Out with the old, In with the new

The blogosphere is pretty quiet tonight (do you hear it?...that's the sweet sound of silence online as people spend their days sipping cocoa, taking walks, cooking, laughing, lingering, working around the house, and doing family things).

I certainly have been offline a lot the past few days.

Today, for example, we had a leisurely family morning. We went through presents (so many presents!). I played Memory with my 3-year-old as her baby sister crawled around trying to grab the cards and be a part of the game. Tim is making a pretty stinkin' awesome sandbox in the backyard so he worked on that a lot. We ate Enchiladas for lunch. I went on a 2-mile run and started organizing our craft supplies. More playing and laundry and picking up and getting out again. Then, dinner and bathtime and books and sleep for the girls. And we were so busy just "being" that I didn't even take one picture!

Out with the old, In with the new 1And, now the house is quiet - so I just spent a long time cleaning up my RSS box. It needed to be done. It was a colossal task. I deleted blogs and added blogs and...I also updated my FAVORITES page.

Remember - my favorites are exactly that. My current inspirations. The blogs that make my heart pitter-patter just a bit when I see a new post pop up. Go check 'em about. Stop by and say hi. I bet you'll find one or ten that you like.

YOUR TURN: What are your favorite reads these days?

  1. I know I've contributed to the silence over the past couple of weeks - I didn't mean to, but life just was more important and didn't leave time for blogging. Now that we're home from visiting family and the holidays are over we'll see how my blog develops in the next year!

  2. :) Being considered one of your favorites makes my day! You are definitely one of my favorites. And, there are quite a few on your list that I always look forward to reading. A few others that I am pretty smitten with are:

I'd love it if you would do a post on that sandbox your hubby is making. My fiance wants to make one for Levi, and I'm looking for ideas and inspiration.

Glad y'all had a wonderful Christmas!

  3. Merry Christmas. The quiet is nice, isn't it? It's good to have little glimpses of it now and then. Your day today sounds like it was perfect. If we ever get a chance to meet someday, let's go for a little run together.

And I have to say, I popped over to check out your favorites, and was totally flattered to be there. Thanks.

  4. Actually, we have many favorites in common. I enjoy reading a lot and I have some favorite book blogs!
    J.Kaye Book Blog and lesasbookcritiques.blogspot.
com are two of my favorites. Thanks for sharing your favorites. Cindi

  5. Have I mentioned how awesome you are recently? Yeah, that.

I've noticed the blogospheric silence too. It's a little creepy. I'm used to much more chatter :-)

  6. Merry Christmas (or a few days after) to you!! I love the picture you have on this post! When I went to Austria with my husband a few years ago I stood in a field and twirled around singing 'the hills are alive'. He wouldn't join me. I suppose he didn't see the need since he grew up in the alps! :-)

As far as favorite reads go, without sounding completely cheesy, yours of course! I also have been enjoying the NieNie Dialogues. I don't read too many blogs of people I don't know, but you have turned me on to some, like Casual Friday Everyday. I have poked around her site a bit. She seems pretty fabulous. I love peeking in on the lives of my friends and making new ones too!

  7. I'm enjoying health related blogs right now. Especially gluten free blogs.

Some of my current favorites that have me drooling:

    http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com/
    http://www.elanaspantry.com/
    http://glutenfreemommy.com/
    http://iamglutenfree.blogspot.com/
    http://www.jensglutenfreeblog.com/

I'm so happy to have discovered the gluten free diet, because it'll help my family transition out of the Candida diet, but still maintain our healing.

    Nell
