One-of-a-Kind Tees for One-of-a-Kind Kids

I'm not a snob when it comes to my daughter's clothing (she's only 2, after all). I buy clearance tees at Target for $2.99 and accept hand-me-downs without hesitation. I don't mind the absence of Juicy Couture and Tommy Hilfiger in her dresser drawers.

That said, I DO appreciate well-made items (sturdy enough to withstand running, jumping, stretching, spilling, staining, and sidewalk chalking) and I absolutely am a fan of one-of-a-kind items. Circo tees have their place, but handmade tees are something extra special.

One-of-a-Kind Tees for One-of-a-Kind Kids 1We recently had an opportunity to try out a custom-made tee from 4 Little Fish, a mom-owned company based in MA...and these tees are CUTE (way cuter, in fact, than the pictures on the website make them look). These are spunky, fun, and chic tees embroidered with fabric, buttons, and other decorations to fit your child's interest. Choose between mermaids or sailboats, lollipops or ice cream cones, robots or aliens, rockets or pick-up trucks...and more!

After much deliberating, I selected a short-sleeve brown tee with a school bus applique on the front. And it is darling - definitely one of my favorite tees in my daughter's collection! I love it not only for its adorableness, but also because the shirt is so well-made...no cheapy fabrics here! The tee has retained its shape wash after wash.

4 Little Fish tees range in size from 3-6 months up to a youth size 12, and cost between $34-38.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a 4 Little Fish tee of his/her choice. To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Monday, October 6 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #12 Beth G. Congratulations!

  1. Wow, the shirts are super creative and very cute. I love the boys pirate shirt, the robot shirt and the girls crab shirt. She is very talented. Love the look.

  2. My daughters were torn between the sparkly tropical fish and the sparkly butterfly, wonderful designs!

  3. It's hard but I think I would go with the long-sleeved pin wheel t-shirt for my daughter. It would be adorable on here.

  4. I love the idea of my son having his own favorite items. This looks like it could be one of his favorites. Great idea.

  5. I love them all but being a country girl, I think I like the one with the barn and silo best for my little boys!

  6. I agree, the website pictures need a little improvement! However, the tshirts do look super cute and I think I would choose the ice cream cone shirt for my daughter as she LOVES ice cream! m_huston(at)hotmail(dot)com

  7. WOW...they're all sooooo cute! Its hard to pick just one..i see why you had a problem! I'd probably go with the big rig truck..oh or the tractor...hmm..i'd go with the truck! My little man is into everything VROOM these days!! Thanks for the chance!

  8. I love the little tractor one..is that not completely adorable??? My son is so into tractors righ tnow with his g/pa being a farmer and he's been freakin' out because he gets to ride the combine. We'd love to win this. Thanks. =)

  9. Wow, here I was shopping for a unique gift for the birthday of a unique young lad (size 10) who's going to have himself a pirate themed party---and. lucky-lucky me, I bump into 4 LITTLE FISHES who just happen to have long sleeved Skull & Crossbones designed tees! Can't get any better than this!!

  10. How original! I would love to let my little guy choose his own new shirt to replace his current favorite shirt... you know, the one that is way too small that he refuses to let me get rid of...

  11. I'm so tired of trying to buy t-shirts for my son at Kohls or Target that don't all have basketballs or footballs on them - 4 LIttle Fish seems like it has fresh and new ideas!

  12. These look adorable! My son would also love the school bus t-shirt. He loves pointing out school buses whether they be in our neighborhood or while we're in the car. Thanks for sharing this site and thanks for the chance to win!

  13. Lots of cute designs! With a 3rd baby boy on the way, I'm definitely into both affordable clothing AND long-lasting. My favorite is to find great brands on super-clearance, or 2nd hand. That way I get both high-qualtiy and good price! But a special "custom" tee would be a fun way to greet baby boy #3 :)

  14. I like the tractor T shirt. Nana and Gramps live on a farm and I'm sure they'd love to see their grandson in a tractor T shirt.

  15. I am so glad you are back I have really missed you blogging. I am also glad you are feeling better. I visted the website and I love the brown onies with a pinwheel on it. When I buy clothes I want them to last for 2 kids and still be able to give them away. I wish I could say I visit target as well but the closest one is over an hour away!

  16. The robot shirt is really cute, both my kids would love them! I wish her site had a little bit better photos on them, the shirts are too cute, but the images are a little fuzzy..

  17. I can see why it took some deliberation to choose a design for your daughter! They are all very cute. I especially liked the tractor for a boy...the "model" was wearing it on a red shirt...striking!

  18. Stephanie,

I'd have to do the skull and cross-bones...my nephew would love that! Too cute. I agree with you about the Target thing, though. They grow so fast that it's hard to justify spending a lot of money on clothes. :)

By the way, I'm launching something called "My One Month" over at my blog today. I'd love for you to stop by and check it out if you have time.

  19. If I won, I'd get the long-sleeve Turtle Tee in size 4T for my daughter, whose nickname is Turtle. It was in the boy's section, but I think that it would be fine for a girl.

  20. I like the "4 little fish" Tractor tee in 3T. My lil man is a farmer in the making. He picked his first ear of corn last night at papaws. Thanks.

  21. With 2 boys and a baby on the way, it is very important that the clothes I purchase for them last. I really like the s'mores kid t-shirt because we love camping and it is gender neutral. Thanks for sharing with us and welcome back!!!

  22. I love these! Positively adorable. I agree, handmade is best - - there's no others like it! Love the girls' Windmill tee.

  23. The patterns on these shirts are nicely done and it's good to know they're well made. I really like the whale with little fish pattern in both the boys' and the girls' style.

  24. Ok, those were all cute. I really like the shark one though, William is way into sharks lately. Target is definitely where most of our clothes come from though, it is just so convenient.

  25. Target is definitely one of my favorites because of the affordability, but you're right; these are way cuter! I love that you can give us these reviews, because these days clothes are often so cheaply made with thin materials and poor stitching that I'm wary to buy anything online. Thanks!
