  6. My 5 year old daughter has been asking to take ballet lessons. She said she either wants ballet or gymnastics. I would love to sign her up for lessons. I am really considering doing so, I just want to make sure it is something she will stick with. But, I really think she would, she talks about it constantly.

  7. We all look forward to our "ballet class Mondays"! ;-)
By the looks of those pictures, Kayla has been paying attention in class. Lovely form:)
I happen to know a certain 4 year old who could use a larger leotard with a ittle more coverage on her cute ballerina behind;-) Thanks for hosting this!

    1. I do love that the skirts on Capezio leotards are a little longer in length than comparable options at big-box stores.

  8. I just found out my brother and his wife are having their first child ... a GIRL!! Seeing as how my youngest is 15 (a boy) and my daughter is 22, I am so excited to now have a reason to start thinking of gifts for my niece!! Would love to win this to have for her for when she turns 4 or 5. :-)

  9. Oh I love this! I was a dancer before kids and now I am to busy to take classes but oh how I loved it! If I shut my eyes I can still smell the dance studio. I love Capezio leotards and ballet shoes!

  11. Capezio products are a quality name that I recognize, they are what I wore when I danced as a kid! Totally classic and gorgeous on any child.

  12. I love these products and think they will be precious on my daughter. I hope that she will enjoy dancing as she grows up and these tights and slippers may inspire her to.

  13. Ive actually been considering buying my 3year old a leotard.. She dances around the housevand is fascinated with ballet.. If we win, i might just gave to sign her up for classes!

  14. Your girls are so cute! My girls love to dress up as ballerinas and play around the house but every time that I mention a dance class they get funny and say that they dont want to take one. That is a good idea putting them in one together, maybe I will try that with mine next year.

  15. My 3 year old and 5 year old are both going to take a Rapunzel dance class in two weeks. Now I know where I can get their shoes from. Thanks for the post.

  16. Oh my daughter would absolutely love this! What little girl doesn't love being a ballerina!

  17. I have two young daughters who were in dance academy last year. Both of them told me they want to dance again when it starts back up in the the fall. It looks like I' ll be taking inventory of their dance attire soon. The Capezio ensemble would be a great addition to their collection.

  18. This is something I will have to show my sister-in-law. She's used to do ballet and I'm sure she would love to see her little girl in this outfit. Awesome ensemble!

  19. My daughter signed up for ballet this summer and has been enjoying it so far. This prize pack from Capezio would be a wonderful surprise for her.

  20. Those are the sweetest pictures! My daughter loves ballet, and we've recently been rewatching the Pacific NW ballet's version of the Nutcracker.

  21. Both of my daughters were big into all kinds of dance and now my granddaughter just finished a two week introductory ballet class. Last week she came over to show off her new moves and it was adorable! I would LOVE to give her some proper apparel for more ballet classes in her future!

  22. My daughter enjoys dance. I think its cute that one of your kids want to do it again and the other is choosing pottery.

  23. My daughter is 3 1/2 and loves ballet. She has been doing it for about 3 months now. We purchased her leotard, tights, and ballets shoes at Capezio & love them! It is now time for new ballet atire :)

  24. Your daughters are beautiful! I remember going to dancing from 3-6 years. If I win this, I would give this to my niece. My sister is a single mom & just started my 3 year old niece in ballet :)

  25. Love it! {Couldn't help myself}. Seriously tho, love this brand. Hoping to get my daughter back into dance again this fall. We got her the Disney Princess Capezio line earlier this year but she'll be out of that in no time! Winning here would be wonderful!

  26. I loved ballet when I was a little girl and I'm hoping my little girl will love it as much as I did!

  27. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and the both love to dance! I could just see them never wanting to get out of a ballet uniform if we had one. I hope to enroll them in some dance lessons in the near future.

  28. Our oldest will begin ballet lessons this fall. She is so excited to be like Angelina Ballerina! I've been looking in thrift shops for ballet outfits, and have thankfully had a bit of luck, but it would be great to have just a few more pieces for her!

  29. Aww- sweet pics of your girlies. While we dont do dance around here, (gymnastics), these look like great leotards. Some of the brands we've had we haven;t been impressed with- none was capezio though

  30. I really love the little skirt! We are starting dancing after school starts, this would be really cute!

  31. We are staring dancing in the fall after school starts. THis would be so cute. I really love the little skirt.

  32. I'd have to agree - Capezio has great tights! Paige has taken ballet for a year now and I'm so impressed with the discipline and poise she's learned. I do love watching her practice her positions and arabesques!

  33. my daughter grew up with dance, especially ballet but got burnt out at a young age. she is now in tenth grade and just started taking classes again. please urge your daughter to stick with it! my daughter regrets wasting that time

  34. These are so cute! And such perfect timing as my grandaughter just started ballet. I know she would love this ensemble! I'd love to be able to give it to her. Thank you for this giveaway.

  35. How perfect! I literally registered my 3 year old daughter for dance this afternoon! :). This will be her first time taking dance and I think I'm just as excited as she is. Thank you for the chance to win!

  36. Can't wait for my daughter to take a dance class. Everyday she 'practices' by looking at her ballet books and coping the positions, so cute! She doesn't have any ballet 'gear' though, I know she would love this!

  37. When I was a kid I couldn't wait until I was old enough to take ballet, and for 3 years I loved it until one day I decided I was done. I will start my daughter on dance lessons at some point, but I'm afraid of overscheduling her!

  38. Have been wearing Capezio myself since I started dance, they really do have the best dancewear!

  39. Have 4 grandkids in dance with my daughter as one of the instructors ... the boys seem to think it's more fun than the girls

  40. I just adore little girls in their dance outfits. We have decided to put our 7 year old in dance this year. I believe she will be doing hip hop ( per her request.)

  41. My daughter is three and really wants to take dance lessons--she watches Angelina Ballerina all the time, and is convinced she wants to be the next Angelina! Thanks for this opportunity to win.

  42. Ballet and tap has always been a family favorite in this household!
    Carla
    cpullum(at)yahoo(dot)com

  43. My 3 year old wants to do dance badly. I almost signed her up for our Parks and Rec ballet & tap class, but for a 6 week class (including tap and ballet shoes, not inculding leotards) it was going to be over $95. I didn't think that 6 weeks was worth that price so we scrapped it. I still really want to get her into some dance program hopefully soon!

  44. My niece is the little dancer in our family! She just got on pointe in ballet and would love a new leotard!

  45. Did your girls like ballet? I'm excited to get Lucy started! I'm thinking maybe this fall. I did a parent/child gymnastics class with her this past winter and she loved it! I've been cautious of general dance classes up to this point because honestly a lot of them seem so risqué. But I think a class specializing in only ballet would be perfect!

    1. Yes, they're having fun, but I'm not sure that either of them LOVE it. We'll probably try something new (art, swimming, soccer, etc.) in the fall.

  46. Great giveaway! My 4 year old LOVES dance. I think the only reason my 7 year old takes it is because her friends are taking dance - she would rather take an art class but those are much more expensive. I know my 4 year old will want this outfit when I go to enroll her in dance classes in teh fall.

  47. Our 3 year old son has no interest in dance but I can definitely see our 7 week old potentially interested in dance. She already loves music. I like that the clothes are still modest and fit for young girls.

PS - Aren't Parks and Rec departments wonderful? It's a great way to expose children to a variety of classes without paying an arm and leg.

  48. First, what precious girls you have! They have the sweetest smiles! :) Secondly, thank you for sharing this. We are thinking about enrolling our oldest in dance this Fall and I wanted to know a quality company that sell the clothes. I am bookmarking this for the future!

  49. I would like it if my girls would each try dance and see if they like it, I have a feeling at least one of them would. Such cute pictures!

  50. My girls love their leotards! They would wear them all the time if they could! My 3 year old will be taking gymnastics with my niece next month (through parks and rec) and my 4 year old will be taking dance (probably ballet) in the fall! They are excited!

  51. My daughter has finally reached the "dance school" age and has been asking to go since several of her friends signed up and of course they ALL have cute outfits. I was just talking with my husband about this a few weeks back. I told him I really wanted to get her involved in it because I remember wanting the same thing at her age. I constantly begged my mother to sign up for dance class, but since my brother was involved in soccer, it was just more convenient for her to enter me in the same thing. I decided that I will allow my kids to be individuals and whatever they decide they want to be involved in, they should! So, I am extremely trilled my little girl has chosen dance... and she chose it all on her own!

  52. Your girls look too sweet. Very cute!

I am trying to decide on whether I should enroll my 3-year old this year or next in a ballet class. We did swimming and she loved it. Our town is small and doesn't offer all that much for the kiddos.

  53. How sweet!! My 6 year old daughter loves to dance. She was enrolled in ballet about year ago but then it competed with soccer so she doesn't do it anymore but she absolutely loved it!

  54. Your girls look so sweet. My Lily just started ballet two weeks ago and LOVES it. This post is perfect timing for me even if I don't win. We are having a really hard time finding a nice leotard and all of the other stuff for Lily locally and I had no idea where to look online. Thanks.

  55. Lovely! My 5yo had a brief stint in ballet class when she was 3, but she wasn't terribly cooperative - she kept doing freestyle amidst all the other little dancers. But she absolutely adores dancing and wears her ballet outfits regularly for at-home performances. This would be such fun...

  56. my older sister took ballet and we had lots of leotards in my closet growing up although i never did take ballet. My dream as a little girl was to be a princess ballerina and I used to dance around the house in my sisters old leotards. Now that I have my own little girl I would love to take her to ballet lessons. It would probably also really help her with her balance and coordination. Thanks for bringing up the idea, I have some homework this weekend looking up local ballet schools.

  57. My daughter liked her dance class pretty well too, but I'm not sure I want to pursue that "sport" if she likes others as well / better. She did a one week soccer "camp" earlier this month and had a lot of fun. The coaches made it fun, with lots of games that were aimed at developing skills. I don't think they tried to teach much in the way of soccer rules other than no hands allowed.

    1. I'd like our girls to try a variety of activities in the coming years. Soccer would be a fun option. Maybe we'll consider that for the fall. :)

What extracurricular activities did you participate in during your elementary, middle, high school, and college years?

  58. Cute. I put my son, Van, in dance last summer. It was fantastic. He was the only boy, but he seemed to have fun and I liked the diversity of the activity. Sadly, the teacher is only doing camps this year and I like to do classes not camps (1 week of intense stimulation and then a whole lot of empty weeks over the summer doesn't seem like a good idea).

  59. Right now I think my son would get more out of a ballerina costume... His sister is a die-hard cars and truck fan, and at 2 and 3, gender stuff doesn't seem like something to make a big deal about :). That said, I look forward to the day when I can dress my daughter up and be girly with her. This is fun, Stephanie! And maybe the kids will someday be in Guys and Dolls! :)

  60. My 5 year old loves ballet and needs a new leotard set that fits! By the way congrats on the new baby! She is adorable! Its been a while since i visited your blog and i seem to have missed alot!

    1. Thank you for the warm wishes. I need to post some more pictures of the baby soon. She is growing so fast!

  61. Stephanie, you just gave me a FABULOUS idea!!! I have been wanting to get our little Miss into dance, but all the "studios" are SO pricey!!! I totally forgot about Parks & Rec?! Do you know if the Fall schedule is out yet?

    1. The Fall 2012 catalog will be available on July 16th. Registration begins on July 22 for city residents and July 25 for non-city residents.

  62. My 5YO loves ballet. I think at that age it depends on the teacher, and Riley was fortunate to have a fantastic one. I have her signed up for a class that starts next week, her first since we moved. My fingers are crossed that she will find as much pleasure in this new class.

  63. So cute! Roo was in dance but has been more interested in science camps lately. We still have a couple of months to fill with new hobbies, though, so I'm hopeful...

  64. My two year old has been enjoying dance classes now for a few months. Though she goes to daycare part time, it's been enjoyable to watch her learn, interact and have fun with a new group of children and teachers. The instructors take the children through different ballet basics as they play with scarves, shakers, drumsticks, bubbles and a variety of other props. I don't know who has more fun...me or my daughter? :)

  65. My 3 & 5 yr old also take dance class through our parks and rec dept. It is nice because it is more affordable than others and they love it. They would love to have new dance clothes and better ballet slippers. I made the mistake of buying the cheap ones at target.

    1. I like the laid-back atmosphere of the parks & rec classes in our city - especially for little ones. Our girls actually aren't even required to have ballet slippers, so they go barefoot...just like their teacher. :)

  66. Nothing cuter than little ones in ballerina outfits! My girls have not done ballet or dance yet. We have done gymnastics and swimming through the local parks and rec. I definitely want to enroll them in dance at some point for fun!

  67. I danced for 23 years (I majored in it in college!) and my daughter has danced for the last 3 years (she's 4!). I think it must be in our genes...nothing makes me feel more relaxed then dancing!

  68. I took ballet as a child and it was really fun. I will always remember the ballet recital and the costume I wore. I plan to have my daughter take ballet as soon as she's old enough. She's turning 3 in August so hopefully soon!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    1. I took ballet as a little girl too...all the way up through high school. I have MANY fond memories of the experience (although I don't think it was particularly healthy for my body image, especially in middle school).

  69. I think I bought this exact leotard for my daughter when she started dance last fall. We love it! I need to sign her up again, as she has been begging to take more dance lessons. We took a break for winter and the new baby's arrival, but now that baby is 6 months old, we still haven't signed her back up. Oh how I wish there was a class for my 2 year old too, since she wants to dance so bad and I know it will be a challenge to keep her out of the room during her big sister's class.

    1. That leotard is nice, isn't it? I appreciate that the skirt is a little longer than most - and it washes very well.
