Day #4 EatSmart Precision Digital Body Fat Scale

I've learned a lot from my husband about body image.

When we first started dating fifteen years ago, I was 16-years-old - a dancer, straight A student, newspaper editor, volunteer, dreaming of college and studying abroad. In spite of all this, I fretted over my weight and the foods on my plate.

Fast forward to today. Eleven years of marriage and three babies later, I feel better about my body than ever before. Not only do I appreciate the miracles it is capable of (growing a human - one of the greatest and sweetest mysteries in our world), I also have much healthier habits.

Tim taught me to:

  • eat healthfully; eat well
  • move constantly
  • exercise regularly
  • not worry about the size on the tag
  • stop complaining that I'm "not a runner" - and run anyway
  • use the number on the scale as a tool

Most importantly, he reminds me of who I am.

As I run and work toward becoming a fit, strong, and healthy person, I like having the EatSmart Precision Digital Body Fat Scale available to help me keep loose tabs on my goals.

Super trim, lightweight, and easy to set up, this scale measures body weight, %body fat, %body water, %muscle mass, and %bone mass – for up to 8 users! Just step on the black surface and get an instant digital read-out.

  1. I love to run but with the addition of three little ones in the last year time to exercise has been something quite non-existant. I haven't been on a scale for a long time and don't even think mine works! I would love to have this to keep me on track while I get back into running.

  2. I've been on several diets and read several books and diet programs! None of them seem to work for me. Just eating healthy, lessening my carbs, and being more active is the trick!

  3. I've actually been using the Shake Weight lately and I believe it's working! You only have to do six minutes a day. :)

  4. I used to worry about my weight and being a certain size. But, now in my early 40's, I just want to have strength/endurance, and be able to keep up with my 7 and 4 year old. I pay attention more to what I put in my mouth. I love the magazine Clean Eating! I also have the IPHONE APP - Run Keeper that helps me stay with a walking goal :)

  5. I had an exercise ball (but it got popped) I loved it if I was on the computer I was using it if I was watching TV I was using it I used it a lot for just because. I would love to get another one but I don't see them around. Thank you for the giveaway. Happy Holidays!

  6. My husband has asked for this gift for Christmas for 3 years, and I am about to stop nursing and get SERIOUS about losing this babyweight. I love to swim but haven't made time with a 10 month old.

  7. I really love workout Dvds because they are convenient. I have a large variety to keep myself from getting bored, but some favorites are one with Kendra Wilkinson and the Jillian Michaels kettlebell workout

  8. I love walking, I walk everywhere. My blender is my bestfriend, I love shakes and smoothies! Thank you for this giveaway!

  9. Probably T-Tapp--it deals with alignment and big-picture wellness. And this one isn't entirely about exercise, but it's definitely related: katysays.com is fantastic. :)

  10. I've been following FitSugar for a while. I like it for the positivity, primarily, but I also enjoy the yoga sequences that come every so often.

  11. I'm also blessed to have a husband who loves me the way I am, but cares enough to encourage me in my efforts to get and stay healthy.

  12. I like myfitnesspal.com
I like the support from the other members and it's really encouraging seeing before & after photos.

  13. I love using my running apps on my phone! It helps me to track how far I've run, how fast, and keep track of my routes. I used Nike + and Mapmyrun

  14. In our 9+ years of marriage, I've never owned a scale! But, we're nearing the end of our baby days and getting older, it may be helpful to have a scale around (plus I'm sure the kids would love to have one around!).

    1. Whoops, I didn't see the prompt for the comment until now. Fitness is not a top priority for me right now :(, but I'd have to say that normally my Valco Trimode Twin stroller is my walking companion/fitness product!

  15. I have a pair of jeans that I judge my size by- with two daughters I dont want to focus on weight. You losing weight is my fav book

  16. Favorite health product is definitely my Blendtec blender! I use it daily... usually more than once! Favorite fitness too is the MyFitnessPal app on my iPhone... great way to keep track of your calories in, calories out, water intake, goals & progress! :o)

  17. I actually don't really follow fitness blogs or books, but I LOVE (I mean LOVE) Turbo Fire. This is the first workout system that I could ever say I look forward to working out on. 6 days a week and I don't mind it one bit. I actually crave working out now that I am 5 weeks into it!

  18. When I began running I used the NHS Choices Couch-to-5K podcasts to get me going. Now I prefer running to music most of the time, but I still fall back to those podcasts occasionally if I feel like I need someone in my ear, telling me "keep going, you can do it!" One great feature: they're free on iTunes.

  19. I'm a big fan of the Everyday Paleo book... great recipes and also love the exercise section in the back. We are a very active family and have loved using this book as a resource. Also, aside from the scantily clad photos and sometimes offensive titles, I really love the workouts that I've found on BodyRock.tv.

  20. I like exercise dvds for when the weather outside is crummy - Pilates are a nice and then there's always Jillian Michaels when I need something more intense.

  21. I am also grateful for a husband who chooses to focus on complimenting my strengths instead of pointing out my weaknesses...because I'm certainly well aware of those already! I like that this scale is more than just weight, because unless I'm pregnant, my weight never changes much. But I can certainly tell that there have been months and years that I've been more fit and taken better care of my body than other times. It would be nice to actually be able to measure some of that.

  22. Weight Watchers worked well for me. I lost 30 lbs after my first baby and it really taught me portion control that is at the forefront even when I'm not "on" the program.

  23. Your running inspires me. I had just started getting back into it last summer when I found out I was pregnant with our fourth. I kept running until running made me feel really, really sick. But if there's an upside to having back-to-back pregnancies it's that my urge to be able to move freely has never been higher. I am so motivated to get going again as soon as this baby is born I am recovered from birth. And like you, my husband is a huge motivator. Always pushing me to my best even when I say I'm too tired or don't have enough time.

    1. I have to admit. I'm a *little* jealous that you already have four...since we were pregnant the same time with our third. ;)

So happy for you though. Little Bobby is a dream. The perfect Christmas gift.
