Somebody Loves You, Dayna Hadden

Somebody Loves You, Dayna Hadden 1

Congratulations to Dayna Hadden…this week's recipient of a SLY Award here on Metropolitan Mama.

Somebody Loves You, Dayna Hadden 2Every once in awhile, some scary emergency happens and you end up at the hospital. You hope and pray for a caring, compassionate, and intelligent nurse to watch over you and/or your precious family member. You don't know it, but...you're praying for someone like Dayna Hadden.

Dayna has been a nurse since 2004. She works in the pediatric intensive care unit - a place of many tears, much sorrow, and much healing. If you showed up at her hospital, bleary-eyed and beaten down, you would feel a sudden sense of relief upon seeing her warm eyes, her sincere smile, and her calming voice. You would undoubtedly notice her stunning natural beauty, but you would be drawn in by her good heart.

Dayna had this to say about her occupation of choice, "I find my work as an RN challenging- academically, clinically, spiritually, & emotionally. I like the variety of our patient population- newborn all the way to young adult & w/ many different diagnoses- trauma, transplants, cancer...etc. I am thankful for such a tangible way to try to serve and reflect God's love."

Somebody Loves You, Dayna Hadden 3The cool thing about Dayna is that she is also extremely cognizant of her most significant role - as mom to her two delightful little girls, ages 6 months and 2.5 years old. She works on the weekends from 7pm-7am to ensure that her girls don't have any non-parental care and I'm fairly certain that she sacrifices sleep for playtime on some of those days.

She is a gentle, strong, and beautiful woman. (And  - P.S. - she's thinking about starting a blog!)

Won’t you join with me as I celebrate Dayna and shower her with two surprise gifts hand-selected just for her? Oh, and YOU will have a chance to win both products too.

If you know Dayna in real life [or if you have something to say about her story...], please leave a compliment here for her. Let's give her something to smile about today!

  1. I feel so grateful that there are people in this world like Dayna who are practicing a vocation and offering such comfort and care to people who desperately need it. You sound awesome, Dayna!

  2. I am blessed to say that I have known Dayna for about 8 years and her passion for life and caring spirit has made a difference in so many people lives. Me included....she has always been there and to see her blessing her children with her amazing gifts and the patients she humbly serves is a testimony of Gods amazing love and grace. Just speaking with Dayna for any amount of time makes you feel like a better person and leaves you with a memory of those people you will never forget. Contratulations my friend on your award! You deserve it! "You are Beautiful!"

  3. Dana sounds like an awesome nurse. I am so thankful for the good nurses I've been privileged to know, I know it's not an easy job - but I appreciate the hard work you do.

  4. So deserving! The nurses at the children's hospital were so amazing when the kids had RSV- they have such difficult jobs, that take such big hearts! I can't imagine what a challenge it is to carry that burden at work, and then to come home to a 2 year old and infant (I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 3 month old!) So glad you get to bless her Stephanie!

  5. Congratulations Dayna! Thank you for the work you do...there is no doubt that you have made a special impact on the babies and families you encounter every day!

  6. Now I don't know Dayna personally but I do know that the nurses that work in the PICU and NICU are absolute angels sent by God to do his work here on the Earth. They do so much more than just provide medical care for their patients. They care for the families of all those little ones (and not so little ones). God bless you!

  7. Thank you for everything you do! A nurse, a wonderful parent and mother...I'm glad to know there are people out there who can keep it all together and work in service of others in such a way. Cheers, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday weekend.
