Celebrating Sleep {a giveaway}

Currently, my husband and I are pretty "spoiled" when it comes to sleep.

It hasn't always been this way though.

I remember the sleepless, walking-the-floors-with-restless-baby-at-2-am, "zombie days" when my older daughter was an infant...quite well. I can still remember that overwhelming exhaustion like it was yesterday.

In fact, our older daughter was still waking up several times per night (or a lot of times, depending on the night) up until I weaned her at around 21 months.

I was expecting a "repeat" of that same experience with baby #2.

Not so.

Our new baby girl is, as a I mentioned before, some kind of prodigy baby. She's been sleeping through the night pretty much since day one.

Lately - Both our girls (ages 2 1/2 years old and 3 months old) sleep all through the night, almost every night. It's a beautiful thing.

I'm so very grateful for that.

aden + anais red stars wrapTo celebrate sleep (it's totally something to celebrate, don't you agree?), I'm going to give away one of my very favorite sleep-related products: a receiving blanket (or muslin wrap, as the company calls them) by aden + anais. Aden + anais wraps are soft, lightweight, pretty, and generously-sized. I mentioned in a previous post that we gave away all of our other receiving blankets because aden + anais blankets are soooo much better. I stand by that statement.

Would you like to see the difference for yourself before stocking up? Aden + anais now sells Single Wraps, one cozy blanket in a matching fabric bag for $19.95. There are 6 fun designs to choose from.

In case you'd like to take a peek at the blanket "in use," here are a few snapshots (that's the Hot Pink Stars design):

***Sorry. Baby not included with purchase. She's 100% mine.

To enter, leave any topic-related comment on this post prior to Saturday, June 27 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.).

  1. I have been having trouble sleeping lately. My body is totally out of sync with a normal sleep schedule. Anyway, I would love to win this for another family member who is expecting.

  2. I would love to have one of these blankets for my little one! They are so cute and look so durable.

  3. These blankets are amazing! I have the Organic Sage Striped blanket already, but have my eye on the Lime-Brown Dream Muslin Blanket!

  4. I've been wanting an Aden + Anais blanket for months now -- I may have to break down and buy one. They seem to be the perfect thing for so many situations -- a blanket, a playmat, a swaddler ... and nice and large, too.

  5. I had such a hard time swaddling my oldest kids. These look like they would make it easy, since they are so large.

  6. those look so pretty and snuggly i also love their White Towel with Aqua Trim and Aqua Fish Muslin Washcloth Set

  7. Knock on wood, our almost 3 month old (!!!!) has gotten MUCH better about sleeping through the night.

  8. we just had a baby over a week ago and i have seen this product online before and it looks awesome! mmmm sleep!

  9. Hearing that you gave away all of your other receiving blankets because these are so great makes me want to try it out for sure! To win one would be even better! The red stars and the big hearts are my 2 favorite styles. I love how big they are!

  10. Those are very cute. I'm always in for blankets! Especially baby ones! It's one thing I like to collect. I like to switch things out for seasons! Mix things up a bit.

  11. I will be having my fourth child this October and I know the perils of sleepless nights. I would love to try the Aden + Anais blanket out. The more my new baby will sleep the better, the days of "sleep when baby sleep" are long gone for me!!

  12. I've heard about Aden + Anais blankets and how they are like little miracles. They look so soft and I love how you can use them in just about any kind of weather. Very versatile.

And I am so jealous your girls sleep through the night. My son is almost 11 months old and is still up 2-3x a night!

  13. I've been wanting to try out one of these blankets ever since you posted about them awhile back. Our baby is due in 10 days and the bassinet and crib are all set up ready to go when we realized we only have one receiving blanket! Ahhh.

  14. Your baby is so cute. I think this would be so cool. I think you are blessed that they sleep through the night. It would be great to try these out!

  15. i would love me a sage/star muslin wrap.

in india (where i m from), its common and ages old practice to tightly swaddle the baby in a wrap..so it feels secure like its in the mothers tummy...and we practice this till today! :)

  16. My sister is having her first baby and I would love to win one of these for her. Thanks for the chance!

  17. These certainly look soft and comfy for baby-I like the red star print because you can use it with both boys or girls... I agree that comfort is very important for a baby, and the more comfy they are the less likely they will be to keep you up all night fussing. Your little model is awfully cute too!

  18. Ugh...I'm not looking forward to the sleepless nights when I have a newborn again. But it's worth it! My son didn't sleep through the night until 13 months. But now he sleeps like a champ! Who would've thought he'd be a great sleeper.

I don't need to win, as I just won the laptop bag and my husband loves it. We just got it today so thank you! It's pretty cool lookin'. He actually looks hip now.

  19. These look great. I love that they are larger then most receiving blankets I've seen. And they have the cutest designs, the cow one is to die for!

  20. The Precious Cow Single Wrap is just too adorable. I used just regular old thermal (strechie) blankets for my son but heard that these muslin wraps are even better. It would be neat to win one and be able to try it out for no, 2

  21. Number 1 started sleeping through the night at 8 months old. Number 2, around hmmmmm a month ago.

I'm hoping that this one is a good sleeper.

  22. I've heard about these blankets but have yet to purchase one of my own. I've heard they are especially great during the summer months when babies still want to be wrapped but need breathable fabric.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  23. I have been sizing up my receiving blankets for our soon-to-arrive bundle, and I think some of them are way too small to use for swaddling! I think I may have a swaddle blanket shortage, so these would really come in handy!

  24. I love these wraps! I have one for my daughter and we've practically worn it out. I'd love to have a new one! Thanks!

  25. My twin sister uses the aden + anais blanket for her daughter and I love how lightweight yet durable it is. I would so enjoy trying them out myself on baby to be!

  26. I love the Organic Dragonfly Single Wrap. I've been trying to win one of these from aden + anais for my brother and sister-in-law, who are expecting their first child.

  27. i love these blankets! my friend has two and i always try to steal them. i have a little girl, 6 months old, but i dont care what pattern. its the quality i love!

  28. I don't need the wrap, since my baby is out of that stage now, but I wanted to pop in and say....

Ahhhh darn, the baby isn't included? Pretttty please, with a darling little pink bow on top? ;)

  29. My little guy LOVES blankies. It doesn't matter how hot it is. If he has a bottle or sippy cup, he's always happy to have a blanket to snuggle with. I think he gets it from me. I would rather have the room chilly and be in light enough clothes to enjoy a blanket over me rather than adjust the thermostat or wear more clothes.

  30. little sister looks so cute there! I am afraid she looks just like her Dad though! Diego got his looks from both of us, me from the nose down and my hubby from the nose up!

    thanks stephanie!

  31. But the baby is so cute! You sure she is not for sale? ;)

This would be perfect for my friend's new little angel. I would love to surprise her with it.. though I think she could use a little friend, sure shes not for sale? ;)

  32. lol, i love the organic white one...and i'm so bummed the baby doesn't come with the purchase =)

  33. I do believe in the the usefulness of blanket bundling and the comfort that it gives to babies!
Even as an adult, I like the feel of a blanket when I am sleeping. In fact, I can't sleep without a sheet or blanket to cover with. Aden + Anais is a wonderful company. Their "Organic Sage Stars Muslin
Blanket" is my favorite! Please count me in.
    Many thanks, Cindi

  34. We followed the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and we were huge fans of the swaddle. Our daughter was also a great sleeper and we know it was partly due to swaddling. These blankets sound great!

  35. Maybe it's a baby #1 thing... our son (4.5 mo) still wakes up every 2.5-3 hours to feed during the night. Thankfully he goes right back to sleep, but it's fairly exhausting. I'm looking forward to the day that he will sleep a solid 6 hours (or more, dare I dream!).

  36. You are a lucky mama for getting all that sleep!! I had two good sleeping babies (not THAT good, but pretty darn good) so no complaining here either. I have THREE friends who just had or are about to have baby boys, so I'd love to give this as a gift.

  37. I Think the Single Wrap by aden + anais are just WONDERFUL~
I am entering for my First Grandbaby who is Due in October! I know MY Girls who are 18 and 23 ALWAYS loved their Blankies and became especially attached the the soft cuddly lightweight kind that they could carry around! This just seems like that type of blanket!
PLUS, even in the warmer summer months, HERE In GA you must have a light weight Blanket to cover the little ones with! The Single Wrap by aden + anais really fits the Bill! My favorite is the
Dino's Single Wrap!! Thank you so much for the Chance to win!!!

  38. I love love love Aden & Anais wraps and would love another one. They are simply the best.

I can't believe just how big your baby is getting and how well she is holding her head up. She's such a cutie!

  39. Considering my last swaddling blanket was in a back pack that was stolen (ahhh, the memories wrapped in that loving and favored blanket), I would love to try these. I keep hearing about this brand. Thanks for sharing.

  40. I know my baby isn't a baby baby anymore, but we still use receiving blankets for naps or summer sleeping, and the big kid likes them for playing with the dolls sometimes. I'd love the hearts one! Thanks!

  41. I bought a four-pack of these based on your earlier review and I LOVE them. Our baby only sleeps deeply when his arms are tightly wrapped. These are the perfect size for swaddling and are not too warm for summer napping. They're also wonderfully soft. I recommend them to everyone!

  42. I think the pics are amazing and your children are adorable....sleep now- wild teens- watch out :) only joking. Love the blankets

  43. I was at Target last night and saw that they are selling packs of these blankets, I think there were three in the pack for $29.99. Based on their website though, the Target ones are 44 by 44 and the ones on the aden + anais site are 47 by 47, so just be warned.

I would love to try one out with my three month old. The regular receiving blankets I have now are just too small. And blankets are too hot now that it has warmed up.

  44. Holy hannah, I need sleep. I'm WAY out of the baby stage (youngest is about to start first grade, oldest is a teen), but the last few weeks have been filled with GI viruses and puking, fevers, and other infections that have me up all hours of the night. I'm feeling like I'm back in the zombie baby stage again. I go to bed wondering if I'll get to sleep all night or if someone will wake me up with an ailment.

Yeah, I could use some celebrating of sleep!

  45. I've heard alot about these blankets and would love to give one a try. We have actually been using the blanket that my son used when he was an infant. It would be nice for Kaiya to have a blanket of her very own. Kaiya still likes to be wrapped up for her naps during the day, so this would also be practical as she is outgrowing her swaddle wrap and has to have her feet stick out. It's very cute!

  46. I'm an older mom and now my boy is 8 but I'm extremely interested in new items for my readers. I loved the bjorn baby carrier for my little guy but my sister (who also had her baby at 41 and whose baby is now 2) used a sling and adored it. As far as wraps, my boy still likes the "blankie" he had on scary thunderstorm nights...he's not too big yet....and we hide under blankets and tell secrets often!

  47. My friend just had a baby and he is one month old and sleeping 7 hours a night! Hopefully I'll get just as lucky. :)

  48. We've tried these before and they are wonderful because they are so nice and big. I would have loved to have the chance to just try one out before buying a whole bunch though. And being able to mix and match would be so much fun!

  49. I've been wanting to get my hands on one of these! They look so soft and cozy. You are so lucky you get decent sleep. Sleep is probably one of the most important things to me - and my son is not good at it! He's actually not bad most of the time, but I can't function before 8am and he's usually up by 6:30...

  50. I had never heard of these until you posted earlier about them. They look amazing. I am such a sucker for blankets. I have a million, but the right one at the right time... priceless! :-)
