Protecting Your Mattress from Baby Stains and Smells

Protecting Your Mattress from Baby Stains and Smells 1If you have a baby or toddler who co-sleeps with you for part or all of the night, then you are probably very familiar with this scenario.

Beginning of the night:
Snuggles, Sweetness, Sleeping...

YOU: Uh-oh. (Groggy, sitting up quickly)
HUSBAND: What? What is it? (looks down) Oh no! Not again!
YOU: (pulling the sheets off quickly)
HUSBAND: (running for towels and cleaner)

Middle of the night or wee early morning hours: Unmade bed and no place to sleep.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even if your baby sleeps in a crib or on a mattress on the floor or in a toddler bed, no parent is immune to pee, vomit, poop, and burps during those first few years.

Fortunately, there is one solution to this dilemma that will seriously bring down the stress level in your home: Protect-A-Bed mattress covers. Protect-A-Bed is "the very first ultra thin mattress protector." Not only will the cover protect your mattress from stain and smells, it is also easy to care for (a.k.a. machine-washable) and it will "prevent bacteria and dust mites from breeding in your pillow & mattress."

You can purchase one for your family at myprotectabed or you can find a retailer near you. The covers are available in all bed sizes, from crib to california king.

I highly recommend the Protect-A-Bed covers. They are lightweight and they provide peace of mind. Depending on the size and style that you select, the covers run from $29.99 to $149.99. To me, that's a small price to pay when you compare it to buying a brand new mattress (which you will have to do after only a few "leaks" or sick nights...Once that liquid seeps in, it's in there forever. Gross, but true.).

  6. I could definitely use this! I refuse to use the one I bought at Target because it smells so strongly of vinyl that it can't be good for my kids.

  7. We're just starting potty training with our two year old. I'm pretty sure she's going to figure out how to sleep in mom and dad's bed real quick and this would be a life saver.

  8. This would be so helpful for all of 'those nights' when you wish you had thought about the logic of bringing your baby into your bed when she's sick...

Add that to all of my daughter's environmental allergies (dust mites, mold, grass, pollen, trees, cats, dogs, etc.) and this would solve a lot of problems for us!

  9. Ironically Im not sure who does more damage to my bed.. Connor (the drool master himself) or my boyfriend who almost rivels Connor's drooling.. (I know I know thats gross)

    LOL

I'll go blog you now :)

  11. With flu season rapidly approaching and one child who has nosebleeds at night, I wish I had a twin size for each of my children's beds.

  12. Please, please, please pick me! I am up right now at 2:30 am because my four and half year old wet the bed. I need one (or three) of these.

  13. This would be super! I have had those "issues" of no where to sleep.

We are Co-sleeping with our baby right now. My hubby isn't keen on the idea, but she is happier with it. So, for now...she is in the middle. :)

Thanks for all your reviews you do! And the contests~ :)

  14. Oh, the times when I have needed one of these! Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending how you look at it), I'm sure there will still be future incidents in which Protect-A-Bed would be beneficial. Enter me!!

  15. Oh, how I could have used one of these when we had our son co-sleeping with us! When I read your scenario, I laughed so hard...I couldn't tell you how many of those nights we had! What an awesome idea! I would LOVE to win this for next time around! Thanks for the chance!

  16. Oh my, how I need this one. I can't tell you how many times our toddler has peed in our bed. She's so cute and a great bed partner, but boy oh boy, do I hate sleeping in a pee pee bed!

  17. Haha!!! I feel like I'm ALWAYS changing sheets!!! We love having our little one sleep with us though so it's worth it...

  18. The spit-ups, the milk leaks, the wet diaper...we've had 'em all on our bed. Late would be better than never for this cover, right?!?!

  19. We don't co-sleep, but with a soon-to-be-potty-training toddler who sometimes even leaks out of her diaper, we need one for her bed!
