Make Someone's Day --- Give...Baked Goods

Make Someone's Day --- Give...Baked Goods 1

I try to keep baking basics in my pantry at all times: vanilla, flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, honey, cinnamon, wheat germ, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, oats, and nuts.

That way, when one of my friends is in a funk or has the blues, I can bake something...and then present it in a fun way.

Baked treats are also great for those last minute times when you want to celebrate the people in your life - birthdays, hooray-you-got-an-A on the spelling test, congrats on your new job, etc.

Wilton is my go-to shop for baking boxes, bags, and accessories. They offer a wide variety of products at affordable prices.

Make Someone's Day --- Give...Baked Goods 2For Example, check out this Brownie Gift Box Kit. It's $2.99 for 3 boxes. Just bake up some world-class brownies, place one in each box, and deliver them to friends, coworkers, or teachers in your child's classroom. These Caramel-Pecan Brownies from Allrecipes.com look decadent and delicious.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you prefer to bake cookies or melt-in-your-mouth candies, you'll like the versatility of these Treat Boxes ($3.19 Pk./3). These simple white window boxes are particularly fun for kids because you can dress them up with stickers and markers. Below you'll see the Happy New Year boxes we made for our next door neighbors in early January:

Make Someone's Day --- Give...Baked Goods 3-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make Someone's Day --- Give...Baked Goods 4For lollipops, gumdrops, and peppermints, these Clear Treat Bags are just the thing. You get 50 for $2.89 so they're a real steal.

These Sugar Coated Pecans would be perfect inside.

Or you could make Crock Pot Chocolate-Peanut Clusters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make Someone's Day --- Give...Baked Goods 5Finally, if you'd like to give a healthier treat, you can bake mini loaves of blueberry zucchini bread or buttermilk cinnamon bread or another bread of your choosing using Wilton's AvantiEverglide metal-safe non-stick 4 cavity mini loaf pan ($21.49).

  4. What great ideas, we usually bake gift baskets at christmas for gifts but your right that would be a great thing to do anytime of year for when a friend needs cheering up,a sports win for your kids and all other occasions you can think of. 7. My friend made some heart Valentine brownies for our a party we had, it is amazing to me how cutting the brownies with a cookie cutter, adding a little frosting swirl and putting them in a clear treat bag tied with ribbon made them so special. It was not that much work, but they looked so much cutter than regular old brownies on a plate, sometimes just the little time and thoughtfulness go a long way.

  8. I made chocolate lollipops with my students. They loved them. Hopefully they made it home to their parents so that they could enjoy them too. It is fun making something for someone.

  9. I was thinking about opening an Etsy shop and those boxes are something that I would buy for my homemade treats. If I had the opportunity to try them out first, I would definitely purchase them in the future. Plus I absolutely love the Wilton brand because their pans are so reliable.

  10. We make trufles, banana and zuchinni breads, cookies, brownies and fudge. Oh, and I made hubby a cheesecake last year for his birthday that was a huge hit. Instead of using a graham cracker crust, I used peanut butter cookie dough. Everyone loved it.

  11. I love Wilton products! My favorite things to bake are cupcakes. But I love baking cakes and decorating them with my 3 year old son!

  13. I often make goodies for my husband's grandfather, who lives alone and has been going through a rough time. It'd be so nice to be able to gift them in those brownie boxes, and to make something new too! Thank you for the giveaway!

  14. Baking is the only cooking I do anymore, so this would be great to have! :) And the cookies in that picture look great! :)

  18. That is a great idea to have baking basics onhand to give baking gifts to cheer up your friends. I am going to try it :) inexpensive way to give my friends a smile

  19. After making the effort to make something special and homemade for someone it really is a shame to put them in poor packaging. These little gift packages are the perfect touch.

  20. I'd love to have these... I could use a new pan, most of mine were hand-me-downs from my GRANDMOTHER (and I'm in my 40's). lol

:) Thank you for the wonderful giveaway! :)

  29. Baking is one of my favorite pastimes. No wonder I'm about 40 pounds overweight. But I'm not complaining. It's terrific therapy and it puts smiles on all the recipients' faces.

These are great, and thanks for the possibility!

    bgcchs(at)yahoo(dot)com

  30. The 4 cavity mini loaf pan would be perfect! For the holidays, I generally bake small loaves of lemon bread and this would really make it easy!

  31. I give baked goods as gifts all the time, especially at holidays, even "little" holidays. I usually go the cellophane route, or sometimes the baggie route when packaging--but those little giftboxes are way cuter!

  32. I work at a public library with a small staff (almost all women). We work very hard from May through August serving the public with our summer reading program. To thank these ladies for all their hard work I bake treats for them each week. Boy do they disapppear in record time.

  33. I love to bake cupcakes for my family. Here is one of their favorite cookie recipes. I don't have a blog.
    1 box of gingerbread mix
    1/3 cup of water
1 cup almonds or other nuts
    1 cup raisins
mix everything and bake for 350 for 10 minutes.

  34. What fun products! My cousin actually made the Crockpot Chocolate Clusters for Christmas. They were really good and I could not believe that she made them in a crockpot!!

  35. I love to bake - even more than cooking. I would love to have cute boxes to give out my baked goods. Perfect for the holiday season!

  36. These products look like so much fun! I would love to make a treat for someone and present it in these cute little boxes or bags.

  38. I love that you are doing this giveaway!! I was just stocking up at ACMoore and these would make perfect additions to my hobby!!

  39. I just made a new recipe for Applesauce Loaf Cake over the weekend. My husband has demanded more walnuts so I can make it again already!

  40. I love to bake! People always are excited to receive baked goods from me as treats. It can brighten a day (of course, I love receiving them, too).

  41. My favorite thing to bake is my Grandmother's recipe for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. There is nothing like them!

  42. I love Wilton products for cake decorating. I borrowed a neighbor's mini loaf pans to make pumpkin chocolate chip bread a few months ago. I still have plenty of pumpkin puree in the freezer from the pumpkins we grew last summer. I would definitely make more of that bread if I had this pan.

  43. I love this giveaway, especially the mini loaf pan. It's one of those things I've always wanted but never done, and I'd love it.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  44. Wilton has been around as long as I can remember. I wish I had my mother's old Wilton bakeware.
    dolniaks[at]consolidated[dot]net

  45. My 4 year-old daughter loves to bake with Mama. Baking for others is a great way to teach a heart that puts others first...and lots of fun, too. I love the idea of these packages and am thinking my daughter would have a blast decorating packages herself.

  46. Never underestimate the power of a cookie!

    -Cranberry Bread from Betty Crocker
    -Brownies (Ghiradelli from a box)
-Peanut butter sandwiched in Ritz crackers and dipped in chocolate

  47. I love to bake but don't need a whole batch of any sweet treats in my house. This is a great way to enjoy baking, and a cookie or two, and then pass on the rest!

  48. One of my favorite baked goods is beer bread. It's made with beer, but turns out non-alcoholic. It's super easy and quick to make, and you can do all kinds of varieties (rosemary garlic, cinnamon raisin, cheddar pepper, strawberry vanilla) with just the one basic recipe.

  49. I would have to say brownies and cookies...I'm still working on figuring out little tarts. Love the packaging that you've shown - it really adds an extra something doesn't it?

  50. My favorite thing to bake for others is Chocolate Zucchini bread. Everyone loves it and it's so easy to tell when they want me to make it...they call me and tell me they have zucchini for me...even in the winter hahaha.

  51. I love the brownie boxes, I've seen and purchased the bags but the boxes are really wonderful. This makes me want to do more baking, can't wait to read more.

  52. My 4 year old loves to bake - it is a great kid activity to help measure and mix - and she gets so much pleasure from sharing what she makes

  53. Stephanie, those treat boxes, especially, are adorable! What a fun post -- and motivating. I'm going to make some brownies. (And I always add extra chocolate chips.) :)

  54. I like to bake birthday cakes for everyone at work. I try to find new and unique recipes and I keep notes on who likes what so I can make it for their next birthday.

  55. Love those individual treat boxes. Those would be perfect for "secret pals" and Santas. Just getting that one little "surprise" can totally change your day from low, low , low to great. I'd definitely put something very chocolate-y in one.

  56. I love to bake. My pantry is always well stocked with the basics and my husband and kids are the happy recipients of the yummiliciousness. I just bought some new Wilton cookie sheets that I LOVE! Nothing burns or sticks to them. Fabulous!

  57. I love the idea of that mini loaf pan! I have a favorite fall bread recipe that would make great mini gift loaves. :) Thanks

  58. The treat boxes are so cute! I like to share goodies but don't do it as often as I should outside of Christmas time. Those boxes would inspire me I think. I have given my mom and my SIL the mini loaf pan but don't have my own. I would love to win it! Thanks Stephanie for the fun giveaways and reminders or things I would like to be doing in my own life!

  59. I love baking. I especially like making cookies, preferably something chocolatey! I also like making mini muffins too because they are bite size and are good for snacking. I'd like to make the Buttermilk Cinnamon bread! Thanks.

  60. Our daughter just loves it when we bake. She insists on dumping all the ingredients in; although, she does need some assistance to keep from making a spill, etc. The last thing we made were vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting (real all-butter buttercream).

  61. I love baking themed cakes and I've had great experiences using Wilton's shaped pans. They're affordable and create a great product, making it easy to make my baking look professional!

  62. My favorite thing to bake for others is cupcakes -- made with love and whatever cake mixes/frosting I have on hand. They're so easy to make and always appreciated :) *Thanks* for the giveaway!

  63. I love to bake goodies! I just got done baking cupcakes! Tomorrow is my little one's THIRD birthday and she wanted to make cupcakes and deliver them to her friends...so, she helped me mix them, I baked them, tomorrow we will decorate them together and deliver them!! I also love to bake cookies...my favorites are the good old fashioned Nestle Chocolate Chip recipe and the Chewy Chocolate Ginger Cookies that I posted on my blog a few months ago: http://lettners.blogspot.com/2009/12/thursdays-recipe-rodeo_17.html

  64. Kitchen time is some of the best for family bonding. My son loves to cook and actually wants to be a chef. I can hardly keep him out of the food!

We are getting ready to bake some zucchini bread for my daughter who is currently deployed on a ship for the Navy. Last we heard she was down in Haiti helping with the crisis down there.

  65. I get in baking fits, which is appreciated by those around me but not my waistline. Which is still (ahem) recovering from having a baby. At least that's my story and I figure I have at least another year to use that excuse.

My favourite recipes are actually all online (http://recipes.phibian.com). Anyone who has read my blog's about page should be able to get past the password prompt, which became necessary after some moronic spambot decided to repeatedly edit the site so that chocolate cake ended up with beef brisket and garlic as ingredients. It was only funny the first time.

I could have taken away the edit feature but adding a password was a lot easier. So much to do, so little time!

  66. What the heck are you trying to do to me?! This is absolutely sinful -- and oh, so, yummy looking
:-) That mini-loaf rack is just the thing for me. I make banana bread almost every week. Yum!

  67. I love to make banana split cake... no recipe yet on my blog, have been super busy with work right now..but it is basically a white or yellow cake followed by layers of cream cheese/vanilla pudding mix, crushed pineapple, bananas, cool whip, maraschino cherry and nuts!

  68. I just stocked up on a new Wilton glass-bottomed cheesecake pan and some cake rounds (try to find those right before a holiday) but I love the idea of the smaller boxes. I think I may have to check out Wilton's web site later today!

  69. I've been looking all over for cute containers to put baked goods in, thanks for Wilton's website! They have all kinds of different types.

  70. Ooh those brownie boxes look great! That, and the mini loaf pans are great. I make bread for my dad every week, and it would be hilarious to give him a mini loaf as a joke!
In all seriousness though, I love making treats for my kids daycare teachers, and having them in those cute boxes that my daughter at least could decorate would be priceless!
No great recipe links though... most of what I make these days is from a box, unfortunately :(

  71. I love Wilton stuff! I also love making baked goods for gifts. I remember making sweet breads with my Mom for teacher's gifts when I was little. Always so much fun!

  72. never heard of Wilton- thanks for the tip! I love the cupcake boxes on their site... very cool. Thanks for this giveaway!

  73. I love to bake, and my neighbors will frequently see the kids coming over with paper plates of treats. I'd much prefer to have something cute to put them in. If I'm in the dumps and want something quick and sweet to eat, I love dump cake (dump one can crushed pineapple and one can cherry pie mix in a 9x13 pan. Dump a box cake mix on top. Drizzle with one cube butter, melted and bake at 350 for about an hour.) Sooo good, but sooo bad for you!

  74. Ever since I got a breadmaker, I've liked to give homemade bread to family and friends. Its fun to try different bread recipes.

  75. My girls and I am always baking. We just had a tea party wed with brownie hearts and two kinds of scones. We always bake something special when friends came over but I love the idea of the pretty packaging so you can give them as gifts.

  76. I love that you are doing this giveaway!! I was just stocking up at ACMoore and these would make perfect additions to my hobby!!

  77. My husband has to eat gluten-free foods and it's hard to get a decent cookie!! I make some chocolate chip cookies that are pretty good. I use the Nestle recipe on the bag, but I swap out my own complicated flour that's a mix of white rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, corn starch, and xanthan gum. It's complicated, but my husband loves it!! When I bring them in to work, no one knows they're gluten-free until after they're all gone!

  78. The blueberry zucchini bread looks so good. I have to try that recipe.

What fun ways to tell someone you care about them.

I have to check out the treat boxes now...

  79. My de-stresser used to be baking... it's a little more stressful now since I have a one year old. I look forward to baking with him when he is a little older.
This reminds me... I have a bunch of bananas in the freezer waiting to be made into banana bread. And a new mom waiting to be the unsuspecting recipient. :)

  80. I loved making bags of treats when my kids were in preschool. Now that they are both in classes hovering around 30 pupils, it's a little more than I'd like to take on for holidays.

  81. Wow...this is such a great idea to spice up someone's day. My daughter is turning one soon and I might just opt for one of these boxes as a birthday favor. I will be purchasing some for sure.

Thanks Stephanie for this great find. I hope you enjoy your baked product. I am not a baking kind of person, but you have just inspired me.

    Thanks....

  82. My favorite thing to bake is cookies. The type depends on what I'm hungry for: peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chip, or sugar cookies are my favorites to make and share. Sharing would be so much more fun with those cute treat boxes.

  83. I enjoy baking cupcakes:

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/saras-secrets/magnolias-vanilla-cupcake-recipe/index.html

or these mini chocolate chip pancake muffins:

    http://www.bakerella.com/mini-maple-pancake-muffins/

Both are delicious! The cupcakes are melt-in-your-mouth good! And the mini pancake muffins are a perfect breakfast treat. :)

By the way, if you've never made the cake pops from Bakerella you need to!! So cute! I made some for my sister-in-law's baby shower.

  84. How cute are these gift boxes and packages?! I have never thought about putting treats in these things but you've sold me. I'm ordering some!
