FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent

FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent 1Have you ever been doing something for/with your kids and suddenly thought, "somebody really needs to invent a..."? Those are the kind of thoughts that lead to brilliant products and services - and some parents actually act on their intuitions and go on to become savvy businesspeople. All because of a "problem" that they experienced...

For example, my 2-year-old daughter loves eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but isn't particularly fond of the crusts. I actually sympathize with that preference because the best part of PB&Js is assuredly the soft bread, the creamy peanut butter, and the fruity jam.

FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent 2Somewhere out there another parent was experiencing that exact same dilemma and thus invented the Good Bites Sandwich Slicer and Decruster ($5.99). Just press the cutter down and there you have it...a sandwich without the crust! Yes, it's wasteful, I know (I do feel the tiniest bit guilty when I use this contraption...), but it's also fun and makes the sandwiches taste oh-so-yummy.

FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent 3That's just one example of many clever products that are the brainchild of smart parents. You can find other products in that category over at Inventive Parent, a family-owned business that specializes in parent-invented products. From swaddle blankets to nursing covers to eco-friendly toys, there are products in almost every category.

  1. There is so many wonderful items on their website! my kids would love the Super Deluxe Sand Sculpting Kit for sure. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway so close to the holidays!

  2. For SURE! I'd buy the Super Deluxe Sand Sculpting Kit. We live near a beach, but just don't go that often. I think a Christmas trip to the beach to build sand castles is in order this year.

  3. I'd love to get an Apron set for each of my granddaughters! They really enjoy helping Mommy in the kitchen with her baking!

  4. First of all, that sandwich slicer and decruster above is awesome, I really need one of those! From the site, I love the zoobies pets travel companion!!

  5. My girls would like the little cook baking sets. They love to help out in the kitchen. I also love the dress up vanity and the costume carosel.

  6. I would get my baby daughter a pair of Halo 100% Organic Cotton Coveralls in Tea Party Dots pattern. Thanks so much for such a great giveaway, what a neat site!

  7. Tough choice!! They have a ton of great stuff. I'd like to get my daughter a Zoobie or maybe the Halo early walker sleepsack. Thanks! m_huston(at)hotmail(dot)com

  8. Goodness me, so much catches my eye. The bounce-a-bye- baby ball would have been perfect when my oldest was an infant. I really like the cooking towers and the my own shower thingy. It'd take me awhile to actually decide what to spend a gift cert. on.

  9. A couple of things ; one the shower for kids is amazing, my son would freak out over that. The other is that toilet paper roll keeper. Just yesterda yi had an entire toilet paper roll pulled off and thrown around the bathroom. Oh what a site. Thanks for the chance to win.

  10. Those Wildfire Tire Swings are awesome! My grandpa had one of these on his tree when I was a kid and my sisters and I all used to fight over it.

  11. There are several things I would get. First I think i'd choose the boon flo. I've been wanting that for awhile now. I might get the my own shower although my niece hates the shower. Maybe with this she'd like them. I also love the Bentwood arches and tunnels.

Wow! there are so many great products at this site.

  12. Thanks for introducing me to this site. It's great! I love the little cook set, complete with measuring cups & a funnel. Very fun. Gotta love the dress up carousel too!

  13. Those wedgits have to be some of the coolest things ever! I would definitely buy some of those for my girls. :o) Thanks

  14. The eco friendly table toppers would be a godsend. I hate going to restaurants for the simple fact that I know the tables are unclean and their is no way my dd will keep her food on her plate. Heck I'm lucky if the plate stays on the table. I also really like the sandwich cutters its such a neat idea. Thanks for a great giveaway.

  15. That cooking stool looks pretty cool, but expensive...so the gift certificate would go towards that. Good website/items!

  16. This is what I want The Learning Tower
Sturdy Hardwood Step Stool and Platform
Safely Raises Kids to Countertop Height

I've seen it around and really want one for my kids.

However I'd settle with this for now wooden snail block

  17. When Mikayla was born I really could have used this website. She was only 5 pounds so I need to shop the premie section but there was no premie section. She spent the first few weeks of life in a short sleeve onies wrapped in a blanket. Luckily she grew VERY quickly.

What would I buy with this - Diaper Dress, the holder for diapers and wipes, the bath tub organizer, Melissa and Doug Mailbox (I love their stuff).

  18. Opps...sorry, I forgot what I would get...the Bananagrams game!
You can use this comment as my comment to let you know that you are in my blog roll! :)~

  19. Seriously, my son, Caleb...hates the crust, too! I always have to cut it off! This parent was a genius for creating this!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. I like the Learning Tower Sturdy Step. The website didn't work so well on my mac. All the products were in a box well to the left of the screen and the text was only half legible.

  22. I would put the GC towards the Light Night. This would be great for my son to have close by his bed at night. It is cool to the touch so he can carry it into the bathroom or light the way to our room if he gets up in the middle of the night.

  23. I've been looking at the Flo Water Deflector/Faucet Cover thingymajig... my 15 month-old daughter completely freaks out when it comes to washing her hair and I've been thinking about getting one of those to try and see if that helps... right now, I have to get in the tub with her and let her lay in my lap to wash her hair without her completely freaking out!

I keep meaning to add your button to my blog... I'll go do that right now :)

  24. My kiids would love the paintable cottage. So cute!! I'd probably have to buy two, so they wouldn't fight over it! ;)
