itzbeen - Clever Name, Clever Gadget

itzbeen - Clever Name, Clever Gadget 1I remember the early days after my baby made her arrival. That exhausting, milky oblivion. The wonder. The inexplainable love and magic. The overwhelming chaos in which time stood still.

In the midst of being tired beyond comprehension, I was supposed to remember when my baby ate last and what color her poop was and if I fed her on my left or right. The hospital checked us out with a "feeding chart" on colored paper, but the record-keeping wreaked havoc on an already-enormous workload.

It would have been so wonderful to have an itzbeen in those days - to tell us exactly how long it had been since we fed or changed our baby. This little gadget is extremely clever. It features a clock, a nightlight, a L/R switch, and little buttons for you to push to track when baby was fed, changed, or napped last. It even allows you to set a "reminder alarm" for each timer - no more waking up in a sweat with "Was the baby supposed to have eaten by now?" on your mind.

Best of all, the itzbeen is just under $26 so it won't break the bank. And it can grow with you too. I still keep it by my daughter's bedside so I can check the time or turn on the little nightlight during night wakings. And some parents report using it to monitor TV time or to aid in the potty training process as well.

This little gadget was designed by parents - and it shows! You can purchase your own in green or blue here.

  1. When I first heard about these I knew I needed one -- I'm really forgetful! And I never thought about using it for TV time!

  2. I saw this product awhile ago and told all my friends about it... I'm now expecting baby 3 and would LOVE to have one of my own :) jennik at insightbb dot com.

  3. This product is one of those really cool ones that have just recently come about - I'd love it!

  4. This would make a great gift for a sweet little friend of mine. I remember those days when I was exhausted and my husband was running around like crazy tending all the other details. Wow, things have really changed now that my little one is a toddler. Oh boy, those were crazy days!

  5. It was this product I dreamed about with each of my daughters' births. Those charts suck! (And I could never read my chicken-scratch handwriting the next morning anyway) I'd love to have this to give to my sister-in-law, who is expecting. If only there was a spot to chart which side they last fed on too...I'd always forget to switch my bracelet.

  6. I just found out about these and I think they sound amazing...I had such a hard time remember which side I nursed on last...(and then you'd pay for it all nite...) This would come in handy when number 3 comes along.

  7. I wrote down every single time my daughter ate from birth to just over age one. Whew, talk about a lot of pages! This little gadget sure would've come in handy ;)

  8. This is such a great product! I would love to have them. I have the hardest time keeping track of feedings, nursing sessions and diaper changes.

  9. I've always been intrigued by this little gadget. When I learned that it has a lighted display, I was sold. I would *love* to have one. It will make keeping track of the nighttime nursing schedule so much easier than trying to write in a log in the dark!

  10. Wow. I SO could have used this. Do you know I meticulously charted my daughter's feedings, diaper changes, etc. for over a month? I was a tad neurotic, so this gadget is totally made for me. Please enter me!

  11. Oh too cool! I remember trying to write times and numbers on a piece of paper with my first, and then losing the paper, forgeting, etc. This would be excellent for my soon-to-be second! :)

  13. I seem to be one of the few daddy bloggers. Thanks for our chance to win. This would be great for our new babe.

  14. I think this is ingenious! I remember the first hazy days. Keeping track of food and poo was like having a fifth job. Sometimes I was so tired I couldn't even remember to take note of feedings.

Thanks for the chance to win. All new moms can use free stuff so they can save money for diapers.

  15. This beats my own monster chart on a clipboard anyday! :) Still remember my hubby asking - what's EEO? And I told him that means his son got his dipes changed 3 times already - 2 pEE and 1 pOO. LOL!

  16. This would be awesome for my sons medication schedule! Very important that you don't get those times wrong!

  17. Now that baby #2 is on the way I definitely need one of these things. Trying to write it all down when you are half asleep just doesn't work. This product would be a lifesaver and would make tracking a breeze.

  18. I would love to win this for my brother & sis-in-law - they're expecting in August. When our (now 16 mos. old) son was born, my husband and I drove ourselves crazy trying to come up with charts/lists/whatever to keep track of everything. This looks so easy! I'd love to save them the headache.

    Thanks!

  19. OMG. I am so going to need this, I just know it. Between my shoddy memory and the fact that at some point I"ll be in class and the baby will be with my hubby who needs reminders for freaking everything, or my mom who... well forgets pretty much everything ever, this will be a lifesaver!

  20. This seems like such a fantastic product! Great that they included a "bonus" button. This would be especially helpful for parents of special-needs babies.
