Products to Help You Celebrate Summer

June 27, 2013 By Stephanie

The summer solstice has come and gone. It’s time to enjoy splash pads and popsicles, bike riding and lemonade stands, lazy days at the library and licking ice cream cones.

As you make your summer bucket lists and plan out the weeks ahead, take a look at these fun products.

dutch-oven-for-camping

If camping or outdoor entertaining is on your summer calendar, a hard anodized dutch oven is a great choice for group meals. This 14″ option by GSI Outdoors is rust free, easy to clean, and weighs 66% less than cast iron. You can stick it right over an open flame. We love that it’s oversized – ideal for soups, stews, and bubbling ciders.

Even if you can’t get away for a trip up the mountain or in the countryside, you can always set up camp in the backyard or in the living room. Put up the tent, drag out the sleeping bags, and watch the stars. This is the stuff of memory-making. For after the lights go out, surprise your tiny campers with their own nightlight by Kinderglo. These fun-shaped nightlights are ultra-portable, non-toxic, and cool to the touch. The LED lights last for 8-10 hours and come with an easy-to-use charger. Our girls took these on our recent 5,000mile road trip and loved cuddling up with their softly lit pals in unfamiliar places.

BubbleBum-Inflatable-Booster-Seat

Short on space in your vehicle or don’t want to lug around a big booster on your next airplane flight? Consider the BubbleBum inflatable booster seat for summertime fun on the road. Designed for children between the ages of 4-11 (40-100lbs), the lightweight seat can be inflated and deflated in approximately 20 seconds. It also folds flat for easy transport in your purse or backpack – ideal for carpooling, rental cars, and grandparents’ cars. At $39.99, it’s much easier on your wallet than other bulkier boosters on the market. As far as safety goes, the Bubblebum creators want to remind you that, “It has been proven that children in booster seats have approximately half the injury risk of children without the use of a booster seat, and in seatbelts alone.” To ensure proper fit and comfort, the seat comes with a belt positioning clip. All in all, a super smart invention that has consistently received high marks from parents.
