Back to Work After Baby: Investigating Your Options

March 9, 2007 By Stephanie

Back to Work After Baby: Investigating Your Options 1To work or not to work.
That is the question.
Whether tis‘ nobler to stay at home
Amidst diapers, high chairs, and gummy grins
Or to head back to the workforce
with briefcase in hand and heels on your feet.

Before you make your decision, consider talking to your employer about available options:
1) Bring your baby to work with you.
2) Work from home.
3) Work part time.
4) Work full time.
5) Any combination of the above.
6) Work full time as a stay-at-home mom.

More and more employers are making accommodations for mothers so don’t be afraid to ask what arrangements might be possible in your work setting. If you long to be a stay-at-home mom, there are ways to make that work as well – even on a limited income.

I’ll discuss the pros and cons of the options listed above over the next few days. Want to add your input? Share your thoughts with other moms by posting here.
