A Curling Iron for Curly Hair...

When it comes to my hair, I'm a wash-and-go girl. I spend about 5 minutes on my hair on most days. It's one of the advantages of naturally curly hair. I'll admit that my hair is a bit wild and unruly looking at times, but it somehow looks kinda cute that way (sometimes...) because it's curly.

A Curling Iron for Curly Hair... 1On special occasions or when I'm feeling a little bored with my usual no-fuss style, I pull out my Bed Head Light Me Up 3/4" Styling Iron. This may surprise some people since I already have curly hair. BUT naturally curly hair (although it does have its own charm...) is NOT the same as the gorgeous, controlled ringlets that irons produce.

The Bed Head Light Me Up 3/4" Styling Iron is specifically designed to "define naturally curly hair or to allow you to create your own masterpiece." It features a nano ceramic barrel and heats up to 400 degrees in no time. I barely have to wait before the iron is hot and ready to work. Plus, the iron is funky and fun looking in bright turquoise with yellow buttons (a minor detail, I know...).

Bed Head Light Me Up Styling Irons are also available in 1" and 1 1/2" models if you want bigger curls. All Light Me Up irons can be purchased at a variety of retailers (including Target and Amazon.com) and cost around $20.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a Bed Head Light Me Up 3/4" Styling Iron. To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Tuesday, October 14 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #171 Rachel Belkin. Congratulations!

  2. I need a new curling iron. I've had my old one for about 10 years and it's getting kind of gross from the product build up.

  3. My hair has lots of underlying curls but it ends up looking more wavy than curly by the end of the day. If I gave the curls a boost with a curling iron that would give me a whole new look.

  4. My hair is naturally curly but it still needs some "direction" on how to behave! I would love this curling iron! Plus the colors are really cute!

  5. I love bedhead products and this styling iron
would be really cool to win! Thanks for the
    opportunity.

  6. I also have naturally curly hair and would never have thought to use a styling iron. I would be thrilled to try this!

  7. I have natural curly hair too - and while it does look cute at times, I could sure use a curling iron to make it pretty...

  8. I have "straight as a board" hair and must use curlers or a curling iron or I look like a "flathead". I have a curling iron but it has a huge barrel on it and I recently cut my hair short so I need to try a smaller one.

    Thanks for the contest.

  9. I would love to get a new curling iron,I have been doing my Mom's hair so it would be great for her. Count me into this awesome contest

  10. The last time I had a new curling iron, I was in high school, and I graduated in 1982. I would love to have a fancy new one! My hair is so limp and fine, I could really use the help!

  11. After your description on this curling iron who wouldn't want to try it? Great job...you are hired! (lol). Thank you for the chance to win this nice prize, good luck to everyone entering.

  12. I miss having a curling iron so much. Mine broke awhile ago and I still haven't gotten a new one and I want/need one really bad. Enter me too please :)

  13. I too am "blessed and cursed" with curly hair and would LOVE to win this to get these curls under control!!

Thank you for a great giveaway!!

  14. This iron looks so cute. I'd love to call it mine. I have straight hair, so we'll see what it can do for me.

  15. I really need a good curling iron, I have never even owned a curling iron because I'm so cheap when it comes to spending money on myself. However, I do love to have hair that looks great so i would love to win this one

  16. I've got straight, thick hair and I usually don't put much time into it, but it would be fun to see if this iron would be able to curl my hair. I can always use a little bit of change when it comes to my hair! :) Thanks so much!

  17. Oh I can certainly relate to the naturally curly hair and not having those controled curls like you get from salon style. Everyone always tells me they wish they had curl in their hair, but I guess we wish for whatever we don't have. This looks like a terrific curling iron to help those of us who need some extra help.

  18. I, too, have naturally wavy hair, and I do happen to like what it does most days, but in the upper midwest, with our humidity, that can really work against me! This iron sounds great, and I have been impressed by other Bed Head products. Thank you :)

  19. My niece could seriously use a iron like this one. I didn't know they existed! She has a massive amount of naturally curly hair and some days her mom about gives up on her hair. Please enter me in your drawing. I would enjoy giving Caitlin this for a Christmas gift. I appreciate it. Many thanks, Cindi

  20. Oh please count me in, I haven't had a curling iron worth using in a very long time!!! This could be very useful to me!

  21. A curling iron happens to be one the things my daughter has asked for Christmas this year.

  22. I have been needing a new curling iron so bad! Frizzy curls be gone! I would love to win this, thank you for the giveaway!

  23. I could definitely use something to add a new style to my hair.
Thank you so much for offering this wonderful giveaway.
I would LOVE to win !!

  24. I too have curly hair and usually only wash it and let NATURE dry it! However for special occasions I would truly enjoy little ringlets, something I've never yet tried!

  25. This looks awesome! I would love it for my daughter who has just started styling her hair. :)

:) Thank you for the great giveaway! :)

  26. I too have naturally curly hair and I've always wondered how to get that controlled curl look. I've tried everything from inexpensive products to really expensive products. Maybe this curling iron could do the trick!

  27. My hair is not really super curly, but not straight either. I wish it WERE one or the other! But this would work well with my naturally wavy hair!

  28. I have naturally kinky curly hair and I have struggled with it my entire 37 years. I have shed many tears because my hair is so unruly and hard to control/manage.

I do enjoy curling my hair and would be thrilled with an iron specifically for my type of hair.

Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  29. I too have naturally curly hair. But I have never learned to love it. I still straighten every morning. Maybe this curling iron would be the thing to make me change my mind.

  30. This would be perfect for my naturally curly hair when I want to have nice curls instead of my normal ones! :)

  31. My disabled wife of more than 38 years has curly hair but is so thin - she needs to curl it!
Thanks for this great contest and prize@!

  32. My curling iron is ready for the dumpster. I could really use a new one. Please count me in. Thanks!!

  33. I would definately love one of these for my 11 yr old daughter. She is constantly wanting me to curl her hair since she has long, straight hair like her momma!

  34. i have straight fine hair and do not want to perm ( to harsh ) but love curls so i have to spent 30 min every morning to put hot rollers in :( this would be a great to win :)

    thanx

  35. I have naturally curly/wavy hair & could use this iron on those frizzy humidity days when its not fun having naturally curly hair!

  36. I have poker straight hair. I usually just wash and go most days but when I go out I would love to give myself some style.

  37. I have very fine, straight blonde hair and use Bead Head products daily. The curling iron would ultimately be the perfect fit to my hurried morning routine.

  38. I use to have naturally curly hair, it's more like natural wavy now so I would love to have this curling iron. The curling iron I have now keeps losing it's teeth. So this smaller one would be just perfect for me. Great giveaway!

  39. I've never owned or used curling iron before, but recently, I sure have been coveting those pretty waves that I see in the magazines.

  40. Never knew there was a special iron for curly hair! Hmmmm maybe this would explain how I can't get any other iron to do me justice!

  41. I have naturally wavy hair and blow dry it straight because I don't know what to do with my waves...this may help. I need a new look!

  42. my hair is fine and very straight.......maybe this curling iron would help me also.......(I am soooo jealous of those with natural curls!)

  43. I would love this! I also have naturally curly hair but it looks crazy a lot of the time, LOL! Thanks for the contest!

  44. I think my daughter needs to start doing something with her hair. This looks like a great idea.

  45. I too have naturally curly hair, although it has gone more to a wve since having babies! I think this would be just the thing to perk it up and help give it some extra kick when I need it! Thank you for the chance!

  46. I would love to have a curling iron that heats up that fast! It sure would save me a lot of time and frustration.

  47. My hair is totally flat and straight. Big curing irons do nothing to change this, so maybe a small diameter curling iron will produce a little wave at least.

  48. I have naturally wavy hair, not tight curls but ocean like waves....and they often wave in the wrong direction! My curling iron died quite some time ago, so have been trying to keep my mop in control with blow dryer and brush, ugh. This would help, and I love the colors!

    Thank you. :-)

  49. With two daughters I could use a curling iron. My last one finally bit the dust after 15 years of great service.

  50. I'm definitely the "spend-five-minutes-or-less" on my naturally curly hair type, but would love to experiment with dressing it up a notch every now & then. This looks like a really nice product.

  51. I have naturally curly hair, too, but not quite as curly as yours! This sounds like a neat product...I have trouble with my traditional curling iron not really helping matters much when I use it. Would be nice to try!

  52. I have natural wave in my hair (I'm just now embracing it), so I'd love this iron to give my flatiron a break once in a while! :)

  53. With the flat Straight Hair that I have, I need a good curling iron that will help hold the curl in my hair.

  54. My "naturally curly hair," aka: the frizzy puffball attached to my head, is a real pain most of the time. I'd really like to try this curling iron. I know Bed Head hairstyling products are work great.

  55. I also have naturally curly hair and I can relate to the "unruliness" that can be controlled with an iron. I also love the instant on feature on this one. Thanks for offering this opportunity!

  56. Received my first curling iron at age 12. . . 30 years later it's still part of my quick morning routine. MKW

  57. I do not have super curly hair but I do have curly which I straighten thank you! =) Anyway.. I'd love to win this because now that I have shorter hair my big roll curling iron is too big. Please enter me to win. Thanks.

  58. This is the first time I've heard of a curling iron specifically designed for naturally curly hair, and I think it is great. As much as I adore my natural curls, they tend to be pretty erratic -- and frizzy -- and, well, annoying at times. :)

  59. I've always had a perm until about 2 years ago. Now I have to curl it if I want it to look nice, otherwise it is FLAT.

  60. My current iron is on its last legs. I love the color of this one and am sure that it could really amp up my styling options.

  61. Count me in! My hair doesn't always know what it is, it's not straight, but it's also not super curly. This would help me in the morning for sure.
    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  62. Ok so I love that it can be used on curly hair like mine too! : ) I always struggle with wearing it curly because I think it's too unruly! I straighten it a lot but it would be fun to do it cute curly! : )

  63. I totally do not have curly hair, but I want it. I'm jealous of yours! My curling iron is from the ice age, which obviously does not do well when you're trying to heat things up...this one would do well. :)

  64. Oh you are SO right! I have naturally wavy-curly hair, and it certainly does have some charm. The rare time when I decide to straighten it and then put curls in it? It looks marvelous! I would love to win this :)

  65. I, like you have curling hair, but it sometimes frizzes more than curls...grrr...I love being able to get up, wash and go, but this would be nice when I want to make sure it looks good for an evening out!

  66. Oh, how I have craved naturally curly hair. Alas, my lot is to have baby-fine, stick-straight, limp hair, but as my stylist is so kind to say, "Yeah, but you have a lot of it!"

I would love a new tool to achieve some curl! (Glad to see you are back!)
