Protect-A-Bed’s Promise

February 7, 2009 By Stephanie

If you have ever taken a Psychology or Marketing/Communications course, you probably know that commercials and advertisements are never selling a product. They are selling something intangible: love, friendship, romance, safety, etc.

After all, if a company can get you to believe that their product will truly bring you satisfaction or spontaneity or sexiness, then you will be more likely to buy it. Deceiving? Perhaps. But it works like a charm.

Unfortunately, most products can’t live up to those sky-high expectations…which is why so many people end up with “buyer’s remorse.” You buy the product and realize that those shoes really didn’t turn you into a fashionista with a charming personality or that cleaning spray really didn’t transform your home into the spic-n-span haven you had imagined.

protect-a-bed-logoProtect-A-Bed, however, is one company that really gives you what it promises. They’re selling “peace-of-mind” and “better sleep”…and I can say that the mattress protectors really have provided our family with both. These waterproof protectors are non-“crinkly,” super soft, AND machine-washable.

protect-a-bed premium mattress protectorSo, if your baby throws up or your toddler has an accident or if you’re pregnant and your water breaks while you sleep, you don’t have to worry your pretty-little-head about that pricey mattress you’re sleeping on. Thanks to P-A-B, you can just strip the sheets and put new ones on – without having to try to soak up the “yuck” as quick as can be (and – really – does scrubbing the spot with a towel truly work to eliminate odors and such? I think not…).

I have written about Protect-A-Bed in the past (you can click on the following links to read about why I think the pads are especially great for co-sleepers and potty training tots) because it’s a product that I truly believe in.

Retailing between $59.99 and $149.99 depending on the size and style you select, P-A-B mattress protectors are sold online and at a variety of mattress retailers.

WIN IT! One winner will have his/her choice of an AllerZip Mattress Protector, a Premium Mattress Protector, OR a Crib Mattress Protector in the size of his/her choice…PLUS a Premium Pillow Protector. To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Sunday, February 15 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #155 Chrysa. Congratulations!

These mattress covers sound like a terrific idea! Allergies are a big problem in our household. Just the thought of dust mites is making me squirm at my desk! This is one necessary item which seems to go on the bottom of the list of things to purchase. I always think, one of these days I’ll go out and find something to protect our mattresses, and then I never do. It would be wonderful to win these, and then spread the word on how they work.
Thanks so much for a great giveaway!

The allergy version be great. We’re allergic to so many things and mattresses are the perfect breading ground for germs and allergens. Like most people we can’t afford to replace our mattress as often as we like but it would be great to have one of these covers to seal everything away!

I learned my lesson a few years ago when my grandson stayed overnight with me. I thought everything would be ok but I guess the stress of not being at home got to him and we had an accident that left a rather large stain on the mattress. Now I keep protectors on all the mattresses although they are cheapo ones not nice like this one.

We have a PAB cover for my son’s crib mattress because it’s organic cotton and there is no way I want that getting ruined! : ) And a huge thank you! (you know why!) : )

We really need a mattress protector on my three year old’s bed. He is trained during the day, but still has frequent accidents at night and the rubber sheet I bought isn’t doing the greatest job of protecting the mattress. I scrub at least twice a week to keep away stains.

Our daughter (just turned 3) has allergy/asthma issues and, because she has a feeding tube over night, we frequently have a disconnected tube or vomiting that make quite a mess.
