This one's for the tennis players, the golfers, the swimmers, the hikers, the runners, the out-in-the-woods women on your list.
As an avid runner and a regular hiker myself, this list was pretty easy for me to compile. I hand-picked clothing, accessories, and gear that is well-suited for an active and outdoorsy lifestyle.
Athletic clothing is one of my go-to gifts for almost anyone. A new running skort, stretchy pair of leggings, cozy sweatshirt, or zip-up sun shirt is sure to be used for fun memories in the great outdoors.
I'm pleased to give you a sneak peek at four of the best clothing brands that offer well-made active clothing for women on-the-go. Be sure to browse their full collections, follow them on social media, and make a purchase if something catches your eye. You can click on any image to find out more information about that particular item.
Also - Watch my instagram + twitter feeds as I'll likely be styling some of these pieces in the upcoming months!
You can look and feel gorgeous on the golf court, thanks to GGblue. This woman-owned company offers polos, skorts, shorts, pants, and outwear in soft materials. You'll especially want to look at the Olympic Era collection in stunning shades of navy, white, and victory red (which is more of a vibrant orange). It's important to note that any active woman will appreciate this clothing line, whether she likes golf or not. These clothes are also ideal for walking, hiking, playing tennis, running errands, or school pick-up.
If you play tennis, you're probably familiar with Tail Activewear - but any active woman will love this brand of sophisticated, classic, and easy care clothing. The clothing pieces are designed for the outdoors w/ comfort stretch, moisture-wicking fabrics, and UPF sun protection. As an (important!) bonus, most of Tail's pieces can be machine-washed and dried. Just FYI - this brand runs big so you'll probably want to order a size down.
Whether you're heading to school pick-up, a community 5k, or shopping errands around town, you will love the comfortable and classy athletic tanks, skorts, leggings, tees, and pants by JoFit. JoFit especially prides itself in creating clothing that flatters all figure types. You'll also find that these pieces pack well (perfect gift pick for an avid traveler!).
Bette & Court, Sport Haley, and Slimsation
Based in Colorado, this brand portfolio includes Bette & Court, Sport Haley, and SlimSation. The slimsation skirts (pictured above in khaki) are brand new and feature a comfortable wide contoured waistband. Be sure to size down for the best fit. In other words, if you normally wear a size M, I recommend ordering a size S in this brand. Note that the SlimSation brand also offers slimming clothing pieces for the office and for holiday parties.
Raise your hand if you don't like treadmills and you prefer to get your exercise in nature? If you are waving your hand wildly like me, you'll want to check out Salomon's XA PRO 3D, a stylish and sturdy shoe that is specifically designed for trail running. They offer lots of traction and a reinforced toe cap for optimal protection and support in the outdoors. Also - no need to tie + re-tie shoelaces with the shoe's innovative lacing system! A solid pair of trail running shoes is a gift that any active women will appreciate.
Not sure if she needs a new pair of sunglasses? She does! If she's an active woman, there's a good chance that she's probably asking, "What did I do with my sunglasses?" every single time she walks out the door. Bolle offers high-quality and stylish sunglasses with excellent built-in sun protection. We're highlighting the Grace (pictured above) this holiday season. Very aptly named as it has a very Grace-Kelly-ish look. Sophisticated, versatile, and photogenic.
Never underestimate the importance of a good pair of socks to an athletic woman. Swiftwick's socks are stretchy (but won't stretch out!), soft, supportive, and sweat-proof. They mold to your feet, while keeping them cool. If you have a friend who is training for a 5k, 1/2 marathon, or marathon be sure to pick up a pair from the new race series. So motivating! Swiftwick also makes great lightweight hiking socks that will help keep blisters at bay.
Camping or backpacking woman on your list? Therm-a-Rest's Questar HD 20 Down Sleeping Bag is new for 2017! The three season backpack will keep her comfortable in most kinds of weather. If she has perpetually cold feet, she'll love the foot warmer pocket. She can even "mummy up" with the cinchable hood. Other perks of this sleeping bag - hooks to ensure that additional blankets down fall off during the night and a connector that will keep a camping mat in place. Available in three sizes so you can find one exactly right for your height!
After running the 1/2 marathon, playing in the tennis tournament, or conquering an uphill hike, she'll be grateful to sink into a comfortable recovery sweatsuit. The lightweight Dynamic Navy Jacket pictured above has front zipper pockets and thumbholes. Complete the look with the matching Neveah Pant.
Before and after working out, she'll need a go-to bag to stash her sunglasses, headbands, sunscreen, ponytail holders, and wallet. We love the rich color of the Midway Hobo in Peacock Pebble - and SHE will love the three interior pockets, hidden exterior cell phone pocket, and zipper closure.
For jet-setting women, take a look at the Total Beauty Trio in Deep Merlot. Another lovely color for fall. This four-piece set is easy to clean and easy to carry.
