Day #5 Flameware 14" Pizza Stone by Longaberger

Tonight we made pizza for dinner on our Flameware Pizza Stone by Longaberger!

Tim tossed the made-from-scratch dough in the air (he's a pro!), stretched it out, and meticulously added marinara sauce, plenty of mozzarella cheese, and crumbles of bacon.

Day #5 Flameware 14" Pizza Stone by Longaberger 1

Made with non-reactive ceramics, Flameware is billed as "the healthier way to cook." It's handcrafted from 100% natural materials and is completely free from PFOAs, aluminum, lead, and other heavy metals that can leach into food.

The stone can be used in the freezer, fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, directly on a gas or electric stovetop, under the broiler, and even on the grill (as we did tonight)!

Because there are no metals in its construction, the stone will never rust.

Choose from 7 different pottery colors to complement your kitchen decor.

  1. we use to have a pizza place years back called mr z's they had the most awesome pizza with the works. you could barely lift the slice off the plate it had so many toppings :)

  2. There are two pizza parlors I really like but they ar no longer around. They were Mimo's in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania and Rizzo's in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Times marches on but its a pity it had to take these primo pizza parlors.

But folks, don't worry. Some of the second place restaurants are not so bad. Yeah!

  3. Black Sheep Pizza, Minneapolis AND St. Paul. Smoked mozzarella pizza and a house salad...we might even have it tonight!

  4. the best pizza I have ever had is from a mom and pop restaurant Vingers in my home town. People either love it or hate it no one is ever in between. lol

  5. The best pizza I ever has was from a restaurant called Patelli's Pizza. They're out of business now, I would love to win the

  6. I love using homegrown veggies to make my own pizza sauce!! Its delicious!! Always better when its homemade and even better when its homegrown!

  7. Best pizza place? Godfather's, Pizza Street, & a place where I used to live (Springdale, Arkansas) called King's Pizza .. sure miss that joint!!
Thanks, I'd love to have a pizza stone :)

  8. I love wood fired oven pizza... My favorite Place to get Woodfired Pizza was called the Oven in Tucson. Unfortunately it is long gone. So disappointed when it closed. Does anyone know of a good woodfired oven pizza place

  9. I've never made good pizza myself, so I'll spare you the recipes that don't work. Maybe it's me, but does anyone have a good, foolproof dough recipe? The worst was my attempt at gluten free pizza made out of cauliflower.

  10. The best pizza place I have ever been to was the national chain called Pizza Inn. I am not sure how widespread they are, but they are delicious.

  11. Oh...so in case it wasn't clear in my last comment, since we make our own pizza (dough is from a Bon Apetit recipe!) that is generally our favorite! :) but if we go out to eat, we like Luna's and Frank Pepe's :)

  12. I need this for my hubby! Our bigger stone broke for some reason a big ago and we have been researching pizza stones ever since!

  13. I have the regular Longaberger pizza stone, and I love it! I made homemade pizza all the time...so much better then store bought! But, if we are in a hurry, there is a local place near us called Pizza Town, and they have a New York style pizza that's pretty good. The crust is a bit tough to chew, but the overall taste is good!

  14. We make our own pizza. A good friend recently brought amazing pizza over in her cast iron pan. The dough was beyond heavenly. I am trying to be gluten free, so I need to experiment with some new recipes...

  15. We don't have any really good pizza places where I live however when I traveled to New York City, many, many years ago, the pizza there was out of this world!

  16. We make pizza from scratch all the time! My kiddos love making their own pizzas. We usually keep it pretty simple - sauce, corn, bell pepper, marinated artichoke hearts and mozzarella. I've never used a pizza stone before...I hear they work great! I can just picture your little family making pizza together!!

  17. I don't have a link to this, but I really like a biscuit pizza crust. Just make a biscuit recipe (not a really fluffy one) and press it into your pizza pan or sheet pan, bake it until just brown and cooked through (you can wrap and freeze at this point). Then add toppings and bake until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.

And my favorite pizza place was called Yakki Joes. They had really good pizza, and the best calzones ever. Unfortunately the place burned down when I was 12 or so, and they never did restart the business.

  18. I really like longaberger, I have a basket from them. I gave been thinkjng lately of getting rid of all my aluminum pans and cupcake pans too. Infact I gave been trying to only use the stoneware that I currently have now. But this pizza stone looks awesome.

  19. Now that we eat gluten free, I'm trying to find a good gluten free pizza dough recipe (please pass on links if anyone has one). But, I love local pizza place (before we ate gluten free) called Jimmy's Pizza!

  20. Wow! I didn't know Longaberger made stoneware! Very Cool!

I change all of the time in what pizza places are my favorite. We used to make pizzas growing up on pita bread...that was yummy. There is a local chain called Ledo's that makes rectangular pizzas and it really yummy too but probably by VERY favorite local place is called Lombardi's.

  21. I have a pizza stone on my Christmas list! I use the America's Test Kitchen recipe and i really like it, but I think it would be better cooked on a stone. Fingers crossed!

  22. We eat our pizza at home made from scratch 90% of the time, so I don't even need the recipe for the dough anymore. However, my favorite pizza out was in a little town we used to live in... it was called Big Al's. It was very yummy!

  23. I love brick oven pizzas!!! One of the best pizza I've had was at the City Walk outside of Universal Studios in CA - it was 11 years ago but I still remember it.

  24. We usually make our pizza on aluminum baking sheets lined with parchment paper, but I've been wanting a stone for a long time.

  25. Cinecitta in San Francisco is one of the best! I cant remember the name of the pizza, but it has a thin dough and topped with mascarpone, another cheese and cubed potatoes and rosemary. I could eat the whole thing alone!!!
