Safer Bibs for Drooling Babies

Safer Bibs for Drooling Babies 1

My daughter never was much of a bib-wearer. She actually didn't drool a whole lot and I just preferred to change her clothes after messy meals instead of using a bib (not sure why - I think I'm just a minimalist by nature...).

That said, I know plenty of moms who have their little ones wear bibs all day long because it is easier for them.

If your little one is the bib-sporting type, this is something new to consider. Bibs & Match offers "innovative bibs that attach directly to the onesies to help prevent strangulation and suffocation."

Safer Bibs for Drooling Babies 2Molly, a mom of two and the inventor of the product, explains how she thought of the idea: "There were numerous occasions when my baby fell asleep with a bib on and I didn’t want to disturb him to unsnap or unVelcro the bib from the back of his neck. Then I’d worry about bib strangulation." As a result of this frustration, she did what so many moms amaze me in doing - she created a solution!

Bibs and Match sets feature simple, modern, cartoon-style animal pictures and can be interchanged easily - the "heads" on the bibs match with the "body" on the onesie. Very clever! That is my favorite feature of Bibs & Match (besides the safety feature, of course).

At present, there aren't a whole lot of designs to choose from and the ones that are available tend to be more boyish than girlish in my opinion, but the website states that they are meant to be gender-neutral.

Bibs & Match sets can be purchased online or at a retailer near you. The sets are available in the following sizes: 3-6m, 6-9m, 9-12m.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a Bibs and Match 3-Piece Set. To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Friday, June 27 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #24 Gen. Congratulations!

  4. Since I have alot of bibs, I know a mom-to-be who needs everything and I would give this cute prize to her.

  5. Great idea! I've had that same problem with my 7-week-old daughter... I keep bibs on her because she sporadically spits up all day and hates to be changed from one outfit to the other, lol. So sometimes it's just easier to have bibs on her. Thanks!

  6. Have 4 month old grandbabies that will be drooling soon when those precious teeth come in, so I could really use these.

  7. My second son has definitely needed bibs more than his older brother. He is a big boy, so some of the bibs out there don't fit him well. This concept looks like it might work well for him!

  8. Very nice idea! For my grandchild, thanks for the chance to win! Onesies with an attaching bib to match!

  9. I would love a new bib set, my older ones are not in very good condition after two boys! These are much cuter too! I think my new little one would love some fresh bibs! Thanks!

  10. My son didn't just drool...he spit up long after the 6 months that Dr. Bob told me it would stop...needless to say we went through many a bib. Now that he's eating solid food it's even messier.

I love this...innovative bibs that attach directly to the onesies to help prevent strangulation and suffocation...is she a nurse? haha!

  11. Those are hilarious! The three piece set is precious- I love how the different heads match with the different bottoms. I also like the pacifier clip they have on the website.

  12. Thats very smart. As my son got older he would always try to rip his bibs off. With them snapped on, instead of a little piece of velcro I dont think he could!

  13. I do like bibs and outfits to match if possible, and now that Cheeks is teething and drooling like mad the bibs are getting a lot more use. I don't like putting her down to sleep with them on because of the choking possibility, though (as the creator said), so this looks like a great option for that. I agree that it would be nice if there were girlier options for my little beauty, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks!

  14. I would love to win this for my new grandson due in sept. Babys and bibs are a must.
I love unique items. So entering contest trying to win some awesome gifts, so please count me in.
Thank you for offering contest and giving me a chance to win.

  15. Happy Sunday! What a fun idea. I like the way the bib head sits on the body of the onesie. Please enter me in this drawing. Thank you, Cindi

  16. My daughter was always a mess. My father said, Wow, she really throws herself into a meal! I would give the bibs to my sis in law who is due soon. My girls are 12 and 10, though the 10 year old...maybe.

  17. I love all the new baby ideas I find online... Can't wait to start shopping for my sisters baby when she comes

  18. This is a really cute idea. I hope the site will continue to expand and have a variety of these sets available. I really think that there is a market for them and not just for a one time thing.

  19. I've never heard of bib strangulation. My youngest wears them a lot because he's a big spitter upper. Now I have something new to keep in mind. I do always use velcro ones and he doesn't sleep with them on....oh boy...always something new to think about! This product is a great idea!

  20. I was just pulling out all the old baby clothes and noticed that my little guy ruined just about all of his 9-12 month onesies. I guess I should have put a bib on him more often...oops. This looks so fun!

  21. What a cute idea. My son is 6 months and is a little drool monster so he could definatly use these. Thanks.

  22. Not something I had a problem with when my children were babies, but this is a cute idea, and maybe my granddaughter will be a heavy bib user for her coming child.

  23. What a good idea. And while I agree that they're more "boyish than girlish", I think a baby girl can wear them just fine!

  24. These are too adorable !
Thank you so much for offering this wonderful giveaway.
I would LOVE to win !!

  25. My #1 was not at all a drooly baby. Her sister more than makes up for it. Daily we have wet wet shirts. My mom brought her some little bibs but I too was worried about letting her sleep with it on but didn't want to wake her with the ever so loud velcro sound (which I was going to spell out but realized I have no idea how). Lovin' this invention and wishin' I was one of those ingenious moms.

  26. Wow, I am amazed that someone has come up with something like this. I've just begun to need bibs for my 3 month old (lots of drooling) and I felt the same way about unsnapping a bib from him when he's fallen asleep, as he is a really light sleeper. I'd love to try this, as I don't want him to strangle himself if he naps with the bib on. Thanks for sharing!

  27. I would love to try these. My first two kids were HUGE droolers- I think due to teething and they started teething WAY before we saw teeth. Their entire fronts would get soaked and I used bibs constantly- what a great idea this mom had! Thanks for introducing us to such a cool product!

  28. This is such a good idea...one of those ideas that seems so common sense, but amazingly someone only just now dreamed up.

  29. Great design. I had a spitter and it wasn't fun to cover up those darling outfits with a bib that more often than not - didn't match.

  30. What a creative idea. I think that once word of mouth gets out, this idea will just explode and it will be the next it thing
