So, did you like the SLY Awards?

So, did you like the SLY Awards? 1Congrats again to Kristen, the very 1st recipient of a SLY Award here at Metropolitan Mama. She's kind. She's intentional about parenting. She's honest. And she previously lived in SE Asia, working toward literacy development. She is totally worthy of this honor and it was my pleasure to provide her with a few gifts to show my admiration.

The past few days have been so, so, so much fun. You know that little quote, "it's better to give than receive"? Well, it's true.

Quick Question for you - how often do you want to see SLY Awards happen here at Metropolitan Mama?

I may or may not go in the direction of the majority, but I'd really like to hear your thoughts. I'm curious if you're more on the side of "I like it, but I prefer to read your personal musings most of all" or "If you have sponsoring companies all lined up, why not surprise as many people as possible?" If you would click on my poll, I'd be appreciative. Thank you, mucho.

  1. When I saw that you were doing this I said to myself, "oh how wonderful, oh how Stephanie". I think this is a wonderful way to bless those who need some extra stuff and you are truly making a difference in there lives. Good job!

  2. I voted every two weeks. I loved the SLY awards and I enjoyed getting to know someone new. But I also look forward to your personal posts. So I think every two weeks is the perfect option. You get to honor two people a month and have enough time in between to blog about your life too.

  3. I liked it and would love to see it continue. But, I hope that it would only be a day or two of posts, and you used the other days for something more personal. BTW I started my blog finally: check it out!

  4. I love the SLY awards and appreciate the introduction to Kristen! But I missed reading your personal opinions about the products. The item that I remember best is the Discipline Without Distress book -- because you said you were reading it and actually liked it. What I enjoy most about your blog is getting to know you through your posts.

  5. It was a lot of fun and really tells a lot about the kind of person you are....special!

I would love to see it again, maybe once a month to find new special people, bloggers, etc.

  6. I voted weekly, but mostly because I think it is so much fun to give this stuff away to not one, but two different people. Like you said, I have learned so many times in life that it is better to give than receive. I love that! :)

  7. I thought it was fantastic. You did such a stellar job putting it together. If they are all of this high of a quality with good people and good stuff, you're on a good road here. You are a blessings, lovely!

  8. This was so fun! I told you before, but it makes the recipient feel great about him/herself (and who doesn't need that every once in a while??) and it makes the readers aspire to do more in their own lives and for others. So I voted for once a week! :) By the way, you've inspired me to bake cupcakes with the girls and deliver them. I haven't started yet, but I have three boxes of unbaked cupcakes in my cupboard waiting to be baked, decorated, and delivered. Thanks for the idea!

  9. I LOVED this. It was a fun way to get to know another person! I voted for every 2 weeks, but as often as you want is great! Such a fun, uplifting idea! I LOVE it!

  10. I guess I can't weigh in quite yet, since I was the recipient, but... I LOVED it. I think your new way of doing giveaways is fantastic. I still hope you do reviews from time to time, because I really value your opinion (and often go back to see what you thought about such-and-such). I am excited to see you bless others with your kindness, your words of encouragement, and the physical blessings of gifts on this blog. Stephanie, you are incredible. I am grateful for you, and I think this is one more way you are seriously making the world a better place (with smiles and sunshine and...). Thanks for doing it.
And I can't wait to participate as a non-recipient. Who is the next person?!?!?!?
Much love sent from across the country!
