Secure2Me: A Blanket that Stays Put

My daughter was a September baby and people often expressed sympathy for me, lamenting the fact that I would have to endure the long hot days of summer. I, on the other hand, felt quite fortunate to be blessed with an early fall baby because she arrived just as the harsh rays of sweaty sunshine were being shooed away by gentle breezes and crisp autumn evenings.

Secure2Me: A Blanket that Stays Put 1The wonderful weather meant that we could take delightfully long walks outdoors without too much worry about whether our little one would be overly hot or uncomfortably frosty. I did, however, fret about the intensity of the sun in my little beauty's eyes and the gusts of wind that sometimes greeted us on particularly blustery afternoons. On those days, I usually tried draping a light blanket over the infant carseat carrier - where my daughter was tucked securely inside. My attempts were usually futile because the blanket would inevitably blow off on to the street or get stuck in the stroller, defeating the original purpose to block sun and wind from my newborn's delicate skin. It was quite frustrating at times - having to pull the disobedient blanket in place every few strides.

Secure2Me: A Blanket that Stays Put 2Created by a mom, the Secure2Me Baby Blanket ("Clips on, Stays on") provides a solution to this all-too-common dilemma.  Each corner of the blanket features a clip that allows you to attach the blanket to a carseat, stroller, even a swing! If you live in a colder climate and want to keep your babe as snug as a bug, you'll probably want to go with the original Secure2Me Baby Blanket, which features a soft and cuddly material. If, however, you live in a warmer climate like I do, you will appreciate the mesh breathability of the Eclipse Solarveil Sun Protection Cover. The blanket blocks 95% of UV rays and keeps your baby fully covered, but is also lightweight and sheer enough to waylay any fears you may have of stifling or overheating your little one.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a Secure2Me Eclipse Solarveil Sun Protection Cover ($29.00). To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Monday, October 20 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #4 Becca. Congratulations!

  1. My friend just had twins and she needs two of everything. I would like to win this for her. Thanks for the contest.

  2. These look very useful. It seems much better than seeing the blanket being blown away in the wind (yes that has happene to me).

  3. This is a fantastic idea, I hate when the blanket falls on the ground and you run it over with the stroller.

  4. What a great idea!

It's already getting colder around here, and I much prefer to put my son in a blanket in his stroller than all bundled up and uncomfortable in layer upon layers to stay warm! We had an infant blanket thing for the car seat, but he outgrew it (it was "footed) so this would be great to add to our stroller :)

  5. A good friend of mine recently gave birth to a son with albanism. She would love and needs this product. I would pass it on to her.

  6. Great product. I live in San Diego where it's pretty sunny and warm year round. The news just said it will be 90 one day this week! *gag*

  7. This product is awesome! I am constantly trying to rig up a blanket to protect my little one from this Florida sun. I would love to have this. Thanks!

  8. I have a secure2me blanket and I think it's wonderful. No more dirty or lost blankets! Living in sunny CA this would be perfect for keeping my little boy away from the sun's rays. I like the limeade!

  9. I would love to give this to my sister who just gave birth. Thank you for holding another wonderful giveaway.

  10. I could use about half a dozen of these for gifts. We have had a baby boom around us. 1 niece, 2 friends and 2 sons ( one a set of twins). Please enter me, thank you

  11. Wow, I just found your blog and have been reading it for a while this morning, then I saw this awesome giveaway! I'm due to be induced on Tuesday with baby #2 and this would be a great great accessory to have!

  12. This would be great for next summer, as baby naps in his car seat or bassinet. Thanks for the review and product information. Sounds like a great buy for new moms!

  13. This is a fabulous idea! We lived in a very warm climate when my first was born. After moving somewhere much colder for the next, we realized what a struggle it is to keep the blanket on and the baby snuggly. This idea is perfect. Granted, some days are too cold, but I don't like giving up outdoor walks in the winter for fear of her becoming too cold. what a perfect solution. Thank you for the chance to win!

  14. I've seen these before and they look great. I'd love to have one of these for the next baby. =) I hate when the blanket flys off and lands on the ground and it's all nasty or you have something that looks so pretty and it gets ruined because it flys off. This looks awesome. Thanks.

  15. This would be great when one of my grandchildren is here (5 months and 1 due in January). Please count me in. Thanks!!

  16. I love the fact that it is lightweight. Right now, I actually use my nursing cover and it would be nice to have an alternative. Thanks!

  17. My Hawaiian-born grandson, with grandparents who live in Michigan and Florida, will most definitely benefit from this blanket. He'll be able to handle both the cold and sunny days when he comes to visit during the next months.

  18. Wow this blanket is a great idea! I already got my best friend a personalized baby blanket, now it looks like I have to get her one of these!! I might get both! It can get very hot and very cold here!!! Thank you sharing this with us!

  19. My little guy was a November baby so we had to endure a LONG Minnesota winter with a newborn. We used our BundleMe well into April. This time, however, we'll have an April baby which means I'll need something just like this to protect my little one from all the gorgeous sunshine while lounging on our Minnesotan lakes.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  20. What a smart mama and business woman to come up with this. I love that you feature these hard working, creative women.
Its so true! That Arizona sun is brutal, and no carseat built-in-shade is big enough! I'd just love to have one of these for our little one on the way. I'm sure he or she would love not squinting or getting sun burned too!

  21. I was forever clipping blankets to the stroller, car seat, etc with clothes pins . . . this would look much less hokey and have UV protection to boot.
