What I Wore: Fun(ky) Night Out

June 29, 2013 By Stephanie

I probably have too much black in my closet. But I contest that it’s a lovely color for clothing – subtle, dramatic, and classic all at the same time.

That’s why I recently opted to wear this understated Starburst Shutter Dress by London Times. Beautifully tailored, the dress is has a figure-flattering cut that would work well on most any body type. I especially appreciate that the neck is v-neck without being a plunging v-neck.

To add a splash of color, I layered on the Emily Denim Jacket by KUT from the Kloth. The 80’s are back and, while that’s mostly a bad thing, this jacket proves that there is room in the fashion hall of fame for every decade. The motocross style is modern and carefree. I especially like the oversized collar and slant zip.

For conference going and coffee-shop working sessions, I carry my laptop with me in the Carried Away Laptop Case by Petunia Pickle Bottom. The lightweight, zip-up case is made of a durable and easy to clean fabric…in a signature petunia design. Gorgeous. I typically put my laptop inside the case and “toss” it into the matching shopper tote (only $12), along with notebooks, pens, my charger, my wallet, and my phone.
