What to Wear on the Day of the Race

What to Wear on the Day of the Race 1You could wear something typical like shorts and a tee or running tights and a tank-top. Or you could stand out on the track in a pretty little number from SkirtSports.

A running skirt (the GymGirl or the MarathonGirl, for example) is an excellent option to consider. SkirtSports' skirts are stylish and modern, but also modest and comfortable. They are as stretchy as spandex, but without the attention on your rear end.

***Now, for a shout-out to my fellow Arizona mamas! If you live in or around Tempe, you might want to consider running in the Skirt Chaser 5k on Friday, February 29, 2008. The race begins at 6:00 p.m., but the event continues long after you cross the finish line. There will be a block party, a SkirtSports fashion show, and "Dating games" until 9:00. The winner of the race will walk away with (or should I say "run away with"...?)$500. You can register and check out the full schedule here.What to Wear on the Day of the Race 2

This race sounds especially perfect for any single mamas out there. Or you could spread the word to younger siblings, cousins, or friends who might enjoy a "younger" race with post-race events.

Even if you decide not to go to that particular race, you should take a look at the SkirtSports line-up (right now there's a 20% off sale going on) to pick out something for the event that you signed up for (or that you're going to sign up for by X...go for it, set a goal!). :)

WIN IT! One mama will win either a GymGirl or MarathonGirl. To enter, simply leave a comment and your e-mail address on this post before Monday, Feb. 18. Remember, you must either post the Get Fit in February button on your blog or e-mail 5 of your friends about the promotion to be eligible! The winner will be announced and contacted on Tuesday, Feb. 19. * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

* UPDATE * The winner is #9 jbubolz-miller. Congratulations!

  6. I bet wearing one of those would make me more inclined to exercise... I especially love Gym Girl. Those kinds of saddlebags, I can use!

  7. Those skirts are adorable! I wish I lived in Arizona and could join in the event on Feb 29th, but I'm up here in Michigan and winter is definitely the "off-season" for road races!!
