SLY Awards: KidsCraft Playhouses

SLY Awards: KidsCraft Playhouses 1SLY Award recipient Joy Maddox has four kids. Four fun, fantastic, artistic kids - under age 6.

I bet they're going to be super excited that KidsCraft Playhouses has offered up their choice of either The Creation Cottage ($59.95) or The Shuttle Imagination ($69.95).

Both structures are made from 100% recycled cardboard material and are designed to DECORATE! Kids can use crayons, markers, paints, stickers, and colored pencils to create their own masterpiece. Then, they can play with their creation for hours on end - using their imagination to inspire play.

The Creation Cottage is quaint and well-sized enough for multiple children, with a door and windows and a chimney on top.

  1. What's not to love with something like this? It's cardboard (recycled and post-play recyclable), you can draw on it, you can go inside of it, and it will provide a lot of creative fun between parents and kids/siblings. This is a great prize, and would be a great gift!!

  2. I'm ready to remove the giant plastic slide from my kids' room and to give them an indoor playhouse - this is perfect!

  3. What a great way to unleash your children's imaginations! These are fantastic products. Thanks for the contest!

  4. These are so adorable I wish I had one when i was a kid..We had a large fridge box we played in.With this a child can get creative and let their imagination flow :)

  5. I love the fact that these products are made in the USA and are made with recyclable materials. My daughter would have so much fun putting stickers on the little cottage. I would love to watch her play in it.

  6. I love that the kids can color and draw what ever they want on the play houses. My son has been wanting the shuttle every since he seen it.

  7. I like that this doesnt require batteries..it would be fun for my son to be creative and make him own custom house or shuttle!

  8. My son would so love the shuttle. He is very into space right now. His birthday party is next month and he has asked for a space themed birthday party. What a cool prop this would be.

  9. My daughter would love the cottage. I think it's great that their products are made from 100% recycled materials.

  10. This is a great product! Plus, the company donates part of their profits to childrens charities!!! A win for everyone! Thanks!

  11. Awesome prize. My kiddos would probably like the rocket the best. Most of the time my youngest plays with the boxes more then the toys at Christmas Time LOL

  12. This inspired me to try and make a playhouse out of cardboard. Its a cleaver way to be creative and allow your kids to use their imagination. Also, reuse some materials that might end up in the trash.

  13. These are so innovative and leave a child's imagination soar! My niece and nephew would enjoy
    the Shuttle. Merci, Cindi

  14. OMG. I have grandchildren who would LOVE these. I just gave my granddaughter a giant cardboard box, huge one, and she loved it. Until Mommy said no more!! LOL

  15. What a genius invention! Kids usually love huge boxes to play in, and it seems they are usually really hard to find... unless you get a new fridge every week! haha!

  16. I've been seeing these playhouses around here and there online, and I just love them. I love the creative freedom that kids can take with the house to truly make it their own!

  17. My son would love this. I think my husband would get out of helping him decorate the shuttle as well. Thanks for the giveaway.

  18. What a lovely idea--kind of an update to the old playhouses we used to make out of refrigerator boxes. My boys would really enjoy the rocket-ship one. Thanks!

  19. I remember my parents getting a new fridge when I was a kid - I swear we had the box a year later! These are such a cool adaptation of fridge boxes! hehe.

  20. My kids would be over the moon for one of these. The hard part would be deciding which one! And I agree about the made in USA from recycled paper - good stuff. Thanks for the opportunity.

  21. The boys would have a blast with this and I'm thrilled that they are made in the USA. You can also recycle these toys when your kids are thru playing with them.

  22. even though i have a son, i'd love the playhouse...his new favorite show is busytown mysteries, and they have a secret clubhouse...i would love for this to be our secret clubhouse

  23. Well, those boxes are certainly a lot cooler than the things I had to play with when I was kid! I'd love to give that to my kids!

  24. My 2 little grandsons are always building themselves a 'house' using blankets and boxes/tables. They would be thrilled to have one of these. Thanks for the giveaway.

  25. My husband will find empty appliance boxes once in awhile to make into houses for our granddaughters. These would be so great.

  26. My grandson would really enjoy this. Creating your own shuttle. How cool is that? We had to use empty boxes to create our own toys. Love this

  27. What a fun concept! My sister recently created a fabulous play house for her daughter out of big boxes, and my boys enjoyed helping decorate it & play in it. The shuttle especially is a very neat idea!

  28. My son loves to create his own playhouses and such out of boxes. Currently, we salvaged one from a project at work and he made a schoolhouse out of it. He would absolutely go bonkers over something like this...he loves to draw and color, so this would be perfect--either one!

  29. My little bro and I got something like this one Christmas--so fun! I'd love to give my kids the shuttle one for space adventures. Thanks!

  30. This looks like so much fun! I should really look into these products. My son would love the Shuttle and my daughters would have a blast with the Cottage. Thanks so much for introducing me to these products.

  31. I have two nephews who would love the Space Shuttle Imagination - (or the Cottage if we call it something else)

  32. What I think is neat about this is that they can decorate it. My daughter is at the stage where she loves playing house and roping brother into the game, so this would be great.

  33. How FUN! We make forts out of blankets and such, but how much cooler would it be to have one that they can draw on (other than a box that may come in the mail every now and then!) :) The rocket is pretty cool too! I can only imagine the gleeful giggles Joy's kids let out when they found out they get to pick one of their own. So fun!!

  34. I have fond memories of decorating large cardboard boxes. My friend's son even got one for Christmas! So these are a natural extension. I don't know that I would be able to decide between the rocket or the cottage though. They both look really fun.

  35. I spent many wonderful Saturdays playing in refrigerator boxes that my friends and I turned into playhouses! Looking back, I can't believe that one of my friend's parents let us leave them set up in their living room for weeks on end. :)

  36. Well my goodness, we are all so excited over here! I wish you could have heard the gleeful giggles :) Thank you!

  37. This is awesome! We've made our own rockets out of cardboard so many times (practically weekly)! This would be SOOOOO fun for my fellas!

  38. My daughter just turned 3, and it's so fun to see her imagination bloom! She would love a little playhouse. And the fact that she could "decorate" it herself would make it even more special.

  39. Fun! We had something similar a while ago, my son loved it! We would love to have a new one to play in and color on....it makes me want to do something creative!

  40. That's so exciting! I can so see Joy's kids playing in there. While we're on that topic, I can see mine in it, too. :) They love art, they love pretend play, and they would adore this little cute house. Thanks for showing it to us!

  41. This reminds me of my Mickey Mouse house that I would play in. I had it up in the living room all the time when I was a kid. Mine was made of plastic poles and a vinyl material for the sides and roof....
This is a neat idea for kids to put their own design on the house.

  42. My boys would have a BLAST in the Shuttle Imagination! (No pun intended!) And getting to decorate things is a plus for sure!!!
