PhotoStamps: Too Cute to Use

photo stamps logoWe gave our parents and grandparents photo stamps for Christmas this year, along with our annual family photo card. They were a big hit and produced many "oohs" and "ahhs."

In fact, my grandparents e-mailed me this afternoon to say "thank you" and they noted how precious the stamps are. But they pointed out that there is one small "problem" with the stamps - they're just way too cute to use!!!

That's the one problem with PhotoStamps. You'll order them and then you'll want to keep them. And then the price of postage will go up and all that cuteness will go unused and unremembered in one of your office drawers...

photo stampsSo, here's what I recommend. Order stamps with a particular "purpose" in mind.

Thank you notes or invitations are ideal. For example, use them on thank-you notes after your child's birthday party. Or create a stamp for invitations to your parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. Or put them on baby announcements.

So many options, so much cuteness just waiting to be added to your envelopes...

WIN IT! One winner will receive a sheet of 20 PhotoStamps ($18.99). To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Tuesday, January 20 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #22 Kelly Ann T. Congratulations!

  1. I think your suggestion for using personalized stamps with a specific purpose in mind is a great idea. I would definitely remember to use this cute prize!

  2. I would love to win a sheet of PhotoStamps. I love how unique they are. I would love to use a picture of my cat on a sheet of PhotoStamps. I think it would be so cool if I could use a stamp of my cat when I send out mail. This is a great giveaway. Thanks.

  3. Photo stamps are extra finishing touches that makes any envelope special, would love to add some to my Valentine's Day cards

  4. My husband and I discussed this. I knew I did not want to use them to pay bills. But we did not know what to use them for. He said we would use them for holiday celebrations.

  5. What a great contest! I've heard about Photostamps and have never treated myself to them but if I did, I would love to make some with a picture of my darling kitty, Raina!

  6. I've been wanting to try these forever, but couldn't justify the $19 for them!! These would be awesome to win!

Thanks for offering this awesome giveaway!

  7. I'd love to get ones of the family or just the kids for thank you notes, etc. It would be great for family and friends we haven't seen in a while.

  8. I have used PhotoStamps a few times and LOVE them. I have given them away as gifts as well. I used them for Announements and thank you's, birthday cards and party invitations. I meant to keep one of each photo set for the baby book and I forgot one and used them all up! Then my MIL sent us something and used one and I was able to take it off the envelope for the baby book! Often times, they are hand stamped so the photo still looks good. They are so much fun and worth the extra postage (Just not for paying bills!) Thanks for the opportunity to win something personalized yet practical and fun!

  9. I would use these to mail cards and letters to Grandparents and Parents, and put a picture of my three boys on them. It would be a nice way to let them see the kids as they grow up.

  10. Photo stamps are a cute way to keep out of town family up to date. Not everyone uses a computer and many of my photos are only digital now. It's a good way to send a current shot of the great grandchildren with little extra effort.

  11. These are the cutest! I've always wanted to get some, but never wanted to spend so much on postage. Thanks for such an awesome giveaway!

  12. i have been thinkiing about getting these as gifts for the grandmas...they would look so cute with my kiddo's faces!

  13. This would please my mom and grandparents who do not know how to use internet. They still write letters and postcards in "traditional" way. They will love these stamps!

  14. We will be having a 60th birthday party for my mom, and this would be great!! Hope to win it!! What a cute idea.

  15. I love the idea of putting my kids' pictures on the stamps.
Your comments about hating to use them up reminded me of a scene from the movie "Brewster's Millions". He inherited a bunch of money, but first he had to spend a bunch--with nothing to show for it. So one thing he did was buy a very expensive--very rare--stamp and put it on a postcard and mailed it. Making it no longer valuable.

  16. I think these are a great idea but I would hate to throw them away! I bet the post office would have a hard time putting the post mark over them too! :) Thank you for the opportunity!

  17. Thanks for the tip a few weeks ago on getting 1 free photo stamp - I got mine of LUCY just a week ago & I LOVE it. I want to order a bunch for her 1st b-day invites for family.

  18. These stamps would be a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion such as a birthday, graduation, sweet 16, or anniversary. I would use them to commemorate my hubby's upcoming birthday. Thanks for the giveaway.

  19. I almost bought these as Christmas gifts, too! I would love some to use on baby announcements that we will be sending soon when my first niece/nephew is born. Great giveaway!

  20. I have the perfect picture to use for these awesome stamps, my son's first soccer game photo I have will be great!

  21. We did some photo stamps this past Christmas for our cards and all the family absolutely loved them. It just makes it a little more personalized and special.

  22. My wife always likes to personalize letters with address labels. This will make it even more detailed. Thanks for the chance to surprise her with our childrens' photos.

  23. I like your suggestion. I never thought of it, but these would be great for sending out my daughters graduation announcements! Thank you.

  24. I think these are a really fun idea! I think they would be especially fun for Christmas cards, announcements and invitations. I'd love to try them.

Thank you for the great giveaway!

  25. I have never used photostamps before but after seeing your site, i would love to have them now! Thanks for a great giveaway :)

  26. I never used photo stamps before but I'd love to put some on my son's birth announcements when I send them out in about 2 weeks!

  27. I've received some Xmas cards with photostamps and saved the stamps because they were so sweet! I would love to use this service for mailing out my daughter's birthday invitations for her upcoming party!

Thanks! foxsquirrelrabbit at gmail dot com

  28. I have not yet used photostamps, but they always looks so precious. I think it is partly because I have so many kids and none of them are ever close enough in a pic to make that small. However, I am going to find a solution and try these yet!!! Thanks for sharing these with us!

  29. With my son away in college, I'm feeling nostalgic and I'd love to have a stamp of one of his adorable baby photos.

  30. I had actually considered doing this with a picture I have on a wall in my hallway. My daughter [then age 18 months] is sitting in a pretty blue dress, playing with a pair of red heals with a white pearl necklace around her neck. I was thinking of using the stamps to keep the ex-in-laws off my back. They insist on new pictures all the time! I ignore them all! These would be new and I wouldn't have to show them what she really looks like now at age 15!

  31. Photo Stamps are so unique! I would love to get some with my dogs on them....my friends and family would love to see them panting back at them from the front of an envelope. What a cute idea!

  32. These are just too cute! I've seen others use them. I would really have a hard time sending any mail out with the pix stamps...I would want to keep them all for myself.

  33. My wife always makes custom birthday party invitations for the boys parties. Her hobby is taking photos. These stamps would look really cool on the envelopes.

  34. I don't know if I could use these! I think I could! So perfectly fun and personal. I frequently mail cards and letters to my niece. I think a stamp with her picture on each mailing would thrill her.

  35. I'd love to have some made with my daughter's picture. They'd be great to mail out her birthday party invites with.

  36. I agree-I think grandparents would enjoy saving one stamp stuck on the envelope with a great matching card inside! These would be so fun to send out to people on holiday cards, or even on thank you's for gifts received (and no, I still haven't sent mine out yet).

  37. I'd get a photo with my three kids. I acutally bought some of these kind of stamps a few years ago and everyone LOVED them. I think I still have a few of course the price of stamps has gone up since then, he he.

  38. I would put a picture of me and my boyfriend. He is away at school and i think a letter with a personalized stamp will make his day.

  39. This would be great to win! I would put a piture of my daughter on the stamps and use them for when I send stuff to the grandparents- they would love it!
    thanks

  40. I always love an opportunity to put up a picture of my two little ones. I think is such a great idea and I would use it when sending letters and cards to friends and family. I'm sure they'd love it too!

  41. I love photostamps and I've been wanting to try them! I'd love to use them for birthday invitations or Christmas cards.

  42. I got these to use on my Christmas cards! I put a picture of my son on it. It looked adorable. A lot of my family members commented on it. They come out really cute.

  43. Those look awesome! It would be tough to use them, though! We will have to try some for the kids' birthday party in June (yes, singular party - they were all 3 born in June, and yes, my wife and I do now stay away from each other in September!).

  44. You know...I've been teetering on the edge many-a-time about getting these and I've never took the plunge. They are such a cute idea and you're right...get them with a purpose in mind and then they'll get used!!

  45. These are really cute, would love to put my kittehs on them & send them off

    Happy New Year!

    Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<

  46. I would love to win this so I could make up a stamp with the new grandbabies pic and then use them on the birth announcements we mail out. Thank You!

  47. My parents 50th wedding anniversary is coming. It would have never occured to me to use photo stamps for the invitations, but I'm going to do just that. Thanks for the tip!

  48. I would love to win this. I have the cutest pic of my hubby and his brother when they were kids and I would love to use that as a stamp.

    Thanks for a great giveaway.

  49. How fun. I would love to do this with a picture of my kids and use the stamps to send pictures they drew to the grandparents.

  50. This would be great for personalising my envelopes. I really love the idea to have unique stamps with your picture on it. I'm actually a teen and I usually write letters and send it to my friends here and abroad and I know that they will not only keep the letter but also treasure the envelope as well.

  51. Photo stamps would be a wonderful gift for anyone. I will have to keep them in mind for my next "hard to buy for" friend or family member but in the meantime I would love to win these for myself!

  52. I love the idea of these. They would extra cute for birth announcements, christmas cards or wedding invitations. I would use mine for birthday and thank you cards. Thanks so much!

  53. What a fantastic and wonderful idea!!! I can just imagine all the different pictures on these stamps!! Thank you for the contest!

  54. Oh, wow. We have a cat adoption campaign going. I was able to get the cats spayed and neutered for free, thanks to a generous donation. Using these stamps would give great additional marketing!

  55. I have been waiting to try the photo stamps, putting it off till I find an excuse. I would probably send half of them to myself! I am a grandmother and would love to use a stamp of us on mail to the grandkids!

  56. I have always thought what a cute idea this is. Maybe I would send more notes to my relatives if I had these so they could see my little girl.

  57. I can totally understand how they would be too cute to use! I might use a couple to send to the grands, but that's it! Thanks!

  58. I like that you don't have to be dead to be on a stamp these days. I'm curious if I could use an illustration or graphically manipulated digital image.

  59. I have entered so many similar giveaways but have never won any. I am so looking forward to have my little one on the stamps. may be for next Xmas!
    thanks

  60. I have seen these many times and thought they were a great idea. I would love to win them for my niece who is getting married this spring.

  61. My cousin used these on her baby announcements, they are so cute! I know we're thinking about getting them for our wedding invitations...

    autumn398 (at) yahoo.com

  62. This is the first I heard of these. I love them! The uses are endless but I think I would start with a photo of my daughter and her fiance' for thank you cards of the bridal shower.
    jeanilynne at gmail dot com

  63. These would be the perfect finishing touch on the adoption announcements that we'll be sending out soon. Our baby boy was born at 4:37 this morning!

  64. i think you've come up with some super ideas for uses, we took a special x-mas pic and used that as a stamp for our cards this year

  65. This would be awesome for my brother and his wife who are new parents. It's so cool the USPS allows this type of product.

  66. I have a friend who used these on her wedding thank you notes...so cool! I think I would have a hard time using them, too! I would want to make sure the person receiving it would notice!! :) Thanks so much!

  67. I would definitely love these! I always send out cards and letters. Instead of printing and sending out photos with the letters, I can use stamps instead!

  68. This is such a great idea, and a fun way to show off my adorable children!! I'd have to keep a few though(some for scrapbooking for sure!).

  69. I have seen these stamps before & love them. I'd want a photo of my hubby & I the day he deployed, or a photo of my two cats, Taji & Bella (but will this make me seem like a crazy cat lady?) haha.

  70. These are really precious and I would love to win them for my daughter's birthday thank you cards! A friend of mine used these for wedding invites...unforgettable, but pricey, I'm sure!

  71. I got some of these as a gift for Blondie's first birthday, and then I used them on her second birthday invitations. You're right; they were almost too cute to use! I just received a wedding invitation with cute photo stamps, too. I love them!

  72. My wife got me a set of these a couple years ago, and I loved them, and used them. As far as postal rate increases are concerned, just buy a few stamps (the difference between the old and new rates) and put them alongside the photostamp!

  73. These are the coolest things especially if you give them as a present.
    That's what I'd do,
because I never send out mail anymore.

  74. I would love to use these on my son's birthday party invitations. I think that would be so cute and a great way to personalize the invitation.

  75. I would really love to win this. What a great treat this would be for sending cards to family. Thanks for this giveaway.

  76. Ditto...(I've always wanted to try them & I would only use them for personal correspondence.) Thanks for the giveaway!

  77. I would put make stamps using a photo of our foster dog and mail them out on our fundraising invitations. Thank you

  78. Very cute idea, I would love to use these to send out valentines day cards to famliy we dont get to see a whole lot!

  79. I've seen these before and think they look like a great idea. We haven't tried them yet, but I'd love to see J's cute little face on the stamps for things we send to grandparents and friends. Thanks for the chance to enter!

  80. These are very cute. I know that my parents and parents in law would love them.

I never know what to get my father in law for Christmas. This year I made a photo calender of the girls for my Grandmother in law who is getting old and we hardly every see her. The calender came out so great I ordered one for my father in law and he LOVED it. Now I know what to get him next year.

  81. A Great suggestion to use with a specific purpose in mind. I've seen these as well and thought the same thing:~Too cute to use.

  82. I agree they have to be intended for a specific mailing. I could never send off a mortgage patment with one of these adorable stamps! We got some for a friend as a thank you gift and she seemed to love them :)

  83. You are right - these are too cute to use but Valentine's Day cards would be a good excuse to use some and save the rest, if I win

  84. I love using photostamps- have ordered them for weddings, graduation, and all sorts of fun summer and fall themes- its neat to send them and yes they are hard to let go of but indeed fun to share

  85. My mom had photo stamps made of my cousin's wedding last year and gave them to him for Christmas. I hear they went over really well. I had thought about having some made of my kids, but it seems like an unnecessary expense right now. If I can get them for free though, then it's totally worth it!!!

  86. Hey I might actually get the dreaded thank you notes out if I used these. What fun! I agree on the useage thing, nobody in my family would stick them on anything.
