FitMama: Healthy Snack Options for Moms, Part 2

FitMama: Healthy Snack Options for Moms, Part 2 1I have another healthy snack option for you to consider. MI-DEL Cookies are all-natural cookies made with organic/natural flour and without high fructose corn syrup.

Most of the cookies in the MI-DEL collection are "snaps": you'll find ginger snaps, vanilla snaps, chocolate snaps, oatmeal raisin snaps, and lemon snaps. MI-DEL also offers honey graham crackers and chocolate sandwich cookies. Many of the cookies are also offered in "all organic", "gluten free," and "dairy-free" varieties.

To help you get to know more about the cookies, I came up with some questions that you might ask and interviewed myself (weird, I know).

Q. What was your favorite MI-DEL cookie of the ones that you sampled?
A. Definitely the Oatmeal Raisin Snaps (they were sweet, but not too sweet)! I also enjoyed the Ginger Snaps.

Q. What was your least favorite?
A. Chocolate Snaps, although I should qualify that by saying that I'm not a big fan of chocolate-flavored cookies in general. I didn't try the gluten-free varieties or the chocolate sandwich kind.

Q. Are the cookies soft or crunchy?
A. Crisp and crunchy. These are snaps, not warm cookies right out of the oven. If you're in the mood for crunchy cookies that you can take with you on-the-go, these would fit in that category.

Q. Can I eat the Ginger Snaps to alleviate morning sickness?
A. Many pregnancy websites (including the "10 Ways to Manage Morning Sickness" article on the BabyCenter website and the "Ginger Eases Morning Sickness" study published on the WebMD site) suggest using ginger as a way to manage emesis gravidarum (a.k.a. "morning sickness"). Although the studies are preliminary and most physicians recommend only moderate uses of ginger, you might want to ask your care provider about taking ginger (perhaps in the form of ginger snaps) to help combat nausea and vomiting.

Q. Where can I buy MI-DEL cookies?
A. Thousands of stores across the country! Check out the full list here. You can also buy MI-DEL cookies on Amazon.com.
