Fit Mama Friday: Fabulous Athletic Bra

Fit Mama Friday: Fabulous Athletic Bra 1I'm a - let's just say "well-endowed" - woman and it can be a challenge finding a sports bra that is supportive, comfortable, and that minimizes bounce. I can't just head down to Target and pick out a $20 bra and call it a day (can anyone relate?).

Thus, when I was recently given the opportunity to try out the Fabulous Athletic Bra®, I jumped at the chance. The Fabulous Athletic Bra® was designed by a husband and wife team - Martin and Barbara Marx. Martin's background is in mechanical engineering (he worked for 30 years in the field) and he also has an MBA. Barbara has a masters degree in Organizational Management and owFit Mama Friday: Fabulous Athletic Bra 2ned her own bridal shop prior to inventing FAB®.

Fabulous Athletic Bras® are "engineered and designed to be the most supportive, comfortable and stylish sports bras on the market. These perfectly designed sports bras fit women from size 30B to 40DDD and they are engineered to support and control bounce during moderate to high impact activities such as soccer, running, basketball, horse riding, tennis, softball and golf. Fabulous Athletic Bras are sports bras that have been designed for comfort and engineered to Keep the Bounce in Check®."

When I talked to Barbara by phone, she was enthused about the benefits of the Fabulous Athletic Bra® and she willingly shared her mission to help women work out in comfort - supported by a good bra. I was impressed by her confidence and her passion for the product.

When the bra arrived, I tried it on and was immediately impressed by its "snug comfort." When I ran in it, I felt supported and even had my husband do a quick "bounce test" where I jumped up and down in this bra and in my other favorite bra. The FAB® minimized bounce just as well as the other one - and actually it was a bit comfier because it didn't have the front hook opening.

Now when I head out for a run, I reach for my Fabulous Athletic Bra® first. It lives up to its promises and - what can I say? - it really is fabulous.

You can purchase a Fabulous Athletic Bra® of your own on the FAB website.

  1. This mama needs all the support her babies can get. There are only so many times I can smoosh these puppies into too-small bras just so I can go for a jog without damaging my optical orbs. When I do that, it feels like I have a stack of 12 telephone books sitting on my chest. 36DDD or 36F, if you only have one D to work with...

  2. I'm training to run a marathon with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training so it is definitely the right time for me to win something like this!

  3. Boy, could I use this! I've just started running, and the average style sports bra just doesn't hold up, if you know what I mean!

  4. Ever since I got pregnant with my first son (and my boobs grew 3 sizes!)I have been trying to find a bra that supports me and actually works...maybe this will be the one! I would love to win!

  5. I love sports bras. This one seems like a very good one, and thanks for having sizes for "bigger" ladies. A lot of sports bras end at 38C - GEEZ!

  6. No matter what size you are, when you hit a certain age we all need Support!! I am a 36C and I have yet to find the perfect Sports Bra! This sounds like a good possibility to me!

  7. I have always had trouble with this - being well endowed and after a kid it is even worse. Please count me in - won't put size here if you don't mind :)

  8. I have not been able to find a sports bra that fits right and holds well since Im somewhat big busted. Hope to win this and finally have a sports bra that I like

  9. I NEED a new sports bra. I have not lost the baby weight - Lily is only 8 weeks old - and the only sports bra I have that fits is in HORRIBLE shape - you don't really want to know how bad! Now I really need one when I work out since I am nursing. I would love to win the Fabulous Athletic Bra because $90 for a bra is too much for me to spend right now.

  10. A sports bra in MY size. What a novel idea! Never could figure out why the people that need one the most have the hardest time finding one.

  11. My wife is still looking for the perfect runnign bra - and I think she woudl rather I not post her size here!

    thanks!

  12. This bra looks so comfortable! As I have aged things are just beginning to be a little droopy and I think this is just what I need to support me during workouts or even just working around the house. You know on those days you really don't want to wear a bra but you still do because you have to.

    Thanks for the contest!

  13. I really need a workout bra! I've quit smoking and started to get back into shape. I'm feeling pretty good - but a little "bouncy" when I exercise. Ha, ha!

  14. this would be great for me, so i can finally start doing aerobics again, so i'm not out of control, hehehe!

  15. I would love to win this for my 13 year old daughter.

She is a 40DD and moving into a DDD, she really needs a bra that she can wear that will be comfortable in all day. She plays soccer and it's hard to find a bra that will work for her active life!

    Great giveaway!

  16. Oh wow! this is an amazing contest! I've always had a bigger chest than anyone in my family and have always had problems finding a bra that actually fits. To this day, I still don't have one that fits right. Please enter me!

  17. While I am not blessed with much in the way of "endowment", infact I am smaller than before I had my two kids, I have had trouble finding good support and comfort - I also hate the feel of the "uni-boob" and this one looks like it doesn't do that! I hope you give me a chance to own it!

  18. This would be awesome! I'm still getting used to being "well-endowed" after having my 2 kids. Needless to say, the pregnancy "growth" never went away after either pregnancy, so they just keep getting bigger! LOL!

  19. I hate those unstructured sports bras that squish everything into one big monoboob. These bras have separate cups and look *much* better than the sports bras I've tried in the past.

  20. Man, a sports bra that is supportive like this one is a dream come true for larger chested women. The only "good" sports bra I have is the Enell (sp?) and one only works for so long, ya know?!

  21. This looks wonderful, and I can definitely use it as I just started going to the gym on a regular basis.

  22. I would love a good quality sports bra, it's almost impossible to find one that keeps everything from moving around and performs like it's supposed to. This one looks fabulous!

  23. I absolutely agree with others comments. It seems impossible to find a good exercise bra in anything larger than a C size. Thanks for finding a solution!

  24. OMG I totally could use this in a size 38DDD. It is so hard to find a sports bra in my size. The bigger they are the harder they fall you know. I could really use the support. Thanks!

  25. Happy Easter! I have not seen an athletic bra that looks like an everyday one. I like it! I have only seen the typical type. Please enter me in your drawing. I appreciate it! Thanks,Cindi

  26. I never thought after having my first child my chest would need more support than it did prior to pregnancy. I'm still on the prowl for the perfect exercise bra. Would love to try this one out!

  27. I definitely need to 'Keep My Bounce in Check'. And to think they make bras for the larger gal. This would be perfect for me.

  28. Finally a sports bra for "well-endowed" women. I could really use this bra for my fast walks in the park. I have several friends that could use this Fabulous Athletic Bra, too.

  29. I can relate! I need a good workout bra that minimizes the bounce and that is affordable. It's hard finding one that fits.

  30. It's tough enough finding the time and energy to work out and then to be uncomfortable is just too much. This sounds like a great motivator!

  31. I have such a hard time finding a bra that fits and is comfortable. This bra looks like it might do the trick.

  32. Oh my gosh, I've been looking for something like this for years! I've purchased so many bras that don't work for even simple things like running around the yard with my kids. After my last son was born and nursed for 2+ years, Im a whole bra size larger and I've noticed the issues even more. I'd love so much to win!!

  33. I could use a better bra for my morning work outs! This line of bras looks like it would be much more comfortable than the ones I'm use to wearing.
    Thanks for a great giveaway,
    Marissa :)

  34. Amen I can completely relate to the trauma of bra shopping! I have trouble finding any bra that fits and is comfy. I've always wanted a sports bra but have never found one in my size that didn't give me the "uniboob" effect! I would be soo happy to have a supportive sports bra for my workouts.

  35. Need one for my aging bounciers. This bra is what I have been looking for a long time. I am tired of my front getting tired before I do. I have been binding them up so gravity did not give me a new spring to my run that should not be there.

    Thank you
    THANK YOU

  36. So hard to find good sports bras; would love to give this one the test! Thanks for another great contest!

  37. I would love to give this a try. I have been walking, but I want to add running to my exercise routine once the weather gets nicer.

  38. I would love to win this, size 40D. I might finally be able to work out without being embarassed.

  39. I need this badly. LOL. I hate all the sports bras out there. They are not comfortable and mash me down. This looks really nice. I may be inclined to exercise more if I had this.

  40. I've tried straping them down, double up on the sports bras, tight t-shirts on top of the double up, you name it and i've probably tried it at least once. Front hook, no hook, back hook....but still no real hook-up. This bra looks like the answer to the jiggle, muffin top, the side spill, and the uniboob. I think the FAB will make my workout tops look nicer too. So, look out kickboxing class FAB is ready for class. [email protected]

  41. I don't have many bras due to not being able to find comfortable ones, I haven't found a Sports bra yet to my liking......would love to try this one!

    36C

  42. I've bought and thrown out more sports bras than I care to remember. It would be great to have one that really fits and does what it's supposed to do. Great giveaway!

  43. I'd love to give this bra my run test! With your positive comments, fingers crossed to win.

  44. This is exactly whay I need when I work out. I haven't found a sports bra that I really liked. This should work well. A 40DD please.

  45. Im desprate for a good bra, I wear mine til they fall apart and Im getting to that point again!! 40C pleaseeeeeeee!!

  46. Wow! I have needed one of these for years! I have never found a sports bra that did what it was supposed to. Not ever! I suffered through boot camp, and four years of the Navy wearing sports bras that never fit right, or gave me the support I needed. I wear a 36DDD, and I can barely find bras that fit me, period!

  47. Having the right workout gear would definitely help me get back into the groove (one less excuse as to why I just can't do it!). And I'm sure Hubby didn't mind helping you with the bouncing test...lol. :o) Thanks for the chance to win! gumbi1313 at msn dot com

  48. My girls are really being affected by gravity these days and these seem so comfortable that I could sleep in it. Finding a good bra is essential to my wardrobe, and this looks perfect.
    Thank you

  49. This looks incredibly comfortable which is exactly what I require in a bra and after 4 kids I need the support this offers too. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  50. Hi. This bra sounds fantastic!!! It would be so great to have this to start my new workout after having my 3rd kid 6 weeks ago. I bought a cheap sports bra at a local store and the straps broke within a few days!!! Ugggghhhh!!! My oldest daughter at the age of 9 is my fashion consultant...she tells me if things look good or not. So if I had this bra I could just go back to listening to her make comments about my stretch marks!!!

  51. I love that they put so much thought into this bra - a gal like me who loves high underwire & support appreciates it!

  52. I could *really* use this. After nursing for a total of 3 years, my 36DD's are so hard to fit in a sports bra!!! Thanks :)

  53. this sounds like something I need! after having several children, this sounds like the support I want :)
