 19mo's crib because if I put a bigger frame up there I'm always afraid she's going to pull it down and the glass will shatter everywhere and hurt her.

P.S. What a great baby gift, Stephanie! So creative and unexpected!

  46. Ohmygosh. There are about a zillion pictures I'd LOVE to have made into canvas prints. I would love to have a picture of my dad riding his tricycle as a three year old, and a picture of my grandfather when he was 4 dressed up like a cowboy put on canvas to decorate our nursery. I adore pictures of babies and small children and think that they are a sweet way to decorate kiddos rooms. My grandparents decorated their basement with GIGANTIC black and white poster sized prints of their 6 children as high schoolers (each kid was featured playing their "sport") and my cousins and I were always so drawn to them. I love decorating with vintage pictures of loved ones. Help me do it, please!!!! Hehehe!!

These are links to the pics I would love to canvas up:

    1. I love the oversized poster idea - especially in black + white. Homes just seem so much...well...homier with pictures on-display.

  47. Oh my gosh! I LOVE THIS IDEA :) Pictures gifts are the best gifts you can give! They really do have a lot of meaning and thoughfulness behind them. I would love to give my mother this wonderful gift with a picture of our family. She is going through a rough time with a family member being sick and I know this present would light up her face and mean the world to her. Thanks for doing this giveaway! I am definitely going to check this out!!!

  48. Ooohhh! I am looking around at various canvas printing shops right now, and hadn't heard of this one! I need to do three for our living room, might have to check them out!

  49. I've been looking endlessly for picture frames I like with no luck yet. There are several pics I'd like to get up and I think this might be a better solution! It would be even better if I'd win it!

  50. Funny you should post this. I was just thinking about a photo-related gift for the in-laws. I had been looking at those cool photo books, but this is a great idea too. Thanks for the tip!

  51. Great gift idea! I think it would be a great gift for my father-in-law for Christmas. I would like to have his favorite picture of my late mother-in-law made into a canvas for him to hang on the wall in his room at Friend's Home.
    Thanks for the great suggestion!

  52. I love how simple this sounds! (even I could possibly create something great!!) I would love to have a huge canvas of my daughter with our 2 week old baby boy!

  53. I love your canvas of your family and would LOVE one of mine to hang on the way! We have taken some pretty cool pictures lately of the kids that would be perfect on a canvas! I really like that they are offering two for the price of one if we leave a comment on their website!

I'm crossing my fingers for this one (my toes too)

  54. When my sister was a kid she wanted to be a photographer when she grew up. In the end, she went with a more "practical" profession, a paralegal. But with three adorable little kids now, she has plenty of opportunities to be behind the camera. I'd love to gift this to her, so she can show off one of her works of art.

  55. I'd love to use this to make a print of one of our engagement photos to give to my fiance's parents! I love that it comes with a protective coating.

  56. This is so cool. It's like back in the day when people had a painting made of them. This is a way cool idea for Christmas or anytime.

  57. Most of my friends at this stage in life are either newly married or already have kids. I have very few single friends. I have a couple, but life is just so different for each of us. I love the canvas! I have wanted to do one for a while, but the price is a little steep....so how nice would it be to win one! :)

  58. GREAT idea! The only "canvas" type picture I have is of my wedding...and I love it! But that was done by my photographer that cost $$$. When baby #4 comes...I would love to do this for a whole family picture, a nice keepsake for sure! :)

  59. I bought my first canvas print a few months ago, and am amazed at the depth that it gives the picture! We just had family photos taken, and I am planning on putting a few canvases up in my family room... this would be a perfect start!

  60. I think it would be nice to finally get a wedding picture done. We've been married two and a half years and I still don't have any more than the snapshots people sent us after the wedding!

  61. I love these prints - if we happened to win this giveaway I'd have to talk Hubby into letting someone take a few pictures of us as a family so we could have that to hang on the wall. Hubby despises having his picture taken so we have lots of pictures of the kids and not many of all four of us together.

  62. This is an amazing gift idea.

What a way to capturew a moment in time that really stands out. My favorite way to decorate is to use personal family photos. This would work perfectly in our home or even for my parents :)

  63. Amazing! My daughter just gifted our family with our grandson. He is 3 weeks old. He joins our precious Natalie who is 3 1/2. This would be so wonderful for them. Fingers and toes crossed! GLA

  64. This would be a perfect gift for grandparents. We all love pictures of our darling little ones! Great material Stephanie, enjoy reading it. Have fun on your road trip life adventure. What a great way to see the country. Sue

  65. That is fantastic! I love that its ready to hang too, I have a bunch of prints waiting to be framed but I never find exactly what I'm looking for or completely forget. Then I've got more recent pictures to put up, and the lovely old ones never get taken of their envelopes.

  66. I have just the photo to put on canvas. We took it this weekend at Cienega Creek. I had an 11x14 made but I'd prefer a canvas over a framed print. Cool gift idea!
