If you shop consignment, you're used to the drill. You bring in your gently used clothes and receive store credit to shop. I absolutely love that model because it's affordable (or free!) and also contributes to less "waste."
The only thing I DON'T love about it is that I almost always shop with my three daughters (including an infant!). Having to wait for a clerk to process our clothing can be frustrating and selecting clothes while hoisting a baby on my hip and keeping an eye on two other blonde heads is not an easy task.
thredUP offers the best of both worlds. I can resell clothing and select new pieces...all without leaving my house.
Here's how it works:
(1) Browse thousands of like-new kids clothing items, which have been hand-selected and certified for quality. You'll find top brands (including Gymboree, Baby GAP, Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, MORE), discounted up to 75% off.
(2) Whenever you have clothes to sell, simply fill up a thredUP bag ($4.95, FULLY REFUNDABLE) and put it on your doorstep or drop it off at any UPS Store. thredUP covers the shipping and pays you for every item.
Here are the items we selected. They arrived wrapped in tissue paper and we were impressed by the quality..."like-new" is true. [PICTURED: Gymboree Skort for $6.49; French Toast Short Sleeve Shirt for $2.99]
We also sent in a bag of 8 gently-used items and received a credit of $7.53 (for four items), but I'm sure you can make much more.
I plan to continue to shop at thredUP in the coming year. It's an innovative concept that makes moms' lives easier. Two thumbs up.
P.S. If you use any of the links in this post, you'll receive $5 toward your first clothing purchase! You can also enter to win a back-to-school wardrobe for your child!
* Thanks to thredUP for providing a credit for review purposes.

I love childrens place clothing
Brand isn't a determining factor for me when buying clothes. I buy based on price, quality, and style. I recently discovered that Baby Gap underwear are very cute and similar in price to underwear everywhere else, so my son has some swanky unders. Children's Place and Carters have a good selection of shorts with adjustable waist bands (a must for my skinny guy).
I LOVE the thredUP concept! Shopping online is extremely helpful.
I love Carters the best!
I buy a lot of Gymboree, but I won't spend full price. Otherwise, Target!
Old Navy!
I like Children's Place, Old Navy and Land's End for my boys
I really like Gymboree, Childrens Place, Old Navy and Target.
Carters have always fit my kids best so we have a lot of that. I'm not a huge fan of Tea's boys clothes, but the girls... yeah I can see myself spending a lot of money there in the next few years! ;)
I like Levis for little kids.
I like Osh Kosh
gap, old navy, ps from aeropostale
stuff like that :)
I like Gymboree and The Children's Place.
i don't have a favorite. i just go with what we can afford.
You can't go wrong with Old Navy.
My favorite brand is tea collection. I love their play dresses and leggings!
Janie & Jack clothes are my favorite, but totally unaffordable. Gymboree, Carters, Koala Kids, Gap & Osh Kosh are my other preferred brands for kid clothes depending upon which child I'm shopping for.
I love crazy eight
My favorite children's clothing is Faded Glory.
I like a variety truly -- local boutiques, Gymboree, and even Wal*Mart.
Thanks for this...what a neat idea!
I like Lands end and Old Navy.
I like Anne Taylor for myself.
I have several favorite brands, depending on who I am shopping for, including Gymboree or their upline, Janie and Jack, The Children's Place, Carters, and Land's End.
Tea collection, carter are my two favorites
I love this concept too! We have a botique (yes, a BOTIQUE) up the street from our house that offers a rack of gently used name brand clothing. I love hunting through that rack! I've found some great stuff for my girls. Down side? I have yet to find many boy clothes. What a great idea to put this whole concept online.
My favorite brands of clothing for the kids are Gap, Old Navy, Gymboree, Lands End and I still really love Target too!
For my oldest, we love the fit from The Children's Place.
My daughter likes Old Navy.
Thanks for the chance.
