I mentioned sports/energy bars and drinks in yesterday’s post as a way to energize before a workout or to refresh yourself after a workout.
I can’t say that I like the taste of most sports bars. They typically taste too dry, grainy, mineral-y…I don’t know what word to use to describe it appropriately. My taste buds just don’t love them, that’s all.
And I recently had the opportunity to test SportBeans by JellyBelly. They are tasty little jelly beans packed with carbs and electrolytes (and sugar) to get you through your workout. I liked the “pop-’em-in-your-mouth-and-go” factor and, of course, my taste buds didn’t give these guys the cold shoulder either. I really wanted to give away a pack or two of these, but couldn’t find them at the two grocery stores I visited (perhaps they’re only sold at outdoor/sporting good retailers…or maybe they’re in the candy aisle?).
Instead, I’m giving away a Cookies & Cream PowerBar. Are there any PowerBar enthusiasts out there? Even if PBs aren’t your thing, you should still answer the question so that we can all get some ideas. :)
