National Moms Nite Out 2009...Tucson Style

Want to know which city has the BEST bloggers?

I can tell you.

It's a smallish (well, not really small...there are a million people that live here, last I heard..) city in southern Arizona.

Yep, Tucson.

But I didn't have to tell you that, right?

I spent National Mom's Nite Out with two incredible ladies.

In case you don't know them, let me introduce you:

national moms nite out 3 momsDarcie of Such the Spot (pictured left). Every time I meet with her, I think, "hey, we could be great friends." She's intelligent and opinionated and funny and gorgeous. And then, I think, "wait a minute, I guess we are friends. Blog friends. And real life friends too, consequently." We need to hang out more.

Nicole of Apron Strings Aflutter (pictured right). She's a mom. She's a graphic/blog designer. She's a runner. She's a scrapbooker. She's SuperMom. Seriously. She does so much and yet she has this super easygoing and warm way. I am so very happy that we're friends.

There was food. There was fun. There was LOTS of conversation. About blogging and twittering and facebooking and marketing and money-making...and about how much we enjoy connecting with other moms via the blogosphere.

Here's a glimpse into our evening.

Nicole had everything decorated beautifully:

And I ate one too many coconut cupcakes (yes, I actually ate two of those massive cupcakes...excuse me while I go do 75 sit-ups now...I really did go do 75 sit-ups...okay, I'm back).

Meanwhile, my sweet little almost-2-month-old slept soundly through the evening buzz (my 2-year-old was at home with her daddy). Does that photo just melt your heart or what? No wonder I'm not as productive as I could be these days...I just want to stare at her and soak in every small detail from the top of her head to her tiny toes.

Overall, it was a fantastic evening. I can't wait to do it again...hopefully BEFORE 2010 rolls around.

Thanks for hosting, Nicole!

P.S. Are there any other AZ bloggers in the house? Be sure to leave a comment and your blog link below. We really need to plan more blogger "meet-ups" in the future...

  1. I am in Sahuarita (just south of Tucson about 20 miles)! I take my daughter to Irish dance classes a few times a week up in Tucson! Woo hoo! I would love to do a meet and greet with ya'll!

  2. Looks like fun! Sleeping babies are just about the sweetest thing ever, actually at the moment I can't think of anything else that tops it, well, maybe baby smiles and laughs.

  3. I'm in Tucson! My blog isn't very fancy or exciting...but I've enjoyed doing it so far! It's mostly been a way for us to keep in touch with friends and relatives who live out of state.

I also participated in the MNO Party on twitter - while I burned my family's dinner for the night!

  4. Okay, I'm obviously new enough to this blogging thing that I had NO IDEA about MNO!! Oh well... Maybe next time.
    Oh yeah... In in Phoenix,AZ!!

  5. I hate to break it to you girl but I've totally sucked you into my web of friendom. Just try to get out and you'll only get yourself in deeper. :) And man did you call it or what?! I'm *so* opinionated. Hopefully you can overlook that little trait of mine.

I had a great time with the two of you. I hope my lack of adult interaction didn't manifest itself in dominating the conversation so much that you find an excuse not to do it again. Because I'm totally putting together a three way family bbq as soon as we can get our schedules to line up.

  6. Fun times, it looks like. There wasn't anything local for me, and most of the streaming stuff didn't work for me. lol Glad you had a blast!

  7. Sounds like fun. I went to a San Diego MNO. I went by myself (scary!) but found a table with two nice moms. It was fun to get out of the house and enjoy a grown-up evening.

  8. What a fun way for bloggers to get together! I am sure those cupcakes were super yummy! And since you are nursing the calories don't count;)

  9. Just found your blog, and I'm loving it! I'm in Arizona... in Gilbert. I know there are lots of other bloggers nearby, but all my blogging buddies live out of state or out of country. :( So sad for me.

  10. Ooo...sorry those were some sinful cupcakes, weren't they?? Had so much fun...thanks for coming out!

  11. Looks like fun! I don't know any bloggers in my state but maybe that will change and I'll be able to have some meet ups.
