Do you enjoy creating art? If so, what kind of art-related gifts would you want to receive?
*** Every week or so, I feature creative gift ideas in specific categories. Let me know if you are having trouble finding a gift for someone in your life (example: Nurse, 16-year-old, Boss, etc) and I'll publish a list with you in mind.
My niece is 10 and loves to write and illustrate stories. For Christmas I want to get her some type of blank book so she can have all of her stories together. Do you know if there is such a thing as a sketchbook that is lined on one side of the page and blank on the other?
I also plan to include with this gift a variety of art media for her to try out--good quality colored pencils, pastels, charcoal, good quality pencils and anything else you can think of. I am sooo not an artist, but I did this for another niece when she was 10 and she loved trying out all the different things.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have for me :).
Also, I had no idea those pen tablet things existed. The second niece I mentioned up there is graduating from high school in the spring and that might make a fantastic grad gift. I'm gonna talk to her mom about it. Thank you!
Hi Crista!
While I was school supply shopping for our first year of school I found some blank story books - they looked like composition books but the pages were divided in half with the top portion for drawing and the bottom portion for writing. Similar to this: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/323692/Office-Depot-Brand-100percent-Recycled-Dual/ I didn't buy any because my little one isn't writing yet - but wanted to remember them for next year!
I remember loving oil pastel's - there is just so much you can do with them!
Thank you Jenn! Those look perfect!!
Crista - I love that you purchase thoughtful gifts for your niece. You are clearly a creative aunt.
Nice ideas! My son is constantly drawing and coloring. I've been wanting the copic markers for a while.
Those markers look outstanding, don't they? The price tag is high, but the reviewers seem confident that the added dollars equal added quality.
