The Outdoor Family: Weber Q Portable Gas Grill by Lowe's

The Outdoor Family: Weber Q Portable Gas Grill by Lowe's 1With our house on the market and our heads in planning mode for our upcoming giving tour 'round the country, meal planning has been the last thing on our minds.

I took the girls to the grocery store yesterday and couldn't think of a single meal to make (really). I spent $20 - milk, butter, bread, and fruit. We had homemade fruit smoothies and fresh tortillas last night; french toast the night before. Tonight? Um. Something on the grill?

Tim is awesome when it's 5:30 and we're meal-less. He will often grill up chicken, fish, or veggies at the last minute - and the results are rarely disappointing. On special occasions, we grill up a platter of babyback ribs (and the girls love it).

The Outdoor Family: Weber Q Portable Gas Grill by Lowe's 2If you're short on space (perhaps you live in a condo, apartment, or duplex) or you want a grill to take camping, I recommend the Weber Q 120 LP Gas Grill ($169; available at Lowe's). It's compact, heavy-duty, and a cinch to use. The fold out wings on either side are great for holding waiting plates and tongs.

  1. its been really nice outside here lately, especially during the evening! tonight we grilled haburgers and the night before we grilled turkey dogs! when my husband is home we grill steaks once a week no matter how the weather is!

  2. We have never had anything nicer than the cheap round grills from stores like Wal-Mart. They rust so quickly and one even caught on fire. I'd love to put the gift card toward a nice one and host a few cook outs before it gets cold!

  3. We eat out all the time. I mean *all* the time. The last meal I made at home was on Friday; I took a day off work and hubby was working so I fixed some canned soup. It expired about four months ago. I ate some of it anyway. It was okay, but the chicken seemed kind of dry, which is odd when it's been soaking in broth for a least two years.

I guess the easiest meal I make at home, usually a couple of times during the cold months (we don't have central heat) is lasagne. I brown the hamburger meat and drain. Mix the meat with canned (or jarred) spaghetti sauce. Mix shredded mozzarella with a canister of ricotta cheese. Lay down a layer of uncooked lasagne noodles, ladle over a layer of the meat sauce, spoon in some cheese mixer. Repeat. Add about a quarter cup of water (I use it to rinse out the sauce can (or jar) for a little extra flavor. Cover with aluminum foil that you have sprayed with some Pam to keep the cheese from sticking. Bake for about an hour at about 375 (or whatever the back of the noodle box says). Take off the foil and bake for another 15 minutes or so. Mmm-mmm. Overall, not a lot of prep time for a good home-cooked meal.

  4. I guilty of grocery shopping and still not being to figure out what to eat. We love our little grill, we do turkey burgers every week. :)

  5. Pot Roast with carrots and potatos, Tacos, Mushroom Pork Chops is what i made last week.

  6. My favorite thing to make lately has been chicken tikki masala. McCormick came out with these new spice packs and they are delish! Of course, I'm a sucker for any indian food. Served up with some rice and naan and I'm a happy camper.

  7. We've been having taco nights once a week! Its super easy to make them and it gives me a break from cooking one night a week.

  8. My favorite meals last week were Manicotti made with my momsdelicious recipe and pork steaks with Italian crumb coating and a dash of cinnamon and sugar.

  9. We don't have our big old outdoor gas grill anymore, so that little Weber Grill looks like it would really fit the bill just for the two of us. We love to have a simple meal of fish and veggies, so this would do nicely. I have an amazing "wish list" for things I see at Lowes...it would be fun to win to fulfill some of these!

  10. Lowe's carries many great products related to spending time outdoors with our families.
My hubby loves to grill and I love to eat his grillin' meals.

I wish I had the money to buy an outdoor shed from Lowe's

    thanks
    Chris Ann

  11. Grilling has been a mainstay as our menus - and now our trusty old Weber is literally about to bite the dust (that is: to crumble into dust!) We love to grill meat, fish, seafood, chicken, turkey. and now especially veggies! They really taste great grilled. Hubby likes to grill pizza and bruschetta too. (I admit some "experiments" are more successful than others - but same goes with cooking inside.

    Thanks!

  12. This will sound a little crazy but we have been getting italian bread taking out the insides and then filling it, so far we have tried pasta, and then pizza toppings, and cheese potato soup, it turns out really good, we get really creative with what we put in eaglesforjack@gmail.com

  13. I love Lowes they have such a great selection of products for any project you have planned. Just a few nights ago we made stuffed green peppers with ground beef and rice inside with sauce on top..My family loves them and we usually make them at least once a month :)

  14. I am a Chili making mama..I use smart ground (by boca..we are not vegetarian but I am not a huge fan of ground beef), onions, peppers, lots of tomatoes..I prefer fresh but sometimes I have to use canned, cumin, hot pepper, a little salt..garlic and a skillet of cornbread!..yumm..perfect for the fall weather..and easy, believe it or not to cook on a campfire if you use a cast iron pot!!

  15. Nice little portable grill. One can never go wrong when you decide to grill. This grill is perfect for those summer camping trips too.

    ardy22 at earthlink dot net

  16. Brown rice with steamed veggies (usually broccoli) and pre-made sesame ginger sauce. yum! Sometimes I add in cashews or toasted sesame seeds.

  17. I wish I had great dinner ideas for y'all, but I'm mainly a pasta-with-veggies kinda gal. (My cooking skills are minimal.) I've never even mastered grilling, as local laws, combined with my condo assn rules, don't allow me to use either a charcoal or propane grill on my balcony!

  18. Well, it did start getting colder a couple of weeks ago, so I made a big pot of navy bean soup. It's the easiest stuff to make: beans, a great big ham bone, salt & pepper, and lots of hours in the slow cooker. Yum!
    beckytag618 at gmail dot com

  19. I can make up some of the meanest half pound angus burgers, complete smothered with american cheese and bacon everywhere!

  20. We just sold our house and are builing a house right now and living in a tiny rental house. I need to go to lowes and get some metal shelves to put in the garage to help organize us. This looks like a great grill for us. It has started to be rainy here so i have been using the crockpot quite a bit making a turkey chili, an italian chicken dish and red beans and rice in it.

  21. Tacos, i feel sometimes like we eat tacos more than twice a week. That can't be right, can it? I haaaate cooking so tonight it's Western Mac (basically hamburger helper minus the white glove and box); tomorrow night it's Chicken Casserole; I can't WAIT for the nights when the husband is home. He LOVES cooking and I happily hand over the spatula/spoon/fork/tongs, etc. He grills all year long. When it's raining, snowing, freezing, the grill comes to the backdoor where he's somewhat protected by the overhang. I've seen him rig all kinds of weather protection out there lol. His best/favorite? chicken breasts and hot wings. My 9yo daughter loves, loves, loves his hot wings. (too hot for me). He also makes cheeseburgers that would make any chain blush. - Jen (writtendesign at gmail dot com)

  22. My fave meal the past week ( and now), I cooked a big dish of breakfast casserole with sausage, bread, eggs, milk, cheese, etc. I just put a chunk of that in the microwave and have breakfast in 30 seconds, then off to work. Easy, quick and deeelicious.

    ewhatley at embarqmail dot com

  23. I feel like I'm always making the same stuff. Every week I stand in the middle of the grocery store like what else can I make?? I never come up with anything. It's always nice when the hubby grills..I love grill as do the kids. This Grill really does look perfect from camping!

  24. Cashew chicken is a big hit here, and we have it every other week or so. Hubby and the kids also like homemade pizza with a homemade Fast Rise Yeast crust (Florence-style) and we had that in the form of Spinach Pizza Margherite last week. Tonight we'll have turkey enchildas with fluffed white rice and beans on the side. I like black beans, but refried beans won the vote, so that'll be the side dish (which I'll be starting shortly...is it really 5:30 already??).

  25. I love to cook once and then eat many times. Here's some ideas that should cover your meal needs for quite a while. These are very simple and quite good meals. This past week we had spaghetti and meat sauce and beefy nachos I cooked using the method below.

    1. Get an extra- large package of ground beef. Pull out half of it and cook it with onions, celery and bell pepper in a saute pan. Divide the cooked and drained mixture in proper size portions for your family's meal. Refrigerate or freeze cooked meat mixture until needed. With this mixture, just thaw in refrigerator and add the appropriate sauce or seasonings, cook, and serve to make:

    - tacos
    -beef stroganoff
    -spaghetti and meat sauce
    -sloppy joes
    -taco salad
    - mac and cheese with ground beef
    -Spanish rice with meat
    -beefy nachos
    -pizza topped with ground beef
    -chili

    2. Get an extra large package of chicken. It can be breasts, thighs, meat, youbtake off the bone, etc. Cook it with chopped onions, bell peppers, and celery. As with the beef, portion it into meal size packages for your family. Add the proper seasoning or sauce and you can have these meals in a snap:

    - chicken spaghetti
    -King Ranch chicken
    -chicken enchiladas, burritos
    - warm chicken salad
    -pizza topped with chicken
    -salad topped with warm chicken
    -chicken and macaroni
    -chicken nachos
    - chicken with rice
    -chicken chili

and also - Place the appropriate number of chicken pieces for your family in a plastic or glass container. Top each container with a different sauce or marinade. One can be BBQ, another Teriyaki, another Italian, etc. Label and date and freeze the containers. Thaw containers in refrigerator and cook a container when you need one. Easy, healthy flavored chicken awaits your family. There are so many different sauces and marinades to try that you'll never be bored.

I have done this method for years and love it. Enjoy and good luck!

  26. I love to grill and this grill looks great for small spaces! Of course with $75 you could get lots of great items at Lowe's!

  27. I grilled out yesterday. It is a charcoal grill, but when you have just one rack of food. We need a small portable gill just for the days when i need the barbecue taste.

  28. I'm getting really discouraged with my grill. I filled up the gas tank and turned it to open, but nothing happens when I turn the grill knob on - sigh. There are SO many things that taste better grilled.

  29. We love the convenience of a gas grill and the flavor of a charcoal grill. Someone should invent a charcoal-flavored gas grill. Thanks for the chance to win the Lowe's GC!

  30. we've been trying all kinds of marinades for chicken. all the different flavors they have out now! the ceaser dressing was top of the list... we took the grill up to the mountains in august and left it up there so the relatives could use it, so now we are without any grill. no matter, we'll find one. clearance sales at the end of the year are best. thanx!

  31. My favorite meal recently was the potato and kale soup that I made when the weather turned cool. I hadn't had any since last winter and it tasted so good.

  32. Yum, baby back ribs! I'm sad the summer's over, good thing I still have my foreman for inside grilling when the snow starts!

  33. I really want a gas grill like this one. I have a charcoal one now and it just takes too long to heat up! plus I live in an apartment where space is limited so this grill would be great...my boyfriend and I love to grill out!

  34. I like to make spaghetti with meatballs, mac and cheese, and roast. If I'm low on time I make tuna pasta (tuna with fresh garlic, olive oil and fresh basil topped with a little parmesan) super quick and yummy!

  35. You sound like a mama after my own heart! We do smoothies for meals quite often at my house. Frozen blueberries, banana, almond butter, blueberry kefir and protein powder is a favorite.

As for grilling, well, that would be great, if we had something functional! Bless my dear Dad-- he brought us over a grill that he found on the side of the road... it (of course) doesn't work well, but it's the thought that counts, right? :)

  36. We definitely need some new grilling tools. We have a great grill, but our tools have seen much better days.

For dinner ideas I use Pioneer Women's site often! Great chicken spaghetti or pork salad recipes are some of our favorites.

  37. My husband and I grill all the time. We have a lil 10$ charcoal grill. Not the best grill in the world. We used it every day to cook for weeks when we moved a few months back. Pretty handy grilling is. Dont dirty as many dished as you do cooking on the stove lol.

  38. We are avid campers and go camping every year. We go with 17 other families and has become a big tradition in our family! This grill would be perfect for us to take camping! My husband has wanted one of these for so long. He would be ecstatic if we won a gift card to buy this. Thanks so much!

    msjem2001 at yahoo dot com

  39. We used to grill almost everyday year round until our grill started to rust out. Boo. Would love another one!

  40. We've started to get tons of veggies from our local farmer's market, so we've been roasting a lot of potatoes, carrots, beets, and squash, and just last night we warmed up with some delicious pumpkin soup. Baked sweet potatoes and sweet potato fries have also made regular appearances on our table lately. It's going to warm up this week, so we might try to fire up the grill one last time and make some steaks and chicken/veggie kabobs while we still can!

  41. I have to say i love breakfast for dinner my husband makes the best breakfast skillet hes a pro when it comes to making breakfast im a lucky woman (chucosbabygirl(at)yahoo(dot)com)

  42. We love grilling, even when it is cold, but our grill is not working that great these days,so this would go towards a new one!
    ardelong2(at)gmail(dot)com

  43. I love going to Lowe's in the summertime for gardening supplies and flowers. In the winter I like to go there for cute Christmas presents for friends or to check out sale items and furniture. I'd love to use that gift card toward a new gas grill. Thanks!

  44. Its not easy sometimes deciding on what to make for dinner so other than frying or baking something I think grilling is an excellent choice and very versatile too, so many things can be grilled in a hurry and we have used our george foreman grill for many quick dinners when we are short on time currently we dont have a grill outside and this grill looks like it could really be useful for making just about anything

thanks for the fantastic giveaway :)

  45. We've only had Lowe's in our town for the last year or so...I'd love a chance to spend time perusing their aisles with a gift card...and this grill would be a great addition to our camping trips.
My favorite meal in the most recent weeks is Chicken Florentine Linguine. I went to great lengths to get the recipe from the person who first made it...I wrote him a note requesting it, I emailed him, asked my daughter to get it from him...finally I got it and made the dish for my family and for a potluck evening as well. I love it! Next time I have company, I'm making it for them.

  46. We're gearing up to re-do our kitchen. Currently, there's no floor in there. We have to even replace the sub-floor. Fun stuff. Lowe's already own our soul's, this would be a great help. I know just the sink I'd go pick up :D Thanks for the chance!

  47. This summer we had a big camping trip planned, but at the last minute my Mom had to have back surgery, so I went to help my Mom and my DH took the kids and his Brother and went on the camping trip (with 3 other families) and for some reason they came home without our grill. I would love to be able to buy a new one!

  48. Lowe's is a great store for all kinds of things. My family could really benefit from this Portable Gas Grill, but if I were the lucky winner, I'd definitely love to have some new house plants. Their garden selection is excellent! Thanks for the contest! codisweepstakes2 (@) gmail(dot)com

  49. i tend to make a lot of casseroles, that way we can have left-overs for a few days -- the only downside is sometimes they don't turn out and i hear a lot of complaints when we have to have bad meal after bad meal!

    autumn398 @ yahoo.com

  50. These portable grills are very popular around here for tailgating (big football city--go Colts.) My husband makes up some great rubs and marinades for grilling.

  51. The weather is starting to turn so I made a Coke Roast in the crockpot (can of Coke, Mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, meat, potatoes, and carrots.) The next night I shredded the left over meat, added a drained can of peas, drained can of corn, and a little water and turned it into stew.

Another night I made Chili. The next night I turned the chili into a Tater Tot Chili casserole whose recipe I got from Taste of Home.

I also love to make homemade pizza. I make the dough in my bread machine. The recipe I use is on Hillybilly Housewife's website.

  52. Thank you for the giveaway. We love Lowe's and actually do quite a bit of our shopping there. I enjoy grilling, I wish the weather was perfect all the time to grill out. I experiment with our meats and my husband makes a killer grilled chicken.

  53. I love my webber Q grill, it is perfect! One of my favorite things to grill on it is pizza. Take uncooked pizza dough, place on grill. Grill until brown on one side, flip over. Put sauce, toppings and cheese on. Close lid and grill until cheese is melted and bottom is brown. Oh so yummy!

I would love this gift card to get some grilling supplies.

  54. I make turkey burgers, huge salads with hard boiled eggs and cheese, tacos, chicken pie, breaded baked chicken and spaghetti on the side.

  55. Lately I have been making a lot of stir fry - we're trying to eat healthy and eat more brown rice, so I have been stir frying a bit of meat (chicken, pork, etc), all sorts of veggies (mixing them up so we don't get tired of the dish), lots of bean sprouts, and serve it over rice. Goodness that was a horrid run-on sentence! Thank you so much for the fabulous giveaway and for having such a wonderful blog.
    Hugs,
    Erin

  56. In honor of breast cancer month pink french toast that are cut into heart or pink ribbon shape. Toasted on the little grill would be nice.

  57. We love to grill & have thought of getting a portable grill & keep putting it off. Maybe it's time to finally do it.

  58. This year my goals have been to grow an organic, Italian garden and to learn to cook more Italian. We have really enjoyed it. I found out the tomatoes in my garden actually taste like FRUIT they are so sweet. And the herb I can no longer live without is definitely BASIL! :D

I adapt most dishes to fit kids, as in, taking the hot spiciness away and making them family friendly. I just won a recipe contest for my Gnocchi and I love our style of Zuppa Toscana. I can link you to my recipes if you like Italian, but I don't want to spam your blog with my site.

Tonight, we are having french toast for dinner per children's request. hee hee.

  59. Our family loves shopping at Lowe's. We just bought some great plants there. We're looking for a new BBQ grill so this would come in handy, thanks!

  60. It has finally cooled off for the most part so tater tot casserole, chicken casserole/chicken and dumplings, chili and shepherd's pie have been dinners in the past couple weeks here.

  61. If I can't think of anything to cook, we usually end up eating breakfast foods like eggs and toast. But, I also love to heat up a grill and cook bratwurst for a quick and easy meal.

  62. I love shopping at Lowes. I never looked at their grills before because I have an apartment but the one you featured in this blog looks like it would work well on my patio.

  63. Lowe's is our favorite home improvement store. We could spend hours there browsing. Right now we have a gutted bathroom that use every bit of help. This would be great to buy the cool tile that I want there.

  64. I've gotten in a real rut with meals for about the last 6 months. It's time to search the internet for some new recipes. My old grill got dirty so I threw it away, so I'd love a new grill. That would definitely help cooking new stuff.

  65. My favorite meal I prepared over the past couple of weeks is a marinated pork tenderloin. I marinated it in teriyaki all afternoon and grilled it up on my George Foreman and it was delicious.

  66. My husband would go crazy over something like this. It would be perfect for football season...especially tailgating!!!

  67. My hubby and I build our house and are continuing to upgrade and maintain as necessary and we've found that Lowes is far superior to that other store. Around here they build them across the street from each other and both parking lots are usually full, but you won't find my truck anywhere but Lowes. Thanks for the giveaway, its about time we started our outdoor winterizing for this year.

  68. This grill would be great to have for those long days at the ball field. It would end up saving us money because we wouldn't have to buy fromt he concession stand. Thank you!

  69. Our local grocery has a huge meat sale about 4 times per year. We plan and buy LOTS of meat to put in the freezer. Then we always have something we can get out of the freezer to bake or grill. It also helps our weekly trips to grocery a little easier since we're not buying meat.

  70. We have come close several times to buying a new grill, but everything we get ready to they do not have the one we want, and we always some how need the money else where, ugh this would be awesome to win maybe I would get lucky and find a nice one marked down because summer is over.

  71. The weather has turned cooler so we/ve be pulling out our fall favorites like white beans and sausage with swiss chard and braised chicken with the last of the tomato crop.

  72. We are in the process of getting our home ready to put on the market in spring of 2011. And never realized just how many odds and ends needed to be fixed before doing so. It seems as if we are forever going to Lowe's.

    jweezie43[at]gmail[dot]com

  73. We love to barbeque-chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs etc.....but our grill gave up the ghost this summer.thanks for the giveaway

  74. We have one of those George Foreman grills but I'd really like an outdoor grill so we don't stink up the kitchen. Also, maybe this would inspire my husband to actually cook something. One can only dream.

Lowe's just opened a new store a couple miles from my house. Woo hoo!

  75. Awesome!

    What a great-looking grill!

My wife and I love shopping at Lowe's for all our home furnishing needs!

And lately - while my wife recovers from a skiing accident, I've become the family's head chef!

Last night, I prepared Lemon Shrimp Linguine!

    Yum! Yum! Yummy!

Thanks for the chance to WIN and GOOD LUCK to ALL!

  76. When it comes to cooking with less space I'm an expert! Our fave family meal is Chicken Packets. You can do this on a grill or in an oven.

You just take one serving of chicken for each packet and add what you like. We like one potatoe cut up (so it cooks well) with olive oil drizzled over. I prefer hot peppers and salsa, my daughter likes citrus (lemons or oranges) with her fave dry spices. My DH like a bit of both, so he has salsa with lemons.

  77. I wish I could depend on help from the BBQ expert in our house. Unfortunately he seems to grill less and less each year. So far this year it's been two or three times. Maybe I should learn to do it, but lighting the fire intimidates me and I have no idea on how to determine when anything is done.

Maybe Lowes needs to offer free courses on BBQ techniques for women.

    ewalsh40(at)gmail(dot)com

  78. It's finally feeling like Fall around here and we realized that we have a lot of winterizing to do around our house. This gift card would sure help with the expenses!

  79. We live in northern Maine, and one of the saddest things about winter coming is that we have to bundle up our grill and say goodbye to it until spring.

  80. We love it that Lowe's opened a store nearby. We buy a lot from their garden center and we got a new grill there this summer too.

    susitravl(at)gmail(dot)com

  81. it's starting to get chilly here in ohio so i've been going the comfort food route. i love white chicken/turkey chili! so delisious and very healthy! rachel ray has an awesome recipe that i follow but tweak a little bit with my own personal touches. :)

    misscasey(at)woh(dot)rr(dot)com

  82. My husband makes a homemade chicken bbq sauce that is awesome (he takes basic bbq in a jar and adds fresh minced garlic, hot sauce and some other mysterious things). He'll grill up the chicken, cut up sweet potatoes and fry them and we'll add whatever vegetable is fresh at the time. My favorite is broccoli.

  83. We don't have a grill and I recently found some steak on sale, so I bought it. I ended up broiling it - HA! Bloody in the inside and pretty crispy outside, my first time and we both said we wished we had a grill.

  84. Lowe's is so much better than Home Depot! As for meals, grilled New York Steak and grilled vegetables are my favorites! BBQ'd chicken is another fav!

  85. About every 2-3 weeks I fire up the grill - and when I do, I cook until the charcoal burns out. We all love the taste of grilled food and it gives us a break from the amount of time spent in the kitchen standing over the stove. And while the weather is still favorable, I hope to continue grilling right up to Thanksgiving!
P.S. I would use the gift card to purchase something the whole family would be able to enjoy. :)

  86. When my brain is too tired to think of what to make for dinner I look at my list of ideas that the kids have picked out of my cookbooks, usually something from Rachael Ray or other quick and easy cookbooks. There's usually something on the list that is just a few ingredients which we usually have in the fridge, freezer, or pantry. It's really nice when the kid who picked out the recipe notices I've made something they picked out from the cookbooks.

  87. One of my least favorite things is trying to decide what to have (and make) for dinner. My husband is super about cooking. As long as we have food in the house he will whip something up so I fill the fridge, freezer and pantry and he'll cook up a storm. Perfect.

  88. It was the day before grocery shopping day and I was stuck for decent dinner ideas. The kids were already hungry and asking when they were going to eat. This is NOT a decent meal, but it was really good. I had some frozen mozerella sticks in my freezer from a previous get-together, some havarti cheese slices and whole wheat bread. I put the cheese and mozerella sticks in the sandwich, grilled them and gave them for dinner. We all loved it! (But I think it will only be a birthday or special occasion treat in the future!)

  89. I grill year-round. A grill like this looks to be very portable to use wherever there is light.

    Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<

  90. My favorite meal I prepared recently is Gazpacho and grilled cheese sandwiches, with jalapenos of course. :-) Thank you.

  91. I love chicken shiskabobs marinated with herb and garlic marinade and cooked with onions, peppers, and tomatoes.

    txhottie_86 at yahoo dot com

  92. Lowes is a great place to shop at for a variety of house/yard items. My husband is in to grilling so much that he even grills out in wintertime, snow, rain it doesn't matter. I don't mind a bit because I don't have to cook as much, ha ha!

  93. I roasted a large chicken last weekend so I'd have leftovers to make chicken salad for lunches. (Sometimes I use leftover chicken to make chicken fried rice.)

  94. Love the looks of that grill. We like to camp and usually just use the grate on the fire pit at the campground. But this would be super to make breakfast! As far as grilling, we grill year-round. My hubs has stepped out in the deck in below zero temps to grill a steak. And I love him for it!

  95. Just found your blog from "The Finer Things in Life." Excited for your new venture.

These last few weeks soups have been the favorites to make around here. We love soups and it seems that the fall weather makes them even yummier! Thanks for the giveaway!

  96. My family is so busy with sports in the fall that our favorite meal right now is a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

  97. If I win this, I am going to use it for myself instead of giving it to my husband as will be expected LOL!

  98. I'm not much of a cook myself but my hubby is awesome at it. What I've been asking him to make us late is spaghetti. We use wheat spaghetti here at the house. He also makes meat balls with basil and Parmesan cheese. he cooks it on the outside then he tosses it into the sauce so it absorbs the flavor. hubby also cooks some Italian sausage in the sauce, very very good.

  99. I'v been trying a lot of new recipes lately. Some of them are: Toritlla Pie (this is a very versitle recipe), Apple and Cheese Casserole, & Pasta Courgette. All yummy!

  100. Have a butcher shop near my office and in the summer we love to grill their bacon and cheddar burgers on the grill.

From zero to yummy in just a few minutes

  101. Oooh, that would be nice! This grill could be taken camping, which is so not possible with the bulky charcoal grill I have at the moment.

  102. We've actually been looking at this grill - need a new camp stove. It looks like a good one.

We have found a new favorite dinner - favorite because it is very tasty, but also SUPER fast and easy - Buffalo chicken dip. It is simply an 8 oz. cream cheese, 1/2 C ranch dressing, 1/2 C Franks Red Hot Sauce, 1/2 C shredded cheese, and one 12 oz. can of chicken. Mix it all up and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Enjoy with your favorite corn chips. YUM!

Other good things we enjoy are chicken, green bell peppers, pineapple kabobs on the grill; cheesy broccoli soup; chicken cordon bleu http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/recipes/chicken_cordon_bleu.html; penne pasta chicken alfredo, chicken enchiladas; and my favs - breakfast foods like whole wheat waffles; tater tot, egg, cheese tortillas; and of course cereal!

  103. And if you would like to know more about the Christian Louboutin Satin Blue Shoes slingbacks just follow our blog, it will be your best recourse and you can also take a look at these amazing shoes on our website.

  104. In the last few weeks I've loved making chili and roasted vegetables - the colors remind me of fall and served warm they make me feel cozy!

  105. I'm a vegetarian, so there's no meat for me on the grill, but I love everything else! Corn, veggies, and especially garden burgers when they get really crispy!

  106. We could use a new grill! It would be the perfect gift for my husband who loves to cook outdoors. He loves to cook just about anything outside on a grill. He's even made pie on a grill and it was delicious!

  107. Talipia ia our favorite fish. We use instant garlic potato flakes and pat them on the fish. Then cook the fish in hot olive oil. Delicious!! Serve with some steamed brocoli.

  108. For the last few months, my menu has been dictated by the garden! Whatever has ripened and needs to be eaten... I just have to get creative with what to do with it (a trade off for the time that I do NOT spend shopping for groceries). My latest 'find' was a Zucchini Pie recipe! A bit like Quiche, with ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, and half and half! My daughter likes it enough to request we have it again! And, it works just as well with yellow squash. 20-30 min prep, and 60-70 min in the oven, and with a fresh tomato salad (also from the garden) reasonably healthy, fairly easy dinner. And, since there are just 2 of us, good leftovers for lunch...

  109. I love the idea of a small grill like that. My hubby & I are retired and we like to keep things simple in cooking and the cleanup! My favorite is a tex-mex burger and some nice grilled veggies like zucchinis and red peppers! YUm!

  110. My husband is in charge of grilling and does an excellent job! I, however, am in charge of providing the ingredients and all the side dishes. Which, I suppose, is fair :)

Also, we have a great little grill like this for tailgating. But, no flip out side tables....those would be handy!!

  111. This grill is simply great for campers and RVers. There's lots of features for an item that takes up a minimum abount of storage space.

  112. I currently live in an apartment complex where I can't have a full-size grill since I have no room to store it. I would love to have a small grill... I miss grilling chicken!

  113. Breakfast for dinner is a favorite in our house too. Chicken and rice is another favorite. I have a modern version of a pressure cooker and you can throw frozen chicken breasts, chicken broth and a good gourmet rice mix in it and have a great dinner in 20 minutes with hardly any work at all.

  114. During the warmer months, My husband grill out steaks, fish, chicken, ribs, hamburgers, but with the weather getting cooler now I'm in the kitchen a little more fixing things like lasagna, spaghetti, chicken enchiladas, chili, etc. We still grill out some, but just not as much when the weather is cooler. Thanks for the giveaway!

  115. I've been wanting to grill some pineapple lately, I got to do that before it is too cold! But kebabs are always fun, we'll definitely grill our corn for Thanksgiving!

    luckysluna(at)yahoo(dot)com

  116. My favorite in the past few weeks is the Zuppa Toscana soup I made last week. It was yummy, and soup is perfect for the fall weather.

  117. My husband loves to go to Lowe's on the weekend. He never comes home empty handed from Lowe's. It is either a garden related item or a new found tool that he buys!

  118. My in-laws live in a desert climate, and they love to cook outside as much as possible in order to keep the heat from the oven or stove out of their house. It would be so cool to put this under the Christmas tree for them. They would use it constantly, I know!

  119. As it's starting to cool down a bit here my favorite meals have been Soups and Chilli..I'm making Potato, Cheese, and Ham soup tomorrow..Can't wait! I'm drooling already.

    bakergurl02 @ yahoo dot com

  120. We live in a tiny apartment with 4 kids who love grilled hotdogs this would be great for cookouts in the backyard

  121. It's gotten pretty chilly here in the past couple weeks so I've been making pot pie, soups, and Indian food. I love warm, hearty foods!

  122. my favorite dinners this week has to include tomatoes, I have a garden and we are over flowing with tomatoes! I am trying to use them up!

  123. We are on the lookout for a grill and would love a little extra help from Lowes. We left our gas grill behind the last time we moved (it was in poor condition) and have been using an old charcoal grill available with our rental. Unfortunately, I'm charcoal challenged - I can't seem to heat the coals no matter what I do! I used to enjoy grilling but waiting for my husband to come home from work in order to light the grill puts a damper on the process.

  124. Now that it is cold we mostly love to smoke our meat rather than grill. Don't have to stand in the cold as long! LOL

  125. I am pretty bad about thinking of dinner ahead of time. I love grilled food, so we're trying to fit as much in as we can while it's still warm enough. :)

  126. We grill year round - seriously. Dead of winter and I'm bundled up in a parka grilling! Unfortunately, our grill is now about 80% rust, so I'd say it's time for a new one!

  127. I really like to cook ribs and steak and hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill. And it would be very nice to have one. So we could cook with it. Thanks!

  128. That grill would be perfect to take with us when we go camping. I get the same way about our dinners...decisions, decisions, but usually I come up with nothing exciting.

  129. Cool lil grill, my husband could spend millions in Lowes!!! I have to say I am pretty partial to that store as well:)

  130. Gosh, we've been in the same boat as you! I think last night I ate cereal, the night before that I had cheese and crackers. It's been really BAD, ha! However, tonight I plan on making sandwiches with flatbread, lettuce, mushroom (I'm blanking on which kinds, but the really large heads/tops?) and red pepper mayo.

  131. Well we really don't need a grill or grilling accessories because we already got them at Lowe's a couple of years back. Yet I wouldn't mind using this gift card to stock up on the energy efficient light bulbs, or even some grass seed for next spring.
    lfhpueblo at msn dot com

    1. Sorry but above, I forgot to include my favorite meal the past couple of weeks wasn't a grilling food at all. I made and froze stuffed bell peppers, and made and frozen lasagna's.
      lfhpueblo at msn dot com

  132. I love making a chicken tortilla lasagna thing.... all it is : a rotiss chicken - shredded and mixed with sour cream. Layer that with corn tortillas, salsa, and cheese - like a lasagna. Bake. ENJOY!

  133. We're big on soups--most recently black bean. A few cans of beans, some onions and seasoning, frozen corn and peppers. Super easy to make. I also made a simple cornbread to go with it. It was delicious, and we ate it for quite a few meals without tiring of it.

  134. That grill looks great, I bet it will be real handy when you are traveling.

My girls loves smoothies for dinner. I've never tried making my own tortillas, maybe I should. Do you need anythign special to make them?

    1. Well, they weren't *truly* homemade. We bought a pack of all-natural uncooked flour tortillas from Costco...and cooked them up on the skillet. Yum. ;)

  135. PINEAPPLE BRATS IN THE FALL I COOK FOR ATLEAT 10 PEOPLE AT NIGHT DO TO FEILD WORK ON THE FARM. LIKE TO MAKE SOMETHING QUICK THAT STAYS WARM IN TINFOIL

  136. This grill sounds perfect for tailgating! Not that I've tailgated since before I had kids...but maybe someday we can bring the kids with us.

I totally hear ya on the meal-planning. This used to be my strong suit. I don't know what happened?! I'm in some sort of funk. Maybe I need some new ideas or something. It's getting bad and I don't even have an excuse like you do.

  137. Lowe's has a great garden center, with healthy and strong plants, quite a variety, and sales galore!

It's fun to grill in a colorful backyard, with patio furniture, a mosic walk and patio stones, and flowers and birdfeeders, all from Lowe's!

  138. It's not quite cool enough here yet to make my favorite fall recipes but I couldn't wait so we've already had Chili Spaghetti and Tamale Beef soup in the crock pot.
Thanks for the chance to win!

  139. My brother has one of these at his apartment and he loves it! I have been thinking about getting one myself because it is so portable and would be great to grill in the winter without trudging out the big grill. We love grilling chicken or beef and adding a side for a quick and easy meal.

  140. We love to grill at our house but we also love to have breakfast for supper. We grill anything from chicken to burgers to steaks. There's nothing like the smell of the grill. With a gas grill we are able to grill year around.

  141. I've gotten into coconut chicken curry and different variations on fajitas- steak and chicken with lots of lime for flavor.

  142. Now this is a store my husband and I agree on. I looooove Lowes!!! I love shopping for items and starting new projects in our home.

  143. We eat lots of pasta at our house! It is quick, easy and there are endless ways of pairing pasta with other foods and even leftovers! We are also getting our house ready to put on the market. We are going to be childless in the near future because our sons will be going off to college. Thanks for the chance!

    1. We are big pasta-eaters too! In fact, we just had Pepperoni Pasta Bake for lunch today. Sometimes we even have plain noodles with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top (that is a favorite w/ our girls).

  144. I love hot dogs. Could eat them every day. Yes, the ribs I had the other day were good, but hot dogs have my heart.

  145. My Dad is DIY-ing our whole backyard! He's been going down to Lowe's almost everyday for everything from Fence materials to fertilizer, Malibu Lighting...and more. This would definitely help out and make his Birthday a special one.

  146. My family grills out a lot. I would love to replace my old grill. It is a cheap charcoal one that I bought at the beginning of the year and this would be a perfect time to upgrade it.

  147. Oh dear, hard question. I seem to have been afflicted with the same sense of "don't know what to make" as you have! I did have good success with a "ham and peas" mac & cheese casserole the other day. And tonight it was just tuna subs and salads... I agree though - grilling up a dish is so quick and easy, and it's a choice we often opt for as well! :)

  148. We have been enjoying grilled meats in salads and chicken fajitas! These have been very fresh and tasty with the heat that we have been having!

  149. When I'm pressed for time and I have the ingredients on hand I throw together a Frito Pise. It's so quick and easy and bakes for only around 20-30 minutes.

  150. Spaghetti & meatballs is my go to meal when I run out of time and ideas! I always keep frozen meatballs in the freezer and sauce in the pantry.
    nrdunningATgmailDOTcom

  151. While you may have a hard time deciding what to have for supper... My husband would have no problem deciding what to buy at Lowe's! :P

  152. Our grill has seen better days so this would definitely come in handy to get a new grill. Thanks for the chance.

  153. I always make rice because you can add just about anything to it to make a meal-it's even good with butter and salt and pepper, or milk and a little sugar!
    smchester at gmail dot com

  154. I really like this because I love cooking out but don't do it enough to warrant a huge permanent grill. Also, sometimes we watch games at other peoples homes and I could take this grill with me!

  155. Left-over delight omelettes. Each one is unique. The best contained left over wined-cook-chicken, tomatoes, swiss cheese and broccoli.

  156. We grill out all the time. This little grill would be cute to take along to the park I think, usually when we picnic we just pack cold meals, but this way we could combine our love of grilling and love of hanging out at the park!

  157. I made a roasted leg of lamb this past weekend for a family event. It was a real treat with the guests and I look forward to an even better atempt my next time making it. Barbeque chicken is on the menu this weekend. :)

  158. For so many years, I lived in apartment complexes where I was not allowed to have an outdoor grill. Now that I live in a house, I'd love a grill. But I only cook for one (sometimes 2 if a friend comes over), so it always seems ridiculous to haul out a giant grill for 2 burgers. But that grill looks just right! Of course, I secretly love charcoal better than gas grills, so perhaps Lowe's would have a little charcoal grill for someone like me. :)

  159. I love that this grill is so portable. Great for an impromptu picnic or tailgating. Since grilling is so easy we do a lot of vegetables and chicken all year round.

  160. I've always thought the little Weber grills were the cutest. Grilled food is my favorite type. I miss it so much in the winter because those indoor grills are just not the same.

  161. How many ways can you say chicken?? We have been on the chicken roll, not literally but it seems real enough. I think it's time for a good ole fashioned burger

  162. We have a large grill for the backyard, but we could use a more portable one to take camping or on picnics.

  163. We love old fashioned burgers. Nothing beats the smokey grilled flavor you get from burgers on the grill. We enjoy them regularly on the patio. Quick and delicious!

  164. We love grilling and do it all year round. Nothing like a delicious charbroiled steak right off the grill in the middle of winter! Thanks.

  165. We have a large grill for the backyard, but we could use a more portable one to take camping or on picnics.

  166. Even without all that going on, I still have trouble coming up with dinner ideas sometimes. I definitely should use my grill more. Good luck selling the house!

  167. My favorite meal is grilled chicken breast sliced thinly and then served on a salad with cheese, avocado and some tortilla chips

  168. Great Idea! Having Breakfast for supper. I do great with meal planning is I make a menu ahead of time but that doesn't get done very often, just takes an hour every month to plan the main dish and then just serve side dishes but I am a procrastinator!~

  169. This is our time of year we grill the most for Football season, we love tailgaiting and wouldnt this little Weber Q be perfect for that?? I can smell the brats and hamburgers.
    Thanks for the chance.
    mogrill@comcast.net

  170. That looks like a great camping grill. Will you be taking it with you in the RV? My hubby is great too at coming up with something quick when I am unprepared for dinner. He always seems to have an idea!

Also we sometimes have smoothies and something else small for dinner around here too. They can be very filling!

  171. I have been a slacker lately. Meals have been boring. I do love making pizza at home. Usually I make BBQ chicken pizza with chicken, green peppers, mushrooms, cheese (of course!), BBQ sauce. Yum! It is one of my favorite ways to use up leftover chicken.

  172. We had smoked some brisket this weekend. It was so yummy. I am thinking of making some loaded baked potato soup tonight.

  173. I made some oven baked butterflied pork chops with panko crumb coating last weekend that my husband raved about. Not nearly all my meals are that successful, so I was happy with the results.

  174. We haven't had very exciting meals the last couple weeks, but I'm thinking we might just have to grill tonight!!!! :)

  175. I love shopping at Lowe's, my grandson wants some tools for Christmas so he can help his Dad build and fix things!

  176. We've been making a lot of chicken tenders and chicken nuggets. I don't know why, but we've just been in a mood for them everyday. Maybe, it's the weather. I've also been wanting some hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and popcorn.

  177. This little grill looks so wonderful for when you're short on space. We have a Summit Gold Weber and it is just fantastic, love it! We love Lowe's and just bought a new washer from them. They were wonderful, did a price match and even removed our old washer and installed the new one. Would love to go shopping at Lowe's again! Thank you!

  178. with this cool fall weather rolling in to our tennessee mountains now my latest meals I have made to enjoy are crock pot soups like vegtable beef stew, homemade chilli, chicken soup, and good ole pinto beans with cornbread, just perfect with the cool weather and to keep cold germs at bay. But I love my grilling too, which we use all year, on the coldest days I still run out there to put some jack daniels bbq chicken or ribs on it to slowly grill along with a baked potatoe, simple yet fast grilled foods that stick to your ribs! thanks
    sewitupjulie at gmail dot com

  179. This post describes me. Sometimes I will go to the store and have no clue what I want to make, but grilling would solve the problems some days.

Thanks for the giveaway! I would love to win this.

  180. It is getting cooler so that makes me want to cook hearty meals rather then just eat sandwichs. I love grilled chicken. I also like to get the crock pot out and make beef stew...it makes the house smell wonderful all day.

  181. Talking about grilling accessories I've been meaning to get one of those steam powere grill cleaning brush, or something to make cleaning the grill easier.

  182. My parents have one of these and LOVE it. They use it all year long. Our grill broke at the beginning of this past summer and we haven't replaced it yet. I have been trying to convince my boyfriend that this is the one we need!

  183. I use our slow cooker to do country style pork ribs in a sweet and sour sauce, serve them up with rice and a salad.

  184. What man wouldn't love to have more grilling accessories! My husband loves to grill at any time of the year. This would be great and Lowes has it all. Thanks.

  185. I have so many memories of camping with my family... and making meals on our coleman cookstove. This makes me so incredibly happy, and I REALLY hope our children have the same memories someday (altho we will haven't attempted a camping trip with all 4 of us!).

  186. Seems like we're always cooking quick meals for during the week. Anything less than 30 minutes is what we look for. Weekends, I'll usually make larger meals.
One quick meal that my family loves is chicken added to a salad. Quick, easy & yummy.
    Thanks so much.
    rickpeggysmith(at)aol(dot)com

  187. One of our favorites is always American Chop Suey. Quick, easy , tasty (especially as leftovers reheated) cheap to make and filling. Brown ground beef (or ground turkey) and sliced onions. Add 2 cans tomato soup (no water) and cook a pound of elbow macaroni. Add macaroni to the sauce, mix up, serve with some grated cheese on top. Add some Italian bread and a salad, perfect meal.

  188. My husband has been lusting after a stainless steel Weber grill at Lowes. If I won, we would put this gift card towards that grill.

    Thanks for offering this giveaway.

  189. We bought our last grill from Lowe's. I enjoy shopping there for things from plants and hardware to appliances and more. I get lost in the store and my husband has to find me.. I never want to leave.

  190. I make this Italian Chicken Pasta salad with bow tie noodles. It's a hybrid off a salad my best friend makes and it's soooo yummy!
Chopped lettuce, a box of farfalle noodles, Italian dressing to taste, chopped tomatoes and olives, parmesan and mozzarella cheese (shredded) and then grilled chicken with Italian seasoning on it, chopped up. I make it in the biggest bowl I have and it still only lasts about 2 days! Although any longer and the lettuce gets pretty slimy... ;) It's good warm or cold!

  191. I love grilled portabello mushrooms, but since we don't have a grill I almost never get to enjoy them. I think a grill should go on our must buy list.

  192. I'll let you in on a little secret about me-I hate meal planning! Having a clean house, keeping organized, etc, etc. is all super easy for me, but meal planning is tough! I've tried to be better, but often 5 o'clock comes and I realize we don't have anything to eat. Chris often grills on those nights too! :) What a fun little grill though and I think it would be perfect for camping!

  193. oh man - what's for dinner is always a minor stressful situation in our house. Lately, the two of us have been too busy to really "stock-up" on groceries OR cook for that matter. Our current "go to" is soup! So far I'm loving it. A couple weeks ago I made a huge pot of yummy chili and that fed us for a few days....but we typically buy the soup in the cans or cartons made by the market. We are lazy chefs over here.

  194. There's a nice bathroom faucet they have at Lowe's I'd like to get cause I need to replace 2 of them and redo the kitchen and paint and tear the rug up before we can put the house up for sale so this would help.

  195. Okay, so I have to admit, I wouldn't use it for grilling supplies..I would use it for paint. The hubby STARTED painted our bathroom and our kitchen, and has yet to finish them. I have been waiting for, oh, 9 months now? He keeps using money problems as his excuse not to finish up. I'd love to win so he could eat his words and I could finally have my house back!

  196. Our weather here is turning a little cooler, but living in Florida, I have a chance to do a second round of planting for the yard. I would love to use a Lowe's gift card to buy some new fall/winter plants for landscaping! Lowe's always has a great selection of high quality plants to choose from! Thanks for the chance to win!

  197. Its nice to be able to grill something up real quick. I only wish my husband thought the same thing. Maybe I do some grilling with a handy grill like this, ours is old and spider infested so I never want to use it. Ha!

  198. Though we're not a camping family, I do love cooking in my Lodge cast iron dutch oven. Cobblers, stews, even chickens.
    Thanks for the great contest!
    Megret
    musesofmegret (at) gmail (dot) com

  199. Well, I haven't cooked much in the past week, lol. My favorite quick dinner was salad with chicken breast on top with Olive Garden salad dressing. That's my favorite tip: you can buy the delicious salad dressing right from the Olive Garden restaurant!

  200. It looks like a great grill! Some of our favorite meals lately have included make your own taco salads, grilled steak with veggies, pot roast, and sweet and sour meatballs over rice. Yum!

  201. I hope you have a lot of oppurtunities around a campfire on your upcoming adventures it is always a great way to meet the other people around you and you never know they might invite you to dinner. My parents took my son to Yelllowstone and the Tetons last year and my five year old insisted they invite their next door neigbor over for dinner.

  202. We're obsessed with frittatas. We make this delicious one with broccoli, lemon, and goat cheese. Right now we're making meatloaf with baked potatoes. And, let's not forget our all time go to meal of polenta and spaghetti sauce with a giant salad on the side. Now that I'm laying it all out like this, I'm realizing that those meals are on a steady rotation at our house. Maybe we should branch out!!

  203. we do a lot of grilled tilapia or salmon. We were awful this year on grilling outside. Hopefully next year will bring more grilling opportunities.

  204. What an awesome looking grill! Veggies on the grill are my favorite....and french toast..yum!

I bet you will get lot's of use out of this during your upcoming travels!

  205. My family always loves Turkey corn chili (a 30 min Rachel ray reciepe), curry beef in the slow cooker and oven fried pork (boneless pork chops breaded and backed in 2 T of butter in the oven) we had last night. I made enough to have as leftovers on Tuesday.

  206. Yeah it's 6 and I have no meat thawed & no plan yet. Lol. And we don't have a grill yet. We've been considering one but didn't know what kind would be good for our apartment-thanks for the recommendation!!

  207. That grill is super cool, great for tailgating! We always seem to find some project around the house we need to head to Lowes for! They have a little bit of something for everyone, even us ladies!!

  208. We have this exact same grill and we use it at least 3-4 nights per week! It is so great!! As far as meals go, I typically make things that are easy, inexpensive, delicious and don't take more than 30 minutes (not counting bake time if necessary). I completely understand the debacle of not knowing what to make, or not being in the mood to make something. Lately we have been having a yummy spinach salad with hard boiled eggs, bacon and grilled chicken on top with a Dijon viniagrette. So yummy...and easy...and you can prepare the eggs and bacon ahead of time if you like: http://lettners.blogspot.com/2010/08/thursdays-recipe-rodeo.html

Tonight I am making pulled pork sandwiches: http://lettners.blogspot.com/2009/09/thursdays-recipe-rodeo_10.html with the BBQ sauce from my rib recipe: http://lettners.blogspot.com/2010/06/thursdays-recipe-rodeo_17.html. And with the leftovers we will make pulled pork pizza: http://lettners.blogspot.com/2010/07/thursdays-recipe-rodeo_29.html

One of our default 'don't have anything planned yet at 5:30pm' meals is a grilled chicken sandwich. Grill up some chicken, put it on some ciabatta bread/roll with some of the yogurt sauce (the same one we use on our lamb burgers) and some fresh spinach leaves. Delish!

I hope it cools down for you soon!

  209. Oh me too! Last night we actually had fruit, veggies and popcorn. Oh well, it looks like the weather is cooling down so perhaps I shall be inspired to cook again. I think taco salad will be dinner tonight :)

  210. Lowes is the place to go! Far better than Home Depot... and I'm not bias or anything ;) We had to get rid of our BBQ after the birds made a nest and pretty much destroyed ours...

  211. LOL! At first I thought you were giving away the Weber Q grill, which after much research and trial-and-error, we selected as our new camping grill. We love it! Like you said, it is heavy duty, compact, and doesn't take a lot to get set up.

I've been in a cooking funk lately, something that usually comes around the shift of seasons. I'm ready for stews, soups, and chilis, but the weather is not cooperating! So yesterday, I cut up two whole chickens, threw the bones in a pot and made up some stock to freeze for soup when the weather complies, and threw the breasts on the grill for dinner. The thighs and legs went into the freezer for another meal later. And that's about as creative as I've been lately.

  212. I've been having meal-planner's block for weeks, too. I don't know what's wrong with me. My husband also usually steps in at that point. He made some incredible seafood dishes over the weekend.

  213. My favorite meals have been soup this last week with the weather changing and it being cool....I also like that a pot lasts a few nights and I don't have to cook as often! ;-)

LOVE Lowes and this would really come in handy if I were to win! Thanks for the chance! :-)

  214. I love it when my Hubby grills - he just doesn't do it very often! We're having a busy night tonight - so it's grilled ham & cheese with pasta salad

  215. Last night we had a party with homemade pizza! It was yummy. I'm really looking forward to chili on the menu this week.

  216. We love grilling out just some plain chicken with seasoning and eating some fresh veggies! It's easy, simple and healthy!

  217. We made these cauliflower 'steaks' last night and they were delicious! I veganized the recipe of course... I used vegetable broth instead of water and added some vegan butter in place of the milk. :)
    http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Cauliflower-Steaks-with-Cauliflower-Puree-241351

These stuffed zucchini are another recent favorite.
    http://greenlitebites.com/2009/06/20/back-to-basics-quinoa-stuffed-zucchini/

And have you ever roasted beets? They're scrumptious! I never liked beets when I was a kid because I only had them from a can. Fresh beets are so good! I've been peeling them but I think next time I'll leave the peels in place. Just slice 1/4", brush or drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic salt, and roast in the oven at 375 or so. I recommend using a glass baking dish for easy clean up.

    1. Melinda! You're quite the gourmet chef! Your meals sound exactly like the kind of food I like to eat.

And now I really want to try fresh beets!

  218. The daily drudgery of dinner planning! Some of my quick and easy favorites include tuna melts (I buy the tuna already made at the deli counter) and soup (Progresso chicken noodle). Sometimes I mix this up and make tuna wraps with tortillas. Spaghetti with meatballs (I buy ready-made at Trader Joe's if I don't have homemade ones in the freezer). I keep homemade spaghetti sauce in the freezer so it's ready in a few minutes. Hot dogs wrapped with Pillsbury croissants and baked for 12 minutes are very popular with my girls. Trader Joe's has a great selection of frozen fish that I throw on the grill (marinated Turbot is a house favorite) and makes for a quick-prep dinner.
