What I've Been Wearing: End-of-Summer Style

Well-known Blogger Tsh Oxenreider recently summed up my fashion philosophy - "...dress simply, dress repeatedly, and dress in what you like best." I prefer a few quality pieces to a closet full of trends that may or may not match up with my lifestyle, schedule, or body type.

Here's what I've been wearing (over and over again) as the end-of-summer nears and the warm weather promises to linger into the early fall.

Jeans by US Polo Assn.

Streetcar Style

Tucson recently debuted an all-electric, USA-made, absolutely beautiful streetcar. The 3.9-mile route makes stops at the university, 4th avenue, downtown, and the mercado. I attended a press conference at the end of July and hopped aboard for a media + VIP ride a few days prior to the official launch. The 100-degree temps called for some creativity. I went with these kate skinny jeans by U.S. Polo Assn. (available at Sears; $19.99 for the win), mini prima kara heels by Pairendipity, and a lace breathable top by Bobeau.

Vionic Sandals

Vionic Orthaheel flip flops

If you live in Arizona, flip-flops are pretty much the official shoe of summer. We desert dwellers wear them with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses - even to weddings and business functions if the pair has a bit of sparkle or a wedge. For the past few months, I've been sporting my Vionic marisa toe post sandals (with orthaheel technology!) everywhere. They're lightweight, supportive, AND stylish. A triple threat! Vionic shoes are recommended by the American Podiatric Medical Association and Dr. Andrew Weil. They're specifically designed to relieve heel, knee, and back pain.

Cabana Life Rashguard + Swim Skirt

Cabana Life Rashguards for Women

If you haven't seen the swim collection at Cabana Life, jog your fingers over the keys to their website and pick up some pieces in their summer sale. I love that they have an array of rashguard options for men + women - in addition to the super sweet pieces for kids. You can also find chic cover-ups, hats, and bags to get you set for beach fun. This is the kind of swimsuit I can feel good about b/c it offers great sun protection, while still being modest. In the photo above, I'm wearing the navy/gold embroidered rash guard, stripe swim skirt, and classic canvas hat.

Teva Original Sandals

Teva Orginal Sandals Orange Purple

For summertime adventures, Teva is one of our family's go-to brands. My three young daughters love the comfort + support of their sandals...and I understand their enthusiasm. I currently have two pairs of Teva sandals and they're well-worn from extensive use. Pictured: the Original Sandal in Orange/Purple.

  1. J Crew's 5 inch, broken-in, chino shorts. So comfortable, versatile, & the perfect length for me! (They also come in 3 & 7 inch inseams, & many colors & patterns).
