ModBod: Solid-Colored Shirts, Super Prices

T-shirts are a staple in my wardrobe - especially solid-colored ones, preferably with a V or scoop neck. Every once in awhile, I get brave and try some "new-fangled" style of top, but I really love tees for their simplicity, their classic design, and their practicality.

That said, there's a BIG difference between tees that fit well and look good...and tees that are boxy, stretched out, or skintight.

Since I'm currently pregnant, the ModBod tees that I received for review don't exactly fit the way that they are meant to so I can't give you an accurate description of how they look. But I will tell you that the fabric appears to be "sturdy" (read: high-quality) and that the no-nonsense designs are exactly the kind of thing that most moms go for.

ModBod: Solid-Colored Shirts, Super Prices 1The ModBod Clothing Company is a "leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality modest apparel and accessories" with an emphasis on timeless styles and a variety of solid-colored tees (long-sleeve, short-sleeve, camisoles, v necks, hoodies, etc.). All the shirts range in price between $8.95-$24.95.

  1. I bought the modbod 2 pack of short sleeves (longer-length, ended up just above my elbows) and tank tops from Costco in Seattle and really love them. they are stretchy but don't ride up, nice and long to cover up my back when leaning over, etc. and not too thick for layering. Wish they had more costco events!

  2. I bought two shirts at Cosco and went back to get more and they were gone. I was very disapointed. I am hooked and want to get more!!!

  3. I like Lands End tee shirts. They are soft, comfortable and last a long time because
they are made of good cotton.I usually buy them
in their overstock section because they are
    cheaper there

  4. My favorite place to shop for tees is walmart. Basic styles, great prices. I have never tried anything from Modbod, but their stuff looks pretty cute!

  5. I like the tshirts at Tar-schey. Is that how you say it en francais? Anyway, I have never tried modbod, but it sounds great and the price is right.

  6. I am ALL about the tunic hoodie! Love it. I am definitely a t-shirt and jeans girl and finally just started embracing that fact within the last year. I realized sporty and casual CAN actually be sexy! I mostly shop at TJ Maxx to find lower-priced basic tees that will last a bit longer, and if I am lucky, have some style. Anyway, love your stuff.

  7. The Sonoma brand from Kohls tend to be my favorite. They wash and wear extremely well. I'd love to try these out! Thanks!

  8. I love to buy tshirts from the Gap and Old Navy...boring, huh?!? I hadn't even heard of ModBod until your review so I would love to win a tee to try. I'm loving the hooded tunic!

  9. My favorite T's are from j.crew and threadless.com, but I haven't tried Mod Bod. I have heard of the company and like the styles they have to offer. They look like styles I would get a lot of comfortable wear from, especially noting the post above that warned that trying these Ts may start an addiction. Thanks!

  10. I usually get my shirts from TJMaxx or Old Navy. It's all about budget for me. I think when I need a new shirt, though, I will try the ModBod because their stuff looks great, comfy, stylish, and seems to be priced well, too.

  12. i like vintage feeling tees, they're very breathable and comfortable, i usually get my tees anywhere i see something i like, but i really like Ross and thrift stores

  13. This is such a great giveaway. I usually shop for tee shirts at Macy's, Marshall's, or Kohl's because they have my sizes and I like the selection of clothes at those stores. I have never tried anything from The ModBod although I would really like to after seeing what they have available on the website. Once again this is a great giveaway. Thanks.

  14. I like the third t-shirt you feature. For me, I splurge on Banana Republic t-shirts. My office is casual, so I save a lot of money on dry cleaning, but I still want to look good. This would help! hint, hint... :)

  15. I have never worn ModBod, but would love to try it out! I mostly stick to solid tees and hand me downs from family members.

  16. Target is my favorite place to shop for tees. I have never tried anything from The ModBod; however I would love too.

  17. The place I usually shop for T-shirts is Old Navy, because they usually come in a lot of different colors and are usually pretty well priced.

  18. I enjoy the Mossimo shirts from Target as well. I have tried the ModBod shirts once and really liked them. I guess I just went for convenient when I bought my others. Thanks!

  19. I have never heard of these tees. They look nice though. My fave is the Perfect V in Deep red. I usually get most of my tees from a thrift shop.

  20. I've never heard of ModBod but looks like something my daughter would like! I buy most of her t-shirts at Hollister, American Eagle and Abercrombie & Fitch

  21. I've never heard of ModBod, but it looks to have some cute things! I shop for tshirts all over the place and don't really have a favorite store where I buy them.

  22. I am a lover of T-shirts as well, I really like either plain solid colored tees, or ones with very artistic designs that you won't find in most places. Threadless is one of my favorite places to get clothes from.

  23. I have heard of ModBod, but haven't tried them yet. I usually get my tees at Old Navy, but they only stay new looking for about a year. Would love to try the high quality tees from MB.

I haven't tried ModBod yet but I'd like to!

  28. Hi, I like the layered looks on their site. The lace edged shirts would look great under the plain edged tops. I buy tees from "Tees for Change" and at a few organic sites! Please enter me in your fun giveaway drawing. Thanks, Cindi

  29. cute!! I too love just plain old tees :) I usually hit old navy when they're on clearance & buy every color (along w/ extra blacks & whites, lol)

  30. I buy Tees from Limited Express, Target and Hot Topic and have never tried a ModBod item. I really like the Perfect Black Tee from this line and like it that long-sleeved Tees are included.

  31. My favorite place to shop for tees is Old Navy -- no muss, no fuss! Plus it's what I can afford on a student budget!
I've never tried the ModBod line but I would looovvveee to snuggle up in that tunic hoodie, how cute!

  32. I usually buy my tees at resale shops because I love wearing vintage screen print tees with cartoon characters. I can always find those used.

  33. I have worn Modbe shirts before, they are great! Love to wear the plain ones for layering, they spice up the outfit. Great giveaway! Thanks!

  34. Target most of the time, but I do like to stock up at Lands End or LL Bean when they have sales - they're just great quality!

  35. I don't have a favorite place that I shop for tees.
I just buy whatever I like at whatever store that I am in.

I have never bought from The ModBod, they are new to me.

  36. I usually buy tees from Hollister or american eagle..I've never heard of them but the tees look great!

  37. I shop tor tees at Kohl's, Marshall's, or JC Penney. I've never tried Mod Bod, but they do look nice, and I lke the cut of the neckline.

  38. You are showing me some great retailers for my type of clothes! Yea!! I love the long sleeve perfect T - I belive that was the name!

  39. I've never tried this company, but I appreciate a line of clothes that tries to keep people covered! I usually get t-shirts at Target or Old Navy.

  40. I am too much of a 'variety is the spice of life' gal to choose just one place to shop for anything! On the ModBod site, I did fall in love with the the Perfect Long Sleeve tshirt in black of course (I am a NYer) and I totally love the size ranges! :-)

  41. I like the tees from Victorias Secret. They are a bit pricey but fit well and don't lose their shape after washing.
I've never tried anything from The Mod Bod but after looking around their site I see they definitely carry my style.
    Great prices too.

  42. I don't buy that many tshirts, but when I do they are usually from forever 21 or H&M, their quality is pretty good for the basics.

  43. I have never seen the modbod before but my daughter wants one badly, she likes the aeropostle T shirts from aerospostle,me i just wear hand me downs

  45. I really don't have a particular place to shop for t's, and have never purchased a modbod shirt.
    Thanx for the contest.

  46. I usually get my t-shirts from Old Navy because they offer a variety of fits and they aren't too expensive. I haven't tried Mod Bod yet but they look like good quality, attractive shirts! Thanks for the contest!

  47. I don't have a particular place to buy tees, just go with what looks and feels best when I am in the mood. That isn't very often, since I hate to shop! Have never purchased from the Mod Bod, but looks as if I should investigate.

  48. I haven't ever tried anything from the ModBod, but after reading your review, I'm definitely interested in checking them out. My staples for tees are usually those from Gap (I'm especially liking that many, both scoop, v and crew neck no come in a little bit of a longer length) as well as Ann Taylor Loft.

  49. I've never shopped ModBod but I definitely may in the future.

I shop Goodwill and other similar stores for clothing.

  50. I prefer Old Navy usually. They're usually comfy and always look cute and I like to layer so it's just the place to go.

I love the shirts on ModBod.. it's great they're made to cover things up. I especially like the Cap Sleeve w/ Lace and the way it covers things up top and is a little longer so I don't have to worry about my stomach showing.

  51. I love to get tees from Victoria Secret. They are very well made and are usually only about $12. I've never tried anything from ModBod but it sounds like a great company. Thanks for the great contest!

  52. My favorite tees are the Perfect Fit tees from J. Crew. And you're right Stephanie, tees are staple in a mom's wardrobe. And paired with a well-fitted pair of jeans I think it looks quite nice. I'm interested in trying out ModBod. Thanks for the chance to win!

  53. I get my tees from target. They are cheap and fit well. Otherwise I get them from the gap. I love my tees. I have not tried Modbod but would like to!

  54. Right now I'm on a tight budget so I'm limited to tees on the clearance aisle and in the thrift shops but Aeropostale and American Eagle make great tees that are thin and comfy without showing off my bra to the world.

  55. I have never tried Modbod before, but I will now!

I usually look for something with a good quality, so it doesn't get all stretchy in the middle and end up looking like a box at the end of the day or after a wash or two. I have found a few at Kohl's and some at the Gap but only on sale there! No one particular store for me, I would love to find it though, cause I am not an avid shopper!

    thanks for the chance!

  56. I like tees from the gap, but it's expensive...I haven't tried anything from ModBod, but the tunic hoodie looks nice!

  57. Being a larger sized woman, I like to shop at CJ Banks for my t-shirts. I was pleased to see that ModBod does have larger sizes...very cool! I agree that t-shirts of good quality are hard to find!

  58. I usually like the Gap shirts. I like the feel of their fabric and the cut suites me well. Never heard of ModBod...thanks for sharing! I love the tunic hoodie!

  59. I have been getting a lot of use out of my American Eagle Outfitters t-shirts. But the tunic hoodie shown is soooo cute...and good for the cooling weather.

  60. I basically shop for tees where ever there are sales. I usually don't get out shopping much so I don't have a favorite place to shop. I have never bought from ModBod before but there stuff looks cute and the prices are great.

  61. I haven't had the money to shop for new clothes in so long, I've forgotten where I like to shop! I really like Kohl's and Ross! Never bought from ModBod before. Hopefully I'll be able to shop again soon, though, cuz these shirts look great! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  62. I never tried ModBod but the prices look very good and I like the way the clothing is displayed on real people in casual settings.

  63. I like the Butterfly Tee, but I also like the Cotton Candy Jacket. Usually I just buy whatever's on clearance at Aeropostale.

  64. I really like that Butterfly Tee. I don't typically buy tees but I do buy a lot from New York Co. If you get the stuff on sale it can't be beat. I love it. Thanks.

  65. I really like the Tees from Express or The Limited (I like Tees that are still girly). I've actually never heard of ModBod but it looks awesome! The Perfect Camisole with Lace is cute!

  66. I LOVE the ModBod clothing. I have nearly everything they sell. They are much better quality than all of the other shirts I have tried. I have had many of their shirts for over 3 years and they still look new! They also have EXCELLENT customer service, I ordered the wrong size once and they took it back and exchanged it with no hassle. I would highly recommended to everyone to try one of their shirts.....WARNING YOU MAY GET HOOKED!!!

  67. These look really nice... although I wish the had a model with a fuller figure. It's hard to tell how a L/XL will fit like compared to a Small on a model. I really love a basic t-shirt in a variety of colors, though. So far, my favorite T's have been Mossimo from Target - but I've had some of their seam serging come undone in less than a year. Old Navy has been awful for fit in my size. If it's big enough not to cling embarrassingly to my "rolls", the arm holes are much too monstrous.

  68. I'm a Target girl when it comes to t-shirts. I haven't tried ModBod, but they look really nice. T-shirts are definitely a staple in my wardrobe too.

  69. I've never tried ModBod before. My favorite are t-shirts from Shade Clothing. They're comfortable, inexpensive, and come in several different styles. But my favorite feature is that they're all long enough to cover my belly (and back), even when I'm chasing after my toddler in my most comfortable low-slung jeans.

  70. Right now -- maternity tees from Down East Basics. Wonderfully long, great colors, and cheap.
Sadly, they only come in a cap sleeve.

  71. I haven't tried them, but I am in love with American Apparel!

I live in jeans and t-shirts. I would like to expend that one day, but for now it's what works best!

    Cute stuff! Thanks :)

  72. I like the Mossimo brand t-shirts from Target. They're inexpensive but well-made, and I think they fit me well. I haven't tried ModBod yet (I haven't even heard of them until now), but I'd love to! That tunic hoodie looks really cute. Thanks!
