Pow! Bam! Take That...and That!

batman_powSometimes a mama's gotta stand up and fight.

Against germs, that is.

If you know me in real life, you know that I am not a huge fan of crowded places like movie theaters and malls and hospitals. I will go to those places - don't get me wrong - I just don't like all of the germs (and potentially scary people) that abound in heavily-populated places.

To help combat the "yuckies" when I'm out-and-about, I like the idea of the Clean and Green Germ Defense collection of products by Classy Kid Inc.

  • Keep Me Tidy Diaper Sacks (great for disposing of stinky diapers on-the-go; $3.97 for a pack of 75)
  • Keep Me Healthy Potty Protectors (oversized so that kids can "hold on"; $4.99 for a pack of 10)
  • Keep Me Clean Changing Table Covers (public changing tables are Disgusting with a capital "D"; $4.97 for a pack of 8 )
  • Keep Me Coloring Placemats (protect your child's eating surface, plus give them something to do while they're waiting for the food to arrive; $9.99 for a pack of 20)

classy kid inc logoThe products are disposable and biodegradable ("breaks down in months, not decades"), thus making them "Earth Friendlier."

I love that the company says "Earth Friendlier" and not "Earth Friendly." After all, disposable products aren't exactly "green." That said, sometimes these kind of products do come in handy and - if I'm going to use them every once in awhile - I would rather use products that are better for the earth, wouldn't you?

WIN IT! One winner will receive one pack of each of the above-mentioned products by Classy Kid Inc. To enter, leave any topic-related comment on this post prior to Tuesday, April 28 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.).

*UPDATE* The winner is #56 Kelly F. Congratulations!

  1. The Keep Me Healthy Potty Protectors would be great to have, Im potty training my son and thinking about him going to public restrooms grosses me out, Thanks :)

  2. I would love to have the potty protecters. Every time we have to use the potty away from home I freak out. I keeping wondering who else has sat there. thanks

  3. These would be great, it seems like no matter where we go, my daughter has to use the bathroom, and most of them are usually disgusting. Or they dont have anything to go on the seats! Thanks for the chance!!

  4. I absolutely love that the potty protectors are so large. So many liners are tiny and shift around so much that they aren't much help at all. These ones are great.

  5. I am a germ freak too!! POtty protectors would be great! The disposable placemats would be great too!!

  6. I know every mom out there has a diaper bag that weighs a ton, I like that these are disposable so it doesn't go back into the bag!

  7. These all look fabulous. Im a germ freak too, I wipe down carts, tables, etc. whenever we are out. After my son had an awful bout of cellulitis that they though was a strand of mrsa, Im even worse. I too, dislike crowded places.

  8. I'm going to have to stock up on these items once my son is older. These would be awesome when take road trips to NY...rest stops are so gross.

  9. This would be great for my friend who is expecting. She could use the practical diapering items for the baby and her older child could color the placemats.

  10. I have never used Classy Kid products,
but I have heard so many great things about the Company and the products they offer. Thank you for the chance.

  11. I like the idea of the potty protectors, it's really difficult to have a potty-learning toddler not touch the entire toilet in a public restroom. Especially with twins.

  12. Good point about "earth friendlier"! I truly appreciate the honesty. These products really would be a help in situations on the go.

  13. these are great products-I like the Potty Protectors - big enough so they will not touch the toilet

  14. I love, love love the potty protectors. I'm potty training my son now and he's pretty good at home but whenever we go out I put a diaper on him because I don't want him sitting on a public toilet.

  15. I'd love to try the potty protectors. These would be great when my son is finally potty trained. I also love that they are biodegradeable.

  16. The products do sound kind of cool but superfluous, I mean, I don't want to sound like a bad mother but people who are germ freaks kind of freak me out. My friends wife just had a baby and they bought a steralizer and everything and were boiling everything. My 1 year old touched one of their baby's toys and they had to put it in the machine to steralize it? I just think that is crazy, kids need to be exposed to germs to make antibodies. I don't know I guess I don't think they are going to catch a deadly disease by sitting on a toilet or getting their but changed on a changing table in a store. It is not like I go out of my way to use these things but if the need arises I will. I mean obviously if the toilet or changing table is smeared in feces I'll pass to the next one but usually public bathrooms are fairly clean, I have only run into a few that weren't so great but still nothing to worry about. The food mats seem weird because most food places have their own little mats they give kids with crayons and stuff. I don't know all this stuff seems fairly situational unless you are obsessive compulsive about germs. I mean if i got these i might use a few of each and have leftover for my grandkids. I can see moms buying these because they sound cool and useful and then having them sit around. I wouldn't mind trying them out if I won though to see if I am wrong, maybe they would come in handy more than I think. I am more the kind of mom to tell my kid if something falls on the floor, quick! pick it up 5 second rule!

  17. These products sound great. I'm all for knocking out germs whenever possible. Please count me in. Thanks!!

  18. Very cool ideas, I wonder if they are all available in local shops. It is so hard, you want to encourage the kiddos to be mobile and learn, but you never want them touching stuff! :)

  19. Public changing tables are just totally gross in my book so I opt to change my kids in the car if it is an option. But for those times when you just have to change them in a public area, disposable changing mats are a must!

Diaper sacks are also a must in my book. I always keep a few in my diaper bag so when I am at a friend's house or even just changing a diaper in the car, the smell and mess is contained until I can throw it away properly.

  20. We will be needing those potty protectors soon, sadly...i'd like to never have to face the public restroom with a toddler, but assume it is inevitable!

  21. Im excited about the diaper sacks as we put all dirty diapers in the garage and spring is coming- it wont smell so sweet out there while we wait for garbage day

  22. I dread when we're out in public, and I hear "I have to go potty. It's any wonder how she can hold it in while I clean off the toilet and line it with layers of toilet paper. Hand sanitizer comes in handy for cleaning off the toilet.

  23. Keep me tidy diaper sacks would really come in handy...diapers can get really smelly and we have been using the cloth diapers to save on money and thoes things can get smelly at times.

  24. These are really fantastic products. My daughter could really use this to keep germs at bay for my grandkids. Thank you so much!

  25. We will be on-the-go BIG TIME from June 15th through August 3rd, and I can only imagine how these products, esp. the changing pad covers and place mats, would make my life SO much easier!

  26. What an awesome giveaway! We are always on the go and all of these products would be a wonderful help.

  27. I am a germ freak myself. This parenting gig has just increased my freakatude (there's another Jinxyism for you :) ).
I love the place mat idea.

  28. I love disposable placemats for my kids. Whenever I don't have one I cringe. The potty ones sounds amazing. I would love to have this my family on the run!!

  29. As a teacher, surrounded by germy kids all day, I get a bit obsessive about germs and staying clean. These products sound great! Thanks!

  30. I like the slogan "friendlier" rather than friendly. I have not heard of this company but when I visited their website, I was quite impressed. They make genuine stuff.thanks

  31. All these products sound really awesome. We are expecting a boy in 7 months. Any of these items would really help.

  32. I LOVE Classy Kid and these are a STAPLE in our household....germs are EVERYWHERE! UGH!
Funny enough, I saw their table covers at a restaurant in San Diego....Cafe 222....I wanted to email them but I couldn't find a contact number/address....
I thought it was really ingenious of them to get into a restaurant...it even came with a wipe and crayons.....

  33. These are definitely products that I like to have in my bag when we're out and about. Germies are really just freaky - especially in public restrooms, and those changing tables - ick. I'd rather change the baby on my lap in the car than use some of the changing tables I've seen in public restrooms.

  34. The diaper sacks would definitely be used. We go out a lot to metal detect and to the park and are always looking for a bag for the dirty diapers. Thanks for the chance.

  35. Cool! I've never heard of this company but it's a great concept. I especially like the idea of the toilet seat covers now that we've entered the potty-training stage. I've contemplated carrying around our seat topper wherever we go just in case! ;)

  36. Those potty protectors sound awesome. I had a gross out experience where my niece put her hands all over a toilet at a public pool!! UGH!! These are a must!

  37. We're in the very early stages of potty training our daughter, so we haven't had to deal with public toilets yet. But I dread that day. These potty protectors look like a life saver.
