I aspire to be a better photographer.
Someday I might even take a digital photography class from the local community college. Just for the fun of it.
I want to be able to take artistic, stand-out pictures that are worthy of display and oohing and aahing.
I take decent photos as it is, but there’s so much more that I could learn. So much beyond the “auto” function and the “say cheese” snapshots.
This weekend is dedicated to pictures. Taking them. Preserving them. Displaying them.
I read a great quote recently – “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” (Aaron Siskind)
That quote captures why I believe in taking hundreds of photos, why I insist on it. Because photos capture memories. They stop time – if only for a moment.
