confessions of a dental delinquent

Raise your hand if you brush twice a day, floss at least once a day, and see a dentist every 6 months.

I don't see many hands (okay, I don't see any hands since this is a virtual survey...). Oh, wait, Caryn Bailey, you can keep your hand raised because I know that you do, in fact, follow those guidelines with perfect consistency.

I, on the other hand, am well-intentioned, but don't always do all three. For example, I try to floss every day, but I don't always get around to it. Sometimes I'm just so exhausted at the end of the day that doing just one more thing is completely overwhelming.

But it only takes two minutes, you say. That, however, is precisely the problem. Everything just takes two minutes. Shower. Clip nails. Apply lotion. Brush hair. Shave legs. Write thank-you note. Put away the laundry. Load the dishwasher. Pick up toys. Read last chapter of the book on my nightstand. Etc. I only have so many "two minute" moments so I have to choose them wisely. And, sometimes - sadly - flossing falls off my radar.

I try to make up for my "lack" by using a high-end toothbrush, gargling with mouthwash, and avoiding coffee and soda.

The high-end toothbrush part helps a lot, I think. Those motorized brushes really seem to make a difference in removing plaque and keeping cavities at bay. I have a $140 toothbrush that is awesome...but that's pretty pricey for the "average jane."

oral-b pulsonicWhat if you want a really good toothbrush that uses sonic technology that is UNDER $100? Consider the Oral-B Pulsonic. It's a super slim toothbrush that promises big results: it claims to "reduce 94% of surface stains in just two weeks." It also comes with a lot of the same features as more expensive models including a two-minute timer and a rechargeable battery. I've been using the brush now for about two weeks and I appreciate the fact that it's lightweight, quiet, and easy to hold. The bristles don't seem to move quite as quickly and intensely as my other sonic toothbrush, but it seems to do a good job, regardless. In fact, I just went and brushed my teeth with it again and my teeth now have that "I just went to the dentist" feel. Hmmm...maybe I should review toothbrushes and dental accessories more often...just writing about the topic motivates me.

WIN IT! One winner will receive an Oral-B Pulsonic toothbrush ($69.99). To enter, leave any topic-related comment on this post prior to Tuesday, June 16 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.).

*UPDATE* The winner is #191 joel. Congratulations!

  1. In spite of brushing at least twice a day, flossing daily and going to dentist twice a year I still have a small area of peridontal disease. This would help

  2. I religiously brush my teeth twice a day, but I don't like to floss, and I hate going to the dentist. Nothing personal if you're a dentist, unless you are the dentist who decided not to pull my tooth when I was in third grade, but didn't think to tell me! I found out from my mom after spending however long in the chair with my mouth open that he just gave me a filling!

  3. Oh, my hand is up there! I get so tired of dentists seeing a new swimming pool when I open my mouth. What-EVER. When is that cavity-inoculation going to be here?!

  4. These are the greatest powered toothbrushes around. I have one! Would love to have an extra one for the other bath!

  5. I am a dental delinquent. I have an obsessive fear of the dentist, so I do try to take care of my teeth, but I have fallen into the two minute abyss. My dentist keeps telling me I should use an electric toothbrush, but there always seems to take priority. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  6. I've heard great things about Oral-B Pulsonic an am looking for a new toothbrush, I'm most attracted to the fact that it removes stains.

  7. Thanks for the giveaway...I was unaware that Oral-B made a "sonic" type electric toothbrush, my interest is piqued; we use Oral-B manual brushes, the powered one we used to have was too aggressive on my gums and my wife didn't like spending $25 bucks per replacement brush-head; we floss 2-3X a week, especially after movie night i.e. popcorn !!!

  8. My old sonicare electric brush died on me about a month ago. And to top everything off I went to the dentist today and they want $900 (after insurance)to take out my wisdom teeth!! Healthy teeth are expensive!

  9. I don’t brush long enough because it’s boring using a manual toothbrush. This toothbrush sounds like it would be a lot of fun to use which means I’ll brush longer. Thanks for the giveaway :)

  10. I would love to give this to my husband. We both try to take good care of our teeth. This toothbrush is great!

  11. Using an Oral B makes your teeth feel like you just left the dentist office. I used mine until it wouldn't go anymore and that was many many years. I asked the Easter Bunny, then Cupid and I guess I wasn't a good mother. No one will gift me a new tooth brush. Thank you for the chance to win one!

  12. I have tried to brush 3x a day but it seems impossible to do so at work. I also use mouthwash and floss daily. Great to have an electric toothbrush, I like it better.

  13. I'm afraid I'm also a dental delinquent. I do brush but rarely floss, usually just the week of my upcoming dental appointment & the week after when I still have good intentions. Maybe this toothbrush would help.

  14. My dentist keeps telling me I should get an electric toothbrush. Wouldn't he be happy if I won one? :-)

  15. some people have good teeth and don't have to do anything. i do not have good teeth so i have to floss and brush and work to try to keep my teeth. as soon as i finish eating i start to work on my teeth. a new toothbrush will help me with my maintenance.

  16. wow that looks like an awesome product that would get the job done right.i have tried the crest spin brushes but i didnt care for them.this looks like it would make your mouth feel really good :)

  17. I’d love to own one of these! My dentist just gave me the talk the other day about needing to brush a little better.

  18. This would be a great toothbrush to have. I am definetly neglegent on seeing the dentist and as a busy mom as well.. sometimes I forget about myself. Thanks for the great contest.

  19. I like that this has a rather small base. Some other electric toothbrushes have such a large base that it takes up all available space on a vanity countertop -- not good.

  20. I have lost a few molars due to medical problems that I have such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, systemic lupus, Sjogren's Syndrome, and high acid levels. Would love the opportunity to win!

  21. I cant even remember the last time i have ever been to the dentist, ack thats terriable!!!
I would love to have this toothbrush to help with my nasty help needing teeth! lol

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. oooh, my teeth would love this!! I don't floss, so this would give them a little more TLC.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  23. I am sooo bad at flossing, and I know that this would be a great help. I haven't been to the dentist in 4 years - I have a REAL phobia. Had a bad experience when I was a kid, plus my dentist's hand tasted like cigarettes when I was a kid - YUK!!
Thanks for the chance to win.

  24. I once took a self-test where I brushed my teeth with a regular toothbrush and then put one of those pink tablets in my mouth to show the areas I had missed or not brushed very well. I then did the same test using an electric toothbrush. And the results? Well, now when I go to the dentist and afterwards they hand me a toothbrush I just give it back... :)

  25. Yup, that's me too! I don't always find the time to floss either, so this would help me to do a better job than with a manual toothbrush!

  26. I am a huge coffee fanatic so I know my teeth have stains that my regular toothbrush is just not capable of removing. I would love a chance to use this Oral-B Pulsonic toothbrush on my teeth to help get them in cleaner healthier condition. Thanks so much for the chance to enter.

  27. I have been using a drugstore version electronic toothbrush, I think it is called the Crest SpinBrush pro. I don't find that it helps much more than a regular toothbrush though, just requires less effort!! This Oral-B electronic toothbrush looks fantastic.

  28. The Oral-B Pulsonic toothbrush is the best out there! I would love it for my daughter in hopes it would get her brushing better.

:) Thank you for the wonderful giveaway! :)

  29. My dentist recommended this toothbrush. He said that this does a much better job than manually brushing teeth.

  30. I would love to win this great toothnrush. I too do the bare minimun whenit comes to oral hygine-brushing, moothwash and flossing. There is never enough time between the family and worl.

  31. I hate the dentist! I'm sure if I had this the visits would be much easier to bear if my teeth were cleaner!

  32. Well said on the everything "takes just 2 minutes".
I have only ever used a "manual" toothbrush. I keep meaning to get tech toothbrush, but I haven't! After reading your review on getting that just been to the dentist teeth cleaning feeling,I think this is gonna but my next requested gift for B'day/or Christmas

  33. Alright, so I admit that I am pretty compulsive when it comes to dental hygiene. Which means that I have had my eye on sonic technology toothbrushs for ages! I've never had enough money saved up to splurge and buy it myself, but man oh man would I ever appreciate having one!

Thanks for a fabulous, healthy contest!

  34. Awesome contest! I try my very best to brush and floss twice a day. Sometimessssssss though I get to busy and miss a time or two :)

  35. I haven't been to the dentist in quite a while as I lost my dental insurance. Luckily I have dental insurance coming up in a few months at my new job, but in the meantime, this would definitely help out my poor teeth.

  36. I use to have a toothbrush like this, and I wore it out. Of course, I did have it a LONG time. I bought a cheapy electric brush as a replacement, and it is not the same. I'd love to win this one. They really leave your teeth with a clean feeling you don't get anywhere else.

  37. I actually do brush twice a day, floss every day and see my dentist every six months. I'm no hygeine goody-two-shoes though, I'm just horribly frightened of cavities and all the pain that goes along with them! I'll do anything to avoid dental work! lol!

  38. This Oral-B Pulsonic toothbrush looks swell. I've never had one so would luv to try it, thanks.

    skyskyaa11(at)gmail.com

  39. I brush my teeth twice a day but I don't floss very often and I haven't been to the dentist in a while. This toothbrush would come in handy.

  40. I could use a toothbrush like this! My average $3 toothbrush just isn't doing it.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

    JH33194(underscore)2002(at)yahoo.com

  41. My periodontist told me this brush would make a big difference in my gum health but I can't afford to buy one.

  42. I really could use an excellent toothbrush such as this!Right now I am using a cheap Dollar Store one!

    ahdrad2932(at)msn(dot)com

  43. Dh's electric toothbrush is so old that the battery is going. It has to be charged about once a week now instead of once every other month or so. He could really use a new one. Thank you!

  44. I need to brush and floss more, luckily I've never had cavities or anything but I do miss a day here or there due to being busy or not being home. Definately going to set a little goal for myself to brush at least twice a day.

  45. I used to be a lot more disciplined, I guess I've become lazy about brushing for the right amount of time... this would make the experience a bit more fun and I could do a better job of cleaning.

  46. I am trying to improve my dental habits and am doing a pretty good job. I don't have dental insurance right now and don't want to have any unnecessary expenses!

  47. My most recent Oral b toothbrush has finally given out. And it is back to manual for me. So this would be so perfect for me.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

  48. Oh good, so I don't have to be embarrassed that I am a lazy flosser too? I wish, wish, wish I were better. BUT, when I do get in to see the dentist, I'm always told my teeth look good. Maybe it's the flossing religiously from the moment I make the appointment until I see him? =)

  49. I used to own a Sonicare toothbrush years ago and have been wanting a similar electric toothbrush ever since! This one looks so nice! Thanks for the chance to win!

  50. It is impossible to put a price on good dental care. Your teeth and oral health are so important to your overall health and well being.

    madamerkf at aol dot com

  51. I have never tried anything, but a normal standard toothbrush, so this would be a great change.

  52. I've been meaning to get an electric toothbrush for some time now. I'd love to win this as opposed to having to purchase one.

  53. My hand is raised - okay I admit sometimes it may be 7-8 months before I go back to the dentist - depends on how busy I am at work!
    Thanks

  54. I could definitely use this, I always cringe when I go to the dentist and have to have the "you really should floss more..." speech. I know, I know.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  55. I was so much better at this kind of thing BEFORE children. It started in my pregnancy when sometimes I'd be soooooooooo tired I'd give a few halfhearted brushes (forget the whole two minutes) and skipped flossing at night. Then a new baby and colic and then running after a toddler! I'm afraid to go and ruin my no cavity streak!

I've never tried an electric toothbrush but would love to!

  56. I love the Oral B toothbrushes. I need a replacement. I love the oscillating and cleansing effect.

  57. The only kind of electric toothbrush I've tried is a cheap $5 kind. It didn't work very well. I'd love to give this one a try. My dentist would approve.

  58. It’s a super slim toothbrush that promises big results: it claims to “reduce 94% of surface stains in just two weeks.”

I've tried every whitener on the market, nothing works. I would really like to try this...

  59. I'd love to win this for my kids! My son has just finished braces and wears a retainer and I still have to check his teeth all the time because they're always yucky! Thanks.

  60. I go to the dentist every six months, brush two or MORE times a day, and floss, not everyday but several times a week. Don't drink soda often, either. I have a bazillion cavities. My husband brushes once a day, flosses never ever since time began, drinks sodas like they are going out of style, and sees the dentist once a year. He has zero cavities. What the heck!?!?

  61. i have seen these i think they would be amazing to try my teeth need a boost i did get when i was younger and had braces but with the kids and two pregnancys and a candy addiction they have got a little hurt

  62. This tooth brush would be awesome to have. My pregnancy was hard on my teeth and now I need to take more care of them

  63. Sonic Care has to be best toothbrush. I have been terrified of the dentist for years and decided to go back. I'd love to upkeep all the work that he did.

  64. I could use a nice toothbrush. Yes, I am another one who sometimes puts off dental hygiene. And lunchtime is the worst. When I am out, where do I brush my teeth? I guess that I can't.
    Thanks.

  65. my husband is a dental hygien freak - he flosses every day and brushes all the time, i on the other hand do great brushing just not the flossing, i am good if i remember once a week so this toothbrush would be excellent for me

  66. I brush my teeth twice a day but I am getting older and am looking to take better care of my smile. I would love to try this out!

  67. I am a nurse and a mother. I have neglected myself for many years. Hating the dentist does not help either. I just recently went to dentist after anout ten year absence. I need dental work, an implant and some crowns. I believe that my smile is nice, but I would love to make it better. This would allow me to feel more confident in myself, thus helping me on the job as well.

  68. Before my mother got an electronic toothbrush, she had all kinds of gum problems and not to mention painful dental appointments. Now after using an electric toothbrush, her appointments are a lot better. She wishes she had gotten one years ago.

  69. This would be great for my daughter. Her dentist recommended one of these types of toothbrushes for her until she gets her braces.

  70. I really like the toothbrush because it is quiet. Often because of shift work my husband "dives" into bed before me and the brush I have at present is so noisy I only use it in the mornings. Use an "old fashioned" toothbrush at night.

  71. I'm very good at my dental hygiene. We had an electric toothbrush for a long time but it died last year. I could really use a new one. I think they are so much more affective than the cheap manual one that I'm currently using. I spent so much money on braces I really try hard to keep them in good shape.

  72. i don;t brush nearly good enough. running after 3 (soon 4) little ones really cuts everything i do short. even brushing.

  73. Oral-B puts out some great products for dental hygiene. I use to have one of their battery operated rechargeable toothbrushes(not the one above) but I do miss it. I could definitely tell a huge difference between that one and my manual toothbrushing..it does not compare at all to what the Oral B toothbrush made my teeth look and feel like(so smooth and squeaky clean).
I would love to win this since I am truly missing out on Oral B at the moment and have to use some arm muscle while brushing.

  74. After years of skipping the dentist, I try to go regularly, to be a good example for the kiddies. They all have their own little battery operated toothbrushes, and if I were lucky enough to win, this one could be mine, a treat to myself for setting a good example!

  75. Wow--it uses over 27,000 bristle vibrations per minute to clean and promote naturally whiter teeth and has a subtle two-minute timer with 30-second intervals. I really need this because it is so much smarter than my toothbrush. LOL

  76. I haven't been to a dentist in years, I'm using a 99 cent manual toothbrush right now, I would love to win this prize.

  77. Although I brush and floss, my teeth just don't look and feel as clean and white since my daughter's dog got hold of my toothbrush with Sonic technology. Nothing works as well as this, but I just can't afford to replace it right now. Help me, I'm yellowing!

  78. Like all else, I brush and floss and the dentist keeps telling me I need a good electric toothbrush.
My stock answer to him is 'tomorrow'.

  79. For me dental hygiene is really important. I brush and floss regularly. I don't miss a day. An electric toothbrush would be great.

  80. My dentist keeps telling me I need to use one of these, but wasn't really sure of the benefits until now. Thanks for the info. and count me in to win!

  81. I need to really keep up and these toothbrushes save my wrists since regular brushing takes a lot more time

  82. I think it's funny that after I get my teeth cleaned, I keep up like crazy for awhile, brushing and flossing like precision. But give me a couple of months and I start to slack off a bit. I'd love to try this! Thank you!

  83. This looks like an awesome toothbrush. Would it make my teeth look like a toothpaste commercial? Thanks.

  84. My husband swears by these "powered" toothbrushes. I just haven't made the leap yet. I'm still clutching to the old standby but I spose I should join the rest of the world and give one of these a try! As far as flossing...I'm all about the floss picks. Handy dandy and convenient!

  85. I think first impressions are very important. One of those first impressions are clean teeth. This is the best toothbrush outthere.

  86. I have a Sonicare, and the difference between an electric toothbrush and a manual one is like night and day. I would love to win this for my husband!

  87. my mother is a dental hygentist and says this electric toothbrush would be great for me since I am a slacker when it comes to brushing

  88. I'm really good at keeping up with oral hygiene. I brush at least twice a day. With flossing I'm not so good.

  89. I have to admit that I'm honestly not that that great with my oral upkeep. I've been wanting to get an electric toothbrush I know that they work so much better than the manual one. And I will freely admit that I'm fully delinquent in flossing.

  90. It's always hard for me to go to the dentist. I never feel confident that I've been doing things "the right way" with flossing and brushing. This would make it so much easier because the brush does so much of the work!

  91. I have bad gums try to take care of them but sometime its hard to brush right and it helps to have a good brush mine is going and about the time for a knew one. nice giveaway thank you!
    [email protected]

  92. I am the worst about going to the dentist, but I went last week and got my teeth cleaned and taken care of. I was so nervous, but it's never as bad as I think it will be! I really could use a nice toothbrush :)

  93. I have sensitive teeth and gums so brushing and flossing is essential. Please accept my entry. Thank you.

  94. I have an old old old sonic toothbrush. Even though I buy new heads a few times a year, getting a brand-new sonic would be great!

  95. I admit I don't brush twice daily or floss. I get yelled at by my dentist and I really need to change my habits!

  96. I wish I was better about flossing every day! I need to be more regular and spend more time brushing too….a challenge!

  97. I have never been as good at oral care as I could have been but nonetheless I have always cared for my teeth. However, recently I have become more concerned about my oral care and I blame it on maturity. I now know how important a beautiful and healthy smile can be! I hope I win this toothbrush!!

  98. I admit I don't love going to the dentist, but now that I have kids...I put on a good face and go "happily". And it works, cuz my kids love love love going to the dentist. Crazy, huh?

  99. I seem to take care of my teeth more when I use an electric toothbrush over a manual one so this one looks wonderful to me and my teeth. Thanks

  100. I am still reeling by all the bad news I got the last time I went to the dentist. This may help improve my situation, or at least prevent it from getting any worse.

  101. I work in dental insurance and it sure would be great if every person out there took better care of their teeth. Neglect and ignorance can be a painful and costly experience. Take care of your teeth or they will be false to you!

  102. we actually registered for electric toothbrushes for our wedding (we didn't get them) =) -- my son LOVES brushing his teeth (he's 3), he hides his toothbrushes all the time so that he can play with them and then we never have any at bedtime =) i think he just loves his dentist - i take him to a peds one that has flat screens attached to all the chairs =)

    autumn398 (at) yahoo.com

  103. I've been looking at electric toothbrushes for a while - my oral hygiene could be tighter, and electric toothbrushes inspire me to brush. I feel like Inspector Gadget or something!

  104. This is the first toothbrush that Ive heard that cost this much. Since this type of toothbrush is a luxury Id like to try and win one. I will say that I do keep my teeth clean and floss on a regular basis.

  105. Everytime I go to the dentist he says "Did you get a Sonicare yet?" So, if I win this, I can tell him I have seomthing even better, lol.

  106. I have to admit that I'm not a regular floss person. I brush 3 times a day and see the dentist 4 times/yr for cleanings..checkups. My quarterly scolding from the dental assistant is in 3 weeks, so maybe this would help.

  107. i would love this tooth brush! both of my girls like the vibrating brushes, and are more apt to brush their teeth if the brush vibes. me too in fact!

  108. these are really great toothbrushes.......and compared to others of the same type, a really good value!

  109. Being able to have the luxury of brushing and flossing everyday would be nice. I used to see a dentist every 6 months, up until I graduated from college. After that it went downhill. Marriage, a 2 year old son, and another on the way, you become more concerned with the ones around you than yourself. I just set up an appointment for my little guys first dentist appointment, and should follow suit to set a good example. Its been probably 6 years since I've seen a dentist. I do brush once or twice on a daily basis, and try to floss once a week. This toothbrush looks really neat and might actually put some fun into taking care of my teeth.

  110. I love electric toothbrushes! They take all the work out of brushing, plus the small heads are great for those hard to reach places!

  111. There is not much better than the feeling of just cleaned teeth. This brush could duplicate that.

  112. my teeth get neglected because I sometimes am so busy I forget to brush and floss after every meal

  113. I was overseas for about four years and when I got back, the first thing I did was see a dentist. The bottom line is not to neglect your teeth! I hadn't seen a dentist in so long and I had neglected flossing as much as I should (even though I was brushing twice a day) and I had to get one of those perio root and scales. Uggh, I hate dental work! Take good care of your teeth, because when I was overseas I realized how blessed we are with good dental care. Many older people couldn't eat hard food because their teeth hurt so badly. Thanks for the giveaway!

  114. I have a sonicare electric toothbrush and the head vibrate right off! would be nice to find a better one!

    nettysgirlATgmail.com

  115. I really need this my teeth are in such
bad shape. This would come in so handy and
would be wonderful to have. Thanks

  116. I am trying to be better about flossing - but still only do it like once a week! I would love this toothbrush I always stare at it at the store!

  117. My mom thinks this is an awesome giveaway! She just informed me that she loved her last sonic toothbrush but it finally just broke. She has been pushing me to try one forever now. Whats funny is that Im the dental assistant but dont use one.

  118. so, i brush a few times a day and try to floss enough, but like you mentioned, sometimes i'd rather just go to sleep : )
as for the dentist, i am hoping to make my visits more regular. well, not hoping, but feeling like i should since i'll be making sure my boys go on a regular basis... you know, setting a good example and all that.
i've never used an electric toothbrush. it would be fun to try one.

  119. I do brush at least twice a day, but flossing is another subject. I'm sad to say that I rarely floss. Thanks for the chance to give the Pulsonic a try!

  120. I've been wanting an electric toothbrush for a while, but it's so difficult choosing which one--especially when they're so expensive! I will have to take a look at this one.

  121. I've been wanting to try this brush! I use the Oral B spin brush and it works great, but I hate how it goes through batteries so quickly.

  122. I have to admit flossing is gross! I hate to floss. I do brush my teeth two times a day and try to go to the dentist every 6 months. My husband takes so long to get ready for bed. He brushes all the time and flosses evey night. I just think he is weird! I do need motivation, so thank you!

  123. This prize would motivate me to brush more often!! I need better motivation! Thanks for the nudge!!
    Great giveaway!

  124. I've always been a three-times-a-day brusher, but I was never the best flosser as a kid. As I've gotten older, however, I realize how important it is not just to benefit your gums and teeth, but to your overall health. I've read recently that dental issues can lead to other health complications, which I'm all set with!!

  125. I just finished taking all 3 kids for their yearly dental exam and am wondering if I'll be up for it again in a year.

  126. I havnt been to a dentist in years. i know i have a cavity but just too scared to go! i deff would love this toothbrush

  127. I notice that I am great at taking care of my teeth for approximately 3 months after I see the dentist. Then it goes downhill from there until my next visit. I have been eyeing my MIL's Pulsonic. Thanks for the review and giveaway!

  128. I'm not very good, nor consistent about taking care of my teeth. One month I may pay particular attention to flossing, another I month I may just gargle with mouthwash. I once had a Sonicare and it sat unused on my bathroom sink for such a long time, that I threw it away during spring cleaning. If I won this giveaway, I would pledge to use the oral B Pulsonic daily, according to instructions, and let you know the results. Thanks for the giveaway.

  129. Caring for your teeth is so important. Unfortunately, I know my kids don't do the best job brushing and flossing. I would love to win this tooth brush for my oldest to help encourage better oral hygiene.

  130. I've always wanted to try one of these, but never wanted to spend the money. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  131. going through all kinds of dental problems and not from lack of upkeep (brush floss regularly) and my dentist wants me to get an oral b but can't afford

  132. I don't keep up with my dental care enough. I don't floss regularly and don't go for checkups every 6 months. I really need to do better.

  133. Time to care for yourself becomes a challenge with children. I would love to try this nifty gadget. Maybe my toddler would be so amazed that she would be deterred from unrolling the entire roll of toilet paper while I brush my teeth.

  134. Would love to win. I always have cavities and if this would help, it would save a lot of money. Thanks.

  135. I also struggle with consistently following a good oral care routine. I'm especially bad about wearing my retainer! I consider it a success if I wear it every other night.

I do see the dentist regularly though. I really hate sitting in the dentist chair and finally figured out that visiting every 6 months is the best way to keep the visits short and pain-free.

I'd love to try this toothbrush! I had a Sonicare that I loved and used for years. It died a while back and I haven't replaced it yet. Thanks for the contest!

  136. If I win this my dentist will be happy to see how much better my teeth look every time he sees them. Thanks for the contest.

  137. I brush twice a day, floss once at night, or maybe more if I've eaten popcorn! I go to the dentist every six months, but could really use a product to make all of that a little easier!

  138. I'm actually one of those who brushes 2x a day and flosses once a day and goes to the dentist every 6 months (if we have insurance) and I have the worst teeth in my family. Sigh. But I just recently started bringing my kids to the dentist to make sure they have the best start. We'll see what happens. :)

  139. The dentist scares me! I had not gone for 4 years and when I finally did I had 4 cavities! Ugh! I am trying to be a good mama and my kiddos go every 6 months but I despise that place.

  140. I floss every night with Reach floss. I have a manual toothbrush and would really like this toothbrush. They're supposed to work better than manuals.

  141. I really need this I am supposed to be using one daily. My teeth are really close together and even after braces they are still difficult to keep clean.

  142. I wish I had the chance to brush and floss as I should. I always fall asleep before I get a chance at night. Thanks for the giveaway.

  143. I floss with one of those little mint green plastic flosser thingys -- I leave the package next to my end of the couch in a basket and floss while watching tv -- it's better than nothing!

  144. I would love to have this toothbrush! I don't really have very good dexterity for controlling a manual brush, and these are so expensive I could never hope to buy one... Sure hope I get this one ;-)

  145. My dentist has told me how great these are. I'd love to win one. I brush 3 times a day- maybe this would make my teeth healthier :)

  146. I usually just buy whatever toothbrush I find for $1 at Big Lots. This would be pure luxury for my teeth!

  147. I love brushing my teeth. I'll usually brush 3 times a day, often after I eat. I love the feeling of clean teeth. I have not, however, been to the dentist in too long. I should get back into that habit. :)

  148. this would be PURRFECT for my hubby - who is in DESPERATE need of a new toothbrush - the one he has needs replacing - like stat.

  149. Oh my I could really use this. I had great teeth until I had kids. The dentist told me when I was pregnant the baby was sucking the calcium out of my teeth. I went from having no cavities to 12!!! Yikes!! I was so upset. He suggested that I get one of these toothbrushes but I just can't afford one right now. I would be truely grateful!!

  150. I've been considering purchasing an electric toothbrush but I don't know which one to try. I don't want to spend too much money but I don't know if the cheap ones are any better than a regular toothbrush. I would love to get a free one to try out.

  151. I brush my teeth and floss like I'm supposed to, but that sure hasn't rubbed off on my kids. No amount of nagging - yes, I do nag - gets them to take responsibility and brush every day like they should. You'd think they would do it just so I'd quit nagging!

  152. Would love to have this--my electric toothbrush died a natural death some time ago and I haven't been able to replace it as yet. Have found that a waterpik does better than flossing for me, although I still try to floss at least occasionally.

  153. If I get to brush my teeth before I head out in the morning I am lucky, I know TOTALLY gross but what can I do?

  154. I go every 6 months, But I only brush once a day and only floss about twice a week!! Not the best habit, but It's there and the intentions are good!!!

  155. I do floss every day, but I have been wanting to get an electric toothbrush. Please enter me in your giveaway.

  156. I HAVE HEARD THAT THESE ARE THE BEST BRUSHES...AS I AM NOT THE BEST AT TAKING CARE OF MY TEETH ...THIS WOULD BE A PLUS IN MY BATHROOM

  157. I am so horrible at flossing. I have always had bad teeth. My dentist told my mom when I was little that I would be lucky to have my teeth by the time I was 16. He said I had soft teeth. Well I am now 53 and happy to say, I still have them.

  158. I have a similiar toothbrush and I think it's great! It took a while to get used to it,though, but now I don't want to go back to regular toothbrushes. I'd love to win one for my husband.

  159. Went for 6 month check up and gums were bleeding pretty good. Dentist said would be beneficial if I got an electric toothbrush. Haven't bought it yet and this would be perfect.

  160. I take very good care of my teeth. My original Sonicare just died and I've been missing it. Thanks for the chance.

  161. my regimen is brush twice a day and floss every other day.
and always rinse with some kind of mouthwash. thanks!

  162. My daughter could use this. She has braces, and it's tough to get in all the spots with a manual toothbrush.

  163. I finally got my teeth cleaned after 3 years, no cavities, but they told my I was brushing my teeth too hard and recommended one of these brushes. Would love to win it.

  164. The kids have had sonicares ever since they were the only game in town...now they are on their last legs... would love to try some new technology.

  165. We've been using battery-powered brushes for several years now, and my husband has been asking me to get a "real" electric toothbrush. Thanks for the sensible giveaway!

  166. The electir tooth brushes do a great job. Use to have a nice one but it broke in the move so I now have a cheapy.

  167. My dentist is my son, so yes, he gets on me! I do TRY to be good, but you know what they say the road to hell is paved with: good intentions!

  168. I do all three. I inherited not great teeth from my parents, and we didn't have fluoride in the water when I was growing up -- so I figure I need all the help I can get to keep my teeth healthy!

  169. I just checked out the Oral B Pulsonic website and I love the features this provides especially the timer with 30 second intervals to help you brush your teeth the proper amount of time. I would love to try out this product!

  170. I get a cleaning twice a year and brush and floss daily. I dont want to be a "gummer!!" I could really use this toothbrush to help maintain my healthy habits!

  171. I would like to try this electric toothbrush. I have my teeth cleaned every 6 months. It has been five years since I have needed any other dental work, but because an old filling is defective I have an appointment next week to have it replaced.

  172. i'm a flossing addict and I just got braces (yes, in my 30's). This brush would be great to help give me the clean feeling now that flossing has become much, MUCH harder!

  173. I was blessed with great teeth. I certainly do not take care of them as good as I should. I use to have a electric toothbrush and I liked it a lot but it kicked the bucket a year ago and I just haven't replaced it. The first few times I used it the vibration made me drool. I had to lean over the sink.

  174. My twin sister and I have the straightest, whitest teeth you'll ever see and we're constantly being complimented on them.... but its pretty ironic, if we were to show these people how many fillings we had in our mouth! I'd love to try this tooth brush in hopes of no more cavities!!

  175. What a great giveaway! A timer would be a great motivator--I'm horrible about getting distracted and 'estimating' 2 min. I really like the fact that this is rechargable.

  176. This is depressing. I don't floss everyday and need to start. I would love using an electric toothbrush. Seems to do a better job.

  177. I am not to keen on brushing twice a day or flossing all the time. I do see the dentist every 6 months. But I do get in trouble with the hygenist for not doing everything right. So this would be the perfect toothbrush to have.

  178. I don't have dental insurance, but I have bad teeth and make myself go every four months for a cleaning. I floss everyday. My teeth are still horrible!

  179. When I was on coumadin (for a health issue) it made my teeth soft. I had to have a crown put on and that was not fun. I have always been vigilant regarding oral hygiene but this would make my teeth extra protected.

  180. Almost hate to admit it, but I do brush 2x a day, floss once, and see the dentist twice a year (more or less). Still could use this toothbrush!

  181. I have not been to the dentist in years...lack of funds...so I try very hard to make sure to brush my teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. This product would really help me stay away from "the chair."

  182. I'm a dental delinquent, I promise to try harder if I get this new system :). Hope I win. Thanks for the great contest

  183. Wow, what a great toothbrush. I certainly don't brush/floss/see the dentist on time so having one of these would certainly help! Thanks.

    kport207 at gmail dot com

  184. I have future plans of being a dentist. I think it's important to have great oral hygiene n order to promote it!

  185. this is great! my teenager seems to have a habit of "misplacing" his individual toothbrush. this would be what he really needs.

  186. I didn't have insurance for a while and when i finally got a new job and went to the dentist I now have 3 cavaties :(

  187. I am trying to instill better oral hygiene in my kids than I have (and my parents tried to have me have better oral hygiene than they did). Maybe eventually we will get it right. This toothbrush would definitely be a good start.

  188. I would love to win this toothbrush! I've been to the dentist 4 times in the past month and have to go back Monday to see an endotontist.. always having issues so any help would be amazing! thanks

  189. I hate flossing but I'm a freak about brushing my teeth. I use mouth wash a lot too. I love my mouth feeling clean, and fresh. It seriously makes me feel awake.

  190. I really try to keep a good routine with my teeth. I do try to floss often, at least every couple of days and I brush 2-3 times per day. I'd really love to get Oral-B Pulsonic Toothbrush. This brush sounds wonderful!
Thanks so much for this great giveaway.

  191. I agree with the comments above, Reach flossers are terrific. Although nothing beats mint floss, I love that stuff!

  192. i used to have one of these but it broke a while ago. Its hard to live without one of these!! :) They really do work great.

  193. I hate brushing my teeth (and don't get me started about flossing!), but a slim electric brush somehow makes the chore go faster, and with Oral-B's scientific know-how behind it, I know I'm actually getting results.

  194. I'm surprisingly good about my oral hygiene. I guess because I have had so many problems with cavities (I even had to have a root canal) it has made me realize that the only way to avoid that stuff is to be pretty crazy about it. I brush three times a day and floss every day. And now that I FINALLY have dental insurance again, I am going every 6 months.

But a nice toothbrush would be AWESOME. I've been wanting one for a while!

  195. wow that "just went to the dentist feel" is hard to achieve. i find if i spend approx. 20 mins on my teeth, then i get sort of close to that feel. but that's usually after brushing my teeth 3 times between flossings, swishing mouthwash and some gum cloth rubbing. i've never had a electric toothbrush.

  196. I'm with Nell. It's so hard!!! Especially because Clark is obsessed with brushing his teeth and steals my toothbrush every chance he can. (Of course he has like ten of his own but you know, he needs MINE.) If I had this one it would be OFF LIMITS. :)

  197. Oh no... I'm horrible. Especially with 3 kids now. I'm lucky to brush by the time I eat lunch. Gross, I know.

    Nell

  198. I do my best to take care of my teeth. I brush daily (sometimes two times in a day). Hopefully, I brush my teeth well enough to prevent future problems.

  199. I get to go have 4 old silver fillings replaced next week because they are starting to leak into my teeth. Then I have to schedule the time and money to have more dental work done on the rest of my mouth to fix old cavities. I am now a firm believer in proper oral hygene if only to prevent any more money from getting to my dentist! Please, please pick me oh random generator!

  200. The title hits it on the nose ~ I am delinquent too. I say that I don't have time but I really should make the time to keep myself healthy. Thank you for motivating me too...

  201. I can't tell you the last time I was at the dentist, I know I have to make myself go after this baby gets here because I have a couple of cavities... I try to do the brush and floss twice a day routine, but it doesn't always happen for me either. Fortunately Sugar loves to brush her teeth and asks if we can brush our teeth everytime we go into the bathroom so I'm doing a little better!

  202. I'm a bit neurotic about oral heath. I try to do all three at least twice a day and even brush my babies teeth twice a day and bring them to the dentist when they turn a year. My husband on the other hand.... lets just say he can really use an electric toothbrush.

  203. I had to laugh at "everything takes just two minutes!" I totally agree.
My dental delinquincy: Never having my wisdom teeth removed. Guess what I get to have done later this year!?!

  204. I'm guilty of not flossing every day too. IN fact, I'm guilty of a lack of brushing lately too -- The ONE thing that makes me nauseous while pregnant is -- you guessed it, brushing my teeth. Some mornings, I can't force myself to complete the task.

  205. I wish I was better about flossing every day! I need to be more regular and spend more time brushing too....a challenge! but i should set a good example for my toddler...

  206. Very little flossing for me too :( This Oral-B toothbrush looks pretty neat though! I've never used an electric toothbrush before, but can see why they are popular!

  207. My mom has been on my case for a very long time to get to the dentist. I don't know why I've turned into such a dentist slacker, all my life I've been really good about it, every 6 months on the dot. Motherhood has taken it's toll and my poor teeth are dirty. Maybe my mom could at least be happy that I have a good tooth brush!

  208. I must admit- I am somewhat of a dental delinquent :( Especially since having my son.... This would help me get back on track to my pre-kids brushing habits!! Thanks for another great chance at a really cool product!!

  209. Pregnancy has been so hard on my teeth! I'm dreading my dentist visit next week because I feel like I couldn't brush well that entire 9 months due to the terrible gag reflex I have while pregnant. Yuck. Sometimes, I'm so ready to sleep as soon as the kids are down that flossing seems like one more impossible task.

  210. I'll admit that I'm terrified of the dentist. I've had my eye on a fancy toothbrush to match my husband's, but I don't want it to be my birthday present, as he keeps offering :)

  211. My hygienist told me last week that I have a few places that are "almost cavities." I would love to have this to up my defenses -- evidently regular flossing, flouride, and brushing aren't cutting it!
    Thanks,
    Megret
    musesofmegret (at) gmail (dot) com

  212. I'd love to win this. I used to be one of those people that brushed my teeth three times a day (ok I don't floss that often because my teeth are really close together and its hard) and went to the dentist every six months. Since having my baby 5 months ago I've had to cancel 3 dentist apts. I don't know when I'm going to make it in.

  213. Totally embarrassed to say that I haven't seen a dentist in years. I don't have insurance so right now can't get there but terribly need to as I have a tooth that is messed up and every so often I have awful pains. Gotta figure something out that is for sure.

  214. I agree, all things dental have fallen off my radar except brushing. I consistenly brush twice a day. But flossing and dental check-ups? Not so much. Would love a toothbrush like this that might help remove some of the guilt.

Has your daughter gone in for her first dental visit yet? I think my son is just a few months younger than her and I know I need to get on top of that. Probably need to schedule a check-up for myself at the same time.

  215. I am lucky enough to have dental insurance and I do visit the dentist every 6 months or so. I have been told for years that I brush too hard and that I am wearing my gums away. I tried soft tooth brushes, but my teeth never "feel" as clean. I would love to try the pulsonic because it would solve my problem, but it is not affordable for me right now. Thanks for offering!

  216. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who is less than perfect when it comes to my dental care. I sometimes wonder if I am. I've been making a real effort to brush twice and floss once a day, and I'm at the point where I do get it done about 90 percent of the time, but I still have to consciously make myself do it. I'd love to try the Pulsonic!

  217. If you're like me, and were not so consistent for a while, you may have baby cavities growing on your teeth! You can actually prevent new cavities and stop or even reverse the growth of baby cavities by using PreviDent mouthwash. Find it at Wal-Mart.

  218. oooooh, that looks so fancy. We are trying to be frugal, so I feel bad spending so much on something like a toothbrush, but oh would that be nice. My teeth are in need of an extra good cleaning!

  219. I'm totally laughing because I am sooooo particular with my teeth! I do all of those things and then some! : ) Please don't enter me but I had to laugh and comment! : )

  220. I have terrible tooth genes. Both sides of my family have either dentures, no teeth, or just funky teeth. Mine look decent, but this face is filled with metal and money. My head is worth a lot. :) I take pretty good care of my teeth, but I can always use more excellent equipment to keep them from fallin' out of my head. Thanks!

  221. I am also so bad at going to the dentist! We do not have insurance and it just kills me how much it cost. A good tooth brush would help us keep those cavities away and the bills down!

  222. Even with dental insurance through work, I don't always make my 2x yearly visits for routine cleanings. And now that our dentist is retiring, and they are in short supply here in my town-it will be more difficult to get established with another dentist right off since many are not taking new patients. So I am trying to plan ahead for what may be an extended period of being without a dentist-and I will have to check all sorts of different products that assist with oral care. Your review was helpful-I will have to check it out!

  223. When I was pregnant I had such sensitive gums that would bleed so easily. Now I am playing catch-up" with my dental care since the plaque built up when I had to brush really carefully and couldn't floss. I could really use this!

  224. We spent a bunch of money on a Sonicare toothbrush and the first time he used it my husband decided he HATED it. So I returned it to the store (thanks to Costco's fantastic return policy). I'd love to win this one so I could justify the "cost" for only one person using it.

  225. I have always wanted one of these types, but couldnt get past the expense of them. I really could use this as I have no dental insurance and do not go to the dentist like I should.

  226. wow- if this would get my kids to be more interested in brushing- I would deifinitely give it a try!

  227. I have bad teeth. I go to the dentist every six months and brush my teeth every day (I don't floss very often though...) but they are still bad. The dentist told me to get an electric toothbrush, so this would be great, thanks!

  228. I brush at least 2 times daily but don't floss like I should. I do go to the dentist 2 times a year, but it looks like we are losing our dental insurance (bummer). This would be awesome.

  229. As a mom of six, I am always looking for a more efficient way to practice excellent hygiene :) I have a cheapie ($6) battery operated toothbrush, which I love compared to the standard kind. I think it would be great to try a higher-quality version. Thanks for the opportunity!

  230. I love the way my teeth feel after they are brushed/cleaned. My husband thinks that toothbrushes are just the dental world to get us to pay more in dental care. I really don't believe that one at all! I usually brush and floss once a day, I should more, but I don't. Please enter me into this drawing!
    Thanks! ~Megan ♥

  231. I have to admit that I'm not good at flossing regularly. Partly because it makes me gag (I have a strong gag reflex) and partly because I'm too lazy. I had a battery-operated toothbrush once and was quite fond of it. The smaller head didn't usually trigger the gag reflex which was lovely. I would love to try this out - my hubby and I keep talking about buying one but we haven't yet...

  232. For a long time, I made sure to floss every night, but lately I have been so tired that even flossing was something I didn't want to do! This toothbrush sounds fabulous. My husband could benefit more then me! Please enter my name in your drawing.
    Many thanks, Cindi

  233. I too am a dental delinquent >.<
But I can't say it's completely my fault because since I can't make it to the bathroom most days, I can't do anything.
I swear I feel so gross. Being bedbound bites =[
This would be so cool to win because it might be easier then the conventional toothbrush.
    Hopefully. Lol
    Thanks for the chance!

  234. OK, my dentist keeps telling me I should use an electric toothbrush, but the costs seem so high. I would love to win this brush!

  235. I have yet to try anything other than a manual toothbrush. I'd love to, but I'm always afraid the cost isn't worth it. My dentist might have an opinion about that, ya think?

  236. My Mom swears by hers. I keep telling her it's what I want for my Birthday in July, but she keeps telling me NO....

I have fears of the dentist and you would think I would take better care...

  237. Ok, Ok..I raised both HANDS and FEET! I am a TOTAL NEUROTIC tooth NUT!!! I brush after I eat anything and floss at LEAST twice a day!! I would LOVE to win the Oral-B Pulsonic!!! I have a VERY expensive "Sonic" type tooth brush that I LOVE but it is getting old and needs to be replaced!

My mom had a saying.. be true to your teeth or they'll be false to you...
And Dr. Clayton my Dentist says..Only Floss the one ya wanna Keep..
Yeah, I am the Biggest Tooth nut you will EVER meet!

Thanks so much for the chance to win!
    This is HUGE to me!!
    Leslie

  238. Oh my. My oral hygiene went down hill when we lost our dental insurance. I brush, but only once a day. I was surprised when I finally got to get my teeth cleaned, and the hygienist said for not having been in six years my teeth were not bad at all. I was soooo relieved! My husband has an motorized tooth brush and he loves it. We purchased battery operated ones for the kids, but as a mom, I have never purchased one for myself! This would be so wonderful!

  239. We use the Reach flossers - not as good as floss, but much quicker and easier. I find that I will use that every night and then floss with 'real' floss every other day or so. I also bought one for each of my boys and it's much easier for them to use than those little neon animal flossers.

  240. I love brushing, love flossing and I'm sure I would love to use the Oral B Pulsonic. My hand is definitely raised for this one!

  241. I too am not the best at flossing and brushing twice per day. I do get my once per day in and and occasional flossing. I had a big scare about 3 months ago when I had a toothache. So I made an appointment with a Dentist to find out that it was just a sensitive spot but I also found out that I had eight small cavitites. Now, these eight includes my first cavity ever. At almost 40 that is pretty darn good, I think, especially for not having been to the dentist except for twice in the last 10 years or so. I have one more cavity to get filled next week and then a cleaning the week after so I would love to win one of these to keep my teeth clean and fresh after my cleaning. What a perfect prize.

  242. I think it's been about 4 years since I have been to the dentist... shhhhh... but I am also planning on making an appointment for my husband and myself. Besides, gotta start setting a good example now that there is a little one. Top of the line toothbrushes for me are just the 12 pack or whatever from Costco. This looks great!

  243. While I am also not perfect at oral upkeep, I do try to take pretty good care of my mouth. I have never had a cavity and would prefer to keep it that way. I would love to give this toothbrush a try to see how it works. Plus..I just saw my dentist last week, so it's a perfect time to start anew!
