Stocking Stuffer Shopping – with Kohl’s

December 8, 2012 By Stephanie

Stockings are almost more fun to open than gifts, don’t you think? I love all of the little thoughtful items tucked inside – miniature oranges, dark chocolates, soft peppermint candies, jewelry, lipstick, and other surprises.

If you’re looking to pick up stocking stuffers for your family, Kohl’s is a good place to start. The department store (which is the 4th largest in the USA) sells clothing, jewelry, accessories, luggage, bed & bath items, toys, and home/kitchen tools.

This beautiful necklace with pink, purple, and bronze hues was just $13.

Little girls will love sparkly lip balm ($4.80) and necklaces “like mama” ($4.20).

There are also plenty of pretty party dresses in sizes 0-16. Dresses like this one retail for $19.99-$32.00. Our 6-year-old feels super sophisticated in this mock layer dress in vibrant red with sparkles all over.

We also generally like the Jumping Beans brand for comfy shirts, tunics, and dresses. Average price = $8-$12.

On the way out, we found these Rainbow Scratch Pad kits ($4.49 each). With a wooden stylus and included stencils, your little artist will love watching neon colors pop from the black pages. There were also Godiva chocolate bars near the checkout area.

With over 1,000 locations in 49 states, perhaps there is a Kohl’s near you? If not, you can always shop online from the comfort of your home – free shipping with orders over $50.

What are you adding to the stockings this year? Do you have any unique family traditions related to stockings?

* Thanks to Kohl’s for providing a gift card to our family so that we could share our shopping experience with you.

We love stockings! And Momma love’s shopping at Kohl’s. We have some bargain stores around here – Marshall’s, Ross, TJ Maxx, etc… that I also enjoy shopping at – but when I’m in a hurry, or simply don’t feel like making the rounds we just go to Kohl’s because I can usually find whatever I need there for a good price.

The stocking is the only part that Santa does at our house. The rest is from Mom and Dad. Santa usually gives chapstick, a ball or small toy of some sort, an orange, candy, and of course a new toothbrush with toothpaste. Santa knows that after all that candy, little teeth will need brushed with a cool new toothbrush.

We LOVE our stockings and that’s the main presents we get for the holidays. This year, I also found some cheap mini-flashlights to put in the stockings. They’re fun and in a 3-pack, so you can have a flashlight in multiple locations. Great ideas from Kohl’s and you can’t go wrong with when you buy more than $50, they give you Kohl’s cash, etc.

We don’t have stockings, so everything gets treated like a “big” present and put under the tree!! I have to say that Kohl’s is the best department store by far in terms of carrying reasonably priced dresses. JC Penney is starting to step up their game, but when I need a dress and I have a budget, I go to Kohl’s!!
