  1. Looks like you had such a great Christmas! What a big year this will be for you guys!!

We had a great one- the best one yet!

    xoxo

  2. We had cinnamon rolls and eggs and bacon for breakfast too! Our Christmas was fantastic...I have yet to post about it. We spend Christmas Eve with a close friend's family (they are family to me) - this is my 15th Christmas with them and Markus' 7th! We have a fabulous evening over there and then Christmas day is spent with our little family of four. We woke up (way too early), opened some presents (we bought for kids only too), and then had a great breakfast. Went for a walk on the beach, back home before the rain started again and then once the kiddos go to bed, Markus and I make a seafood feast with shrimp, scallops, king crab, mussels, yummy bread, white wine...it is delish! The kids were overjoyed with the gifts they did receive. Analise said, "It is so nice of Jesus to let us open presents on HIS birthday!"

    1. What is your favorite "style" of white wine? I'm still pretty new to the wine scene, but lately I'm loving Moscato.

  3. Hopefully soon I'll post about Christmas :) It is my busiest time of the year at work :(

    I love your Christmas photos.

We didn't decorate cookies because I burned them. Luckily we were able to read the nativity and the night before Christmas.

  4. oh I miss the days in Arizona with our orange trees and freshly squeezed OJ! Hope your Christmas was a good one!

  5. I loved that we didn't rush our son to open all of his presents quickly. It literally took all day and included nap breaks -- not because he had so many presents, but because he took time to explore and enjoy each one. I think the rate was about one gift per hour.

There were many favorite moments, but the one that really stands out was him finding his baby doll in bed with us when he woke up. He said "ahhhhhhhhhh" and gave it a big hug and kiss. It was incredibly sweet! It is a Dapper Dan doll that teaches dressing skills and has a cute face with big eyes and ears (it looks like our son).

    Merry Christmas Stephanie!

  6. Our kids were up at 5:30am and were so excited to see presents under the tree. We had to wait for my husband to get home from the fire station....which wasn't until 8:30am. I had to get VERY creative to keep them occupied:)

My highlight was watching the kids open the presents they bought for each other. They were so excited to see how the other would react. My son looked at our daughter and said,"Wow, thank you sissy! I really love my present." My heart exploded with love!

  7. We started our day at 5:15 AM ;) and opened presents. Our son just turned 2 and now understands presents! My husband and I didn't exchange gifts either.....which is the best gift we can give each other! Then my husband cooked up a huge delicious breakfast and then we had my mother-in-law over (we celebrate with my parents on a different day) and just relaxed! We also watched A Christmas Story, then took a nice long family nap. It was heavenly!

  8. This was my son's first Christmas. At 5 months he's old enough to help unwrap (and promptly stuff the paper into his mouth) and still innocent enough to not care a bit what he got. I think watching the grandparents' faces as he "unwrapped" gifts was the most fun - so much love there that I am very thankful for.

  9. Sounds like my kind of breakfast! Love that you squeeze your orange juice too. Its the best way to go. I am inspired to write a Christmas post too, you can come visit in a bit. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
